No team can prosper unless your leader has other's respect and is able to lead from the front. Contribute to victories.

That is, perform, score or bowl well.

Every team has captains who contribute and perform. Except Pakistan.

India : Kohli
NZ : Kane Williamson
England : Root
Aus used to have Smith

What do we have? SARFRAZ AHMED! :sarf

What has Pakistan done wrong? Why are we so hell bent on destroying our cricket and the team?

He's been missing from the performance department for more than a year. Scored in ONE innings after one year against Aus, yes.

That's nothing.

Again, was needed today against NZ and he goes missing.

When will this torture end?

Better than having Misbah tbh

Atleast we win matches and tournaments

We need a new test captain. I don't agree with him in ODIs even, but he's riding and milking the CT17 cow.

Same with t20s, but he has good results as captain.

He's nothing in tests and doesn't have the fitness for it. Throw him out.

As a batsman he doesn;t deserve to play in anything, but I'm being realistically optimistic with above.

Poster boy of mediocrity...He only believes in leading from his mouth.

That grit to fight it out seems gone. I remember it when he was scoring centuries down at 7, batting with the tail, and opening/top order in ODIs. Think the hunger to perform has gone, partly why he put on weight in the first place. It feels more like he's just going to chance his arm a bit, and see what he scores. Doesn't even excel at rotating strike and picking up singles anymore.

Dunno what we can do. I don't think we can find someone better. He's still probably our best senior batsman (in ODIs at least). And he's not really much worse than the specialists bats.

It's funny in some ways it's the reverse. We used to moan how Kamran would throw his wicket, hardly score every game while Sarfraz was busy performing, working hard in domestic. Now Sarfraz is throwing his wicket, doing the same, while Kamran's now suddenly upped his work ethic in domestic. It's like there needed to be a shock for each of them to perform, once they're comfortably they get too lax.

He has gone complacent ever since the CT win. He thinks he is untouchable due to not having any backup WK in the squad.

Specialist captain for a reason. So called tactics are vastly ovverated. Would rather have a player who leads from the front.

He regressed before that though, he's been poor with the bat in tests for 3 years now.

Think his decline leads back all the way to when he first started putting on pounds and getting fat. As soon as he became a regular in the ODI format, his test performances started going south, becoming more reckless with the bat and game less and less being based around singles.

Maybe it was just simply the desire to succeed was still there. Once he'd become a regular, his performance dipped.

I don't think he's a terrible player, and as I said still probably the best of the seniors. But it's crazy to see how much he's changed and what he could have been. It doesn't even feel like the same batsman batting at the crease anymore, the younger Sarfraz was a pretty busy player at the crease, while this one well seems far less proactive.

BUT BUT

Sarfraz is a mastermind and a better captain than Kohli!

Sarfraz bakhts will now do bhangra on how his captaincy is not the problem.

Misbah was our best batsman. Won us series and tournaments.

Sarfraz cannot be defended here, you must be a pretty hardcore fan.

Misbah was equally trash and please younis was miles better then him.

This guy is a joke. Pathetic batsman. Mediocre wicketkeeper who is prone to error. Unfortunately, there is no better wicketkeepers available. Otherwise Sarfraz deserved to be permanently excluded from the Test side.

A Sarfraz fan said he is better than Bairstow because he scored against Australia whilst Bairstow had been failing for a few series. Conveniently forgetting that Sarfraz had been rubbish for months previously.

How deluded can you be to believe Sarfraz is better than Bairstow? :))) :)))

The Champions Trophy fluke is going to haunt us for a long time.

Clueless captain carried on bowling Haris when nz lead was 150 should have bowled Hassan to clean up the tail.. hopefully should be his last game.

Well said.

"Specialist captain", what an embarrassment. Isn't even great in that department.

But even if he was, shouldn't be in the team without performing.

Major contributor to our loss.

Don't forget his awful dismissals.

Apparently good captaincy is bowling your specialist bowlers. :))

It's a hard job man. Only great captains bowl with specialist. Haven't you seen the other captains bowling with their opening batsmens and their wicket keeper.
