What's new

Let's spread the power of positivity

Amazed to read this thread. I dont come to Cricket Section alot but somehow bumped into this thread and i must say for the first time i am seeing a bunch of Pakistani posters who are ready to back their team doesn't matter whatever the conditions are. Excellent guys keep it up. May Allah bless you all.

Wow. Surprised there were no posts in this after CT victory.

I will never give up on this team or any Pakistan team for that matter - Ever !!! I will back my boys to the ends of the world and it doesn't even matter if I am the only single fan remaining for PCT on planet earth.

I am not a bandwagon fan, my craziness has no limits; I support PCT all the way. I would still back my boys even if we field an XI with Kami, Butt, Shehzad, Umar and Lala in a freaking test match (and i just hate the guts of these 5 mentioned players) - so take a hint and trot along you pessimist Whiners (you all know who you are [emoji12])

Some guy at the halwa puri store said Amir should retire now. I felt like slapping the halwa puri out of his mouth, this is no way to treat a talented young star.

Actually I would've confronted him but my order just came and i didn't want it to get cold or taken by someone else.

We're on the brink!!!!! Nothing quiet like THE POWER!! THE POWER OF POSITIVITY! CLAP WITH the bear!

Clear up the next few weeks in your diaries boys - coz we got a new itinerary coming up!

Monday 12th of June! The green storm arrives in Cardiff! The Welsh may be known for their Dragon folklore, however, come Monday the only ones breathing fire will be the Pakistani cricket team as we In-Shaa-Allah set alight the competition, storming our way in to the semi final!

The men in green can then set up camp, down in the Welsh valleys as they prepare for the 14th of June! Come'th the hour, come'th the warriors! Unleash Fakhar, Hasan & Shadab against the mighty English and send the home team packing as In-Shaa-Allah Pakistan march into the final of the Champioks Trophy!

That brings us to Sunday 18th of June!! Ohhhh boy! You know what happens on the 18th of June don't you?! You know what to expect - don't you!?! Once again we take the field with over beloved padosis, however THIS time, we aren't messing around! This time we aren't being friendly neighbours!! This time we aren't heading out charitable victories!!!

This time Kohli is shaking in his boots & having deja vu as he sees Junaid running in to york him out In-Shaa-Allah! This time we have have Hasan Ali decimating Yuvis middle stump!! This time we have Amir demolishing the Indian opening batsmen with a master classs of swing bowling!! This time we have Dhoni being made to look like a 18 year old kid in front of Shadab Khan!! This time we have Fakhar & Fahim smacking the Indian Phast bowlers all over the ground!! This time we have Babar piling on a ton against the likes of Jadeja and Ashwin!! This time we have Sarfaraz leading the corner tigers to their first ever Champions Trophy victory In-Shaa-Allah!!!

Ohhhh what a beautiful sight mashallah!!

:pkflag :pkflag

......or of course - you know - we may have a poor game on Monday god forbid and head back to Lahore on the next available flight - however - personally I'm praying for and backing the firsts scenario In-Shaa-Allah!!

C'mon Boyyyysssss!! :chacha

1. I miss roarsy :( such an amazing poster and then so good posting cricket videos in literally no time.

2. The spirit squad never picked me. That's just sad.

3. There's no doubt this is our best team in a very long time. It's not about talent etc. it's the spirit that these guys play with. The 90's were a blackhole of all kinda shenanigans and what not and this team has played with almost zero controversy. From being cricket's perennial bad boys, we are a team who plays and wins hearts (except the aussies, we need to beat them to gain their respect)

4. Threads like this are needed. more of this and thank you guys.

Wow. Surprised there were no posts in this after CT victory.

Posting in this thread after the CT win would be too easy. The purpose of the spirit squad is to bring light to where there is darkness. To bring joy to where there is sadness. And to bring to the people who are hopeless.

Here's a post I made in this very thread when Pakistan managed to overcome South Africa in the CT yet fans were calling it a fluke and saying we were saved by the rain:

After the CT - everyone was on a high so we soaked up some of the positivity from others for a change

Be optimistic in life, even if it isn't worth it.

With an optimistic mindset, you will achieve more than with crying all day and cursing yourselve.

Hard to stay positive about this match after today :(

Don’t need such negativity in this thread - theres plenty of threads where you can “lose hope”. This thread is for the believers. Tomorrow mornings by inshallah we can steam roll through the English batting line up and rack up the runs on Day 2 & 3 before letting Shadab inshAllah wrap up victory with the ball in the 4th innings

:akhtar

We’re well in this match.
Positive aspect is that England will have to bat last.
Tomorrow we have to stick to the disciplines and you never know another England collapse may just be round the corner...

We can do this.

I don't think England can chase 150 in 4th inning, still a long way to go in this test, keep on fighting boys

We’re gonna win this one boys.England are going to collapse tomorrow for >250.We’re gonna make a lead of 300,England will lose by 80 odd runs.

Just need to pick up a couple of quick wickets tomorrow and get the tail in. Broad is a walking wicket anyway so the tail won't be any dangerous.

3 quick wickets. That's all we need. Last time Amir picked two wickets in the same over and that really reinforced our dominance in that match.

Hoping for Abbas to show up tomorrow. He didn't get any wickets today but you can be sure the guy is going to pick a handful tomorrow.

We’re not out of this game.

By no means.

Hasan did 1/4th of the work by getting Cook OUT.

Now all we need is Root and Malan tomorrow along with Bairstow to get things going.

My guess is we will be batting again slightly before Tea trailing by 75 runs tomorrow with the score at stumps being 80/2.

All those going to hopeville, hop on the positivity train aye.

We got this.

We will induce the most epic collapse ever and then win snatch it from England like how we've been doing for the last 11 games :sarf

PCT FTW!!

We still going to win this match!
There is no way England can chase 150+ in the 4th innings.

:salute

It is working guys. It is working.

Keep the positive vibes on!

Damn, I must say some of the PPers are so negative.
C'mon guys this isn't the end of Pak cricket!
Pakistan is going to win the series!!
:salute

It is easy to be positive when the life is full of sunshine and rainbows.

Now is the time to be positive.

Imam to guide us in this innings.

Let's get the moral victory going. Time to avoid the innings defeat.

Pakistan has been exceptional in English conditions.

Every one is a tiger at home.

But what did England do in their last few tours to UAE? Got whitewashed every time.

Pakistan drew the last two series in England!!!! (im assuming this one will be a draw)

South Africa and Australia have lost their last test series in England , we must be doing something right

8 wins out of the last 12 matches against England, with 3* losses and a draw :salute

*We haven’t lost this one yet.

So much joy to watch Salahuddin and Imam ul haq resisting Anderson and Broad.

They can do it!

Okay, we may have lost this match badly but still reasons to be positive coming out of this series. We had a young inexperienced side and still drew the series 1-1 outside of Asia, in early English summer, which historically is very difficult.

Let's hope Pakistan can whitewash Australia and NZ in UAE!

A lots of positive can be taken from this series, like all the youngsters performing!

Mark my words, we are soon going to be world no.1 side, we just have to give seniors a bit of pep-talk.

Inshallah see everyone back here tomorrow once Pakistan have secured a 35 run victory?

:amir

A few things need to happen if we are to overhaul South Africa in the last innings. Foremost South Africa are known to be serial chokers which means that somewhere along that chase of 149 they would loose their nerves and start mucking up which is probably the only windows of opportunity we have at the moment.

To get to that point where the Saffers channel this major asphyxiation phenomenon we would have just be disciplined and hope that it kinda works somehow. I do believe that we have the capacity to run them close in this game but eventually they will scrap through with 4 wickets in bank or so.

What power??? Are we all some sort of super humans that can send some magnetic or whatever waves to these pathetic non performing team?

Best chance is for us Muslim Pakistan fans is to do dua in the last few days of Ramadan especially, Our only hope to ask Allah to intervene 🙂

Don't worry we got this. I have us down for losing first two games + India anyway. Pretty confident still.

Come on Pakistan! Only way is up from here!

(Losing culture has really hit us)

Is it the right time.....to post? TalhaSyed

I don't know what it is - I just can't give up on this team.

I'm like the Anti-Mamoon :yk

I just can't believe that this team is not capable of being on top of the world.

It's Pakistani cricket. Listen to Nasser Hussain speak about Pakistani cricket and you will see the kind of passion we ignite within fans are around the world. Their is good reason for that.

Their are many fickle fans who are quick to quit as soon as the going gets tough and equally quick to either go into hiding or jump on the bandwagon when the team proves the naysayers wrong. We don't need those fans. Simple as that.

The fans are just as bad as the team in many ways. The blame culture - which runs strong amongst Pakistani people in general - has also ran rampant through the cricket fans. We are incapable of putting aside our personal thoughts and agendas and getting behind the players and management. We always like to think we know better, we always like to think the grass is greener on the other side, we always like to think we know exactly who to blame, we always like to see ourselves as the victim and because of that we are never able to actually back the team 100% percent.

My message is pretty clear and simple. Yes we have had an extremely poor run in the last 12 months or so. Yes we are really struggling to get a W against our name. Yes - mentally our players seem shot. However, if you genuinely think this team is not capable of winning, if you think this team is not capable of turning things around, if you think it's all done and over for this team - then I would serious question whether you have even been watching cricket for longer than 12 months.

I would not be surprised in the slightest if this team beats England on Monday. Intact - we have 3 massive games coming up against the Big 3 and I would not be surprised at all if we beat at least 2 if not all 3 of the Big 3 InshAllah.

Now again - some eternal pesemistic fans will be quick to harp on about me being "overly optimistic" and "naive". However - as I said - we don't need those fans. If they don't believe in the team, if they can't back the team during a world cup, if they want to rant and rave about how they think they have the solution to "fix Pakistani cricket" from the comfort of their couch - I would be more than happy for them to click that little X in the top right corner of their screen and not log back on PakPassion again :)

Sorry for the long post - however, you awoke the passionate lion that lay deep within

^ Love this. The least we can do is hope for the best. Call me crazy but I really thought Amir started running in with some flair once the crowd started chanting his name. Goes to show we might just need to inject positivity to lift our guys up from this horrible patch.

Jumping the bandwagon !!!

I love this game. I have loved Pakistan cricket team my entire life

We got nothing to lose.

Unleash the cornered tigers, Play like it's last match of you life

Glad you liked it and inshallah we can have more fans backing the boys rather than drowning themselves in self-pity.

Yea I noticed that as well

It was a minor detail which could have easily been lost in what we a terrible day for us, however, as soon as the crowd started chanting Amir's name you could see his game being lifted. He even pulled up from his run up a couple of times and you could see him getting more and more amped up.

I was listening to commentary when driving to Jummah on BBC and the commentary team was saying how despite the game being a foregone conclusion, with the crowd support Pakistan is getting, it's as if they are playing with 12 men and THAT is what we - the fans - need to do.

The way I see it is if we cant fulfil our role of supporting and backing the team 100%, we have no excuse to get annoyed at our team if they don't give 100%.

Only way is up from here.

Ladies and ‘ladas’.

This is the Pakistani team we love and this is the Pakistani team we ‘hate’.

The one which gives us pain and joy.

Do not despair this is the Pakistan Cricket and who knows what will happen in the next few matches.

Ah man can’t wait to see the boys laughing again on the field.

Amir bowled beautiful yesterday just because he got the much needed support from the fans.

Shows what confidence can do.

Keep it up bro... Its the need of an hour.. I can't recall reading your above post that u had made during the CT but dare I say these were some extremely bold predictions ... I seriously didn't give that CT team a chance after the trashing we received from India in the first game but we all know how the campaign ended for us...

But, this time around it looks highly unlikely like every other time but then with Pakistan u "never say never". We have this knack of coming from behind. When our backs are against the wall, this is when we are at our best.We are just one game away to get our mojo back but i just wish it doesn't come too late in the day..

GO Pakistan GO...

Sorry for the long post - however, you awoke the passionate lion that lay deep within

shaz619 Red Devil - it's that time again boys.....

I posted this in another thread, but i think it belongs in this thread:

Let fakhar and asif ali open the batting! Lets fight fire with fire!
Play amir, wahab and hasnain. With strict orders for hasnain and wahab to bowl loads of bouncers and yorkers.
Iron cuts iron.
Lets fight like men and perish if needs be like men!
PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!

Yup just need to get back into the grove inshallah.

In the champions trophy as well - we barely made it into the competition ranked eight and got trashed in the first game so I'm 99% sure that back then their were many many fans saying it's extremely unlikely we wil be able to turn it around just like you mentioned above as well bro :)

In 2009 we got trashed by England in the opener - I was there to witness that first hand at the Oval.

In 1992 we had an horrendous start to our campaign as well.

All I'm saying is write off Pakistan at your own peril. Foreigners have learned that - it's about that Pakistanis do too :)

And what about the 2013 CT? 2015 WC? Where we also started with defeats?

Just cdn't agree more with you.. In sha Allah we will turn it around like every other time.. Couple of Inspirational performances from Fakhar and sarfi would go a long way in lifting up our teams morale ..

Absolutely! Inshallah a few strong performance will help galvanise the team and give them the kick start they need inshallah.

Yea......what's that got to do with the price of potatoes :afaq

I don't quite get what your point is....

Have I said that Pakistan has always won every single ICC competition? Or have I said that since we have had a poor start we will definitely win the World Cup?

I'll repeat what I said in my last post which you quoted....

All I'm saying is write of Pakistan at your own peril. Foreigners have learned that - it's about time Pakistanis do too.

Great thread!

Never lose hope, cos when you do, you have lost!

Inshallah Pakistan will make it to the knockout stages and into the final; at which point many fans and wrist-slitters will be eating humble pie and have *fluke* tatooed on their arms.

Speaking of which, there should be a complimentary Humble Pie thread!

Was just stating facts that's all. It's the counter argument to your post, no more than that.

:)
