A very interesting documentary on Siachen. Feel sorry for those soldiers living in a place like Siachen to protect their country. Surviving in that weather and doing their duty hats off to them.

This reminds me ABC drama

Yea Kashif i remember how he hated it when he was transferred to Saichen :))

2 years of serving at Siachen can change the whole nature of a person. One my uncle served at Siachen during his service in army and he was a totally different person after that.

Feel bad for people who have to guard these places.

Totally agree. Its just the madness & reluctance of Pakistan and India

Agree but issues like siachen are never going to be solved until the Kashmir issue is solved and sadly that's not happening anytime soon.

Two pilots of the Pakistan Army Aviation were killed after their helicopter crashed in Siachen on Monday, Aaj News reported.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said that search and rescue helicopters and army troops have reached the incident site. The martyred pilots have been identified as Major Irfan Bercha and Major Raja Zeeshan Jahanzeb.

In September, a pilot was killed after a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft crashed near Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to a PAF spokesperson, the aircraft was on a routine training mission when it crashed.

Similarly, in August, a PAF aircraft had crashed near Attock, Punjab, during a routine training mission. No loss of life or property was reported and both pilots were safe.

Meet Shiva Chauhan: 1st Woman Army Officer On Operational Duty At Siachen Glacier

Fire and Fury Corps officer Captain Shiva Chauhan became the first woman officer to be operationally deployed at the highest battleground in Kumar Post on the Siachen glacier.

"Capt Shiva Chauhan of Fire and Fury Sappers became the first woman officer to be operationally deployed in Kumar Post, at the highest battlefield of the world," tweeted the official account of Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army.

The Twitter post has added the caption, 'Breaking the Glass Ceiling', celebrating Shiva's feat.

Ms Shiva had to undergo arduous training before her posting in Kumar Post.

The Siachen Glacier is the highest battleground on earth, where India and Pakistan have fought intermittently since 1984.

A team of eight specially-abled people created a world record when they reached Kumar Post at 15,632 feet on the Siachen glacier in September 2021.
