I would have had leg slip and short leg and would have opened with mendis. Hafeez is jittery against spinners early on.
 
I remember a match against Bangladesh where azhar bowled part timers for 10 consecutive overs when Mushfiq was new to the wicket. And the part timers also were smakcked even when our batsmen weren't too confident.

Later on even the best bowlers couldn't deliver against set batsman. Very poor captaincy
 
Lahore is definately going DD way, having a team of superstars is not enough, you need to have good leadership and passionate management.

Almost half the match is over and not even two pages in this thread. You need to provide entertainment to people
 
Seriously such criticism against Azhar but one thing for sure he is not made for shorter formats. He needs to realise this and act on this and prove his doughters wrong...in the next games.
 
Azhar's captaincy would be under scrutiny in this PSL.

He will get a lot of slack as he already is captaining the ODI side.
 
I remember Mendis was unplayable when he arrived on the scene. Now hes finished.

Sad thing is the international team will go like this, why bother turning up when your team is 9 and 10 in rankings

Might be an interesting tactic to get crowds coming in. "Get the chance to meet your favourite celebrities". Ali Zafar and others can get involved too.

Azhar should bury his head in shame after tonight's game. Pathetic captaincy. I can't believe Misbah suggested his name for ODI captaincy.

Lahore needs to release Azhar of his captaincy duties if they want to get somewhere this year. That guy is horrible for modern day captaincy.

I still do not get how you can save your best bowlers for the latter overs when you only have scored 118.
 
I think the most interesting match would be Peshawar vs Quetta but considering pitches are gonna change it might not be the case.Anyone knows if they will be facing each other here?
 
Hammad Azam is a pretty decent limited overs bowlers with his slower ones. But ofcourse Azhar Ali isn't aware of that.
 
so lahore picked azhar in silver category and made him captain , they should feel very very stupid.
 
Wow has a Lahore supporter. I am embarrassed by this performance. A pitch assisting bowlers and azhar can't figure out how to get a wicket

exactly!! and it's not just one off, Azhar has a habit of doing this following his role model Misbah. He did the same thing against NZ and England. Really need more smarter cricketer for captaincy. He is not suited for captaincy. He should stick to Test cricket.

They won't change captain now or for this season at least.

Both Lahore and Islamabad made some dumb decisions and now they are suffering. Lahore should have gone all out for Mohammad Hafeez.

After Malik Hafeez has the best captaincy record in T20. It would have been good for their top order as well. But Azhar is the worst choice possible from the 4/5 candidates.
 
I am not sure why some PSL teams went gaga for English batsman with no international experience. These players will struggle vs spin - Allenby, Vince, Deloport, I am not sure how good they are

Vince did well against Pakistan in UAE T20 series which is probably what lead to his selection. Don't know much about the other two though.
