List of TTFs (Tried & Tested Failures)

I was just thinking about creating a list of TTF's (Tried & Tested Failures) here at PP with the help of other PPer's so guys contribute in this thread and let' build a long list of TTF's...

I will start with:

Sir Imran Farhat!

Note: The TTF's can be from any team this thread is not for only Pakistani TTF's...

yes

It was a shame that Nazir was dropped from the Test side quite unfairly. IMO, playing Test Cricket would've helped him develop his temperament - which was the only thing lacking from him tbh because he had some serious talent. Since then he's just become a hack with 1 or 2 decent knocks in T20s.

P Hughes
F Bahardien
R Peterson
Ed Cowan
Vinay Kumar
M Hafeez
Cheema
A Dinda
U Tharanga

All Of these

Re: List of TTF's (Tried & Tested Failures)

A more interesting question is how many games a player needs before he can be deemed a TTF?

(Assuming he justified an opportunity to be selected in the first place)

At the moment it looks like Shehzad is getting ready to make into this list at least in ODIs...I hope i am wrong...

Ahmed "world class" Shehzad has been officially added to this list :malik

Welcome :farhat

Yep. He is a very good T20 and will remain so I guess.

New Imran Nazir but with less natural talent but a bit more composure.

He looks like another Yasir Hameed to me...A century on debut and thn u know rest of the story already...

But overall, he is the new Imran Farhat. Been saying this for a long time now and my fellow peers have seen the light too now :shakib

As usual, I've been proven right.

Yup because he played in FC for 5/6 years before his debut in Test while Shehzad is a product of U19

It isn't all about first class seasons.

Some players have a good understanding of the game and they study it but sadly, Shehzad is more busy taking pics with Gayle and Pollard and modelling his hair on Kohli.

What about Shahid"world class incosistent" Khan "I am bbeter than youngsters" Afridi? He should be the first name after Don :farhat

But when you don't have that much talent thn it's all about hard work you can fix your technique and there are many who did it and they proved to be better thn the so called raw talent...

Hafeez has confirmed his status in Test Cricket as TTF i wonder Rahat is also getting close to be selected :13:

Not from Pakistan, but I remember Marcus North being picked a lot for the Aussies a few years ago.

I can't believe some posters named Asad Shafiq. He is not a TTF, he is just going through a bad patch.

Kamran, Hafeez and Malik 'TTF' Brigade

Made this thread earlier as well, was deleted for some reason. When 3 out of your 6 batsmen are complete failures what do you expect ?

Hafeez 55 @13.75 and AMAZING SR 72
Kamran 48 @12 and SR 85.7
Malik 52 @ 17.3 and SR 100

Looks like the selectors and (some fans) will never learn.

I hope Kamran and Malik's career is ended permanently and Hafeez's ego is brought back to earth and he's dropped to the middle/lower order.

No all three of them are there already my friend. :hafeez :malik :kamran

Man its been a long time since i have seen such a meek surrender.

I always told my team not to play with the fear of losing a game : IK

I always told my team not to play with the fear of losing a game : IK

wise words and the result of this theory. We won the 1992 WC and competed with the strongest team of that ERA.

Need to staple these words to their hands so that they can never forget it.

I made a thread yesterday about the T20 2014 tornament stats of pakistani batsmen to date and they did'nt read well for Kamran Akmal, Mohammed hafeez and shoaib malik. I said it in that thread and a few others which were made on these three by other ppers that these three are a liability with bat in T20 side especially in high profile tornament knockout matches. I am very dissappointed by the loss especially as the match never was close. We lost the match when fifth wicket fell at 42 approximately. Afridi and sohaib tried there best but to be honest the asking run rate had already claimed to 15+ . The last three overs of west indian innings was very poorly handled by our bowlers and captain. Umar gul got one over ( 18th over) in the match and that too he could'nt ball economically leaking 21 runs. Where are the yorkers gone ???? The bowling coach muhammed Akram has been a total failure. Ajmal's last over was painful he gave nearly 24 runs !! He was wicketless and finished at 0-41 from his quota of 4 overs. The last over was only slightly better but still runs were leaked. Tanvir despite my disapproval of him being in the team bowled his four overs rather well today. Pakistan should have restricted windies on about 130-140 maximum.

Four frontline batsmen were dismissed stumped out off bowling of badree and narine. It was shameful to watch the manner of their approach towards badree and narine. They looked panicked before a ball was bowled. I feared today that if our best batsmen shezhad and umar akmal got out cheaply then it will be uphill task cause you can't expect mediocre batsmen like kamran, hafeez and malik to play a match winning innings. Third batsman capable of playing match winning innings after shezhad and umar akmal was afridi. He tried his best under the crisis and rising run rate but to be honest you have to credit west indies for outplaying Pakistan.

Last night i thought long, hard and felt our team was not really title winning one with clutter like kanran, hafeez, malik and tanvir in the team. Although tanvir bowled well today but the other three justified why they should'nt be in future T20 team.

Better selection of players instead of kamran akmal, shoaib malik and mohammed hafeez would have helped pakistan compete better.

With this thrashing we should look for better players who are vastly talented, apply themselves well in highly pressured matches. This should have been the case in first place but each time some idiots in selection panel mess up our squad.

I appeal to all veteran and new pakistanis here to please make threads regarding this issue, build pressure lobby and push out junk players from team.

But overall, he is the new Imran Farhat. Been saying this for a long time now and my fellow peers have seen the light too now :shakib

As usual, I've been proven right.

the more you post, the sillier it sounds :ahmed

Asad Shafiq joining the party soon...or he did already? (Talking about ODIs)

Ahmed "world class" Shehzad has been officially added to this list :malik

Welcome :farhat
:))) :))) :)))
lol what would PP be without Mamoon hahahaha.

And yeah defo, Asad Shafiq is another person who's banged onto that list now.

Shafiq (ODIS) after this series this chapter of his career should be closed.

Wahab Riaz.
Asad shafique
these two guys deserves the award for TTF with certificate

But overall, he is the new Imran Farhat. Been saying this for a long time now and my fellow peers have seen the light too now :shakib

As usual, I've been proven right.

As usual you have been hilariously wrong.

Yep, will admit so. He has been exceptional in the last 6 months across both Tests and ODIs.

:ahmed

I'm just messing with you. Gotta give analytics a little more love Mamoon. Numbers never lie.

There will always be instances where someone's numbers will hide the story but more often than not they are trustworthy. It's why I never had faith in Shafiq and believe in Maqsood, Fawad and Harris.

Of course with guys like Aslam and Babar coming up, Fawad doesn't look like he will have a long term place unfortunately but at least there are some players who actually perform and we can get excited about.

Umar needs to put up though. Today was just unlucky but I hope he can score some runs the next couple of matches.

When a team plays two greatest TTFs at No.2 and No.3 batting position, then never expect a win.

Malik is a TTF, but a don as well so no one can dare to stop him from getting selected again and again.

Bhatti, anwar ali,Hafeez,Malik, tanvir(only T20 hes ok) for sure on this list for me

I wouldn't say Anwar Ali just yet. Still have a ray of hope from him due to his batting. Plus, his bowling wasn't that bad today...

Bhatti, I'm done with though for the time being. He has age on his side, which is a positive, and he should go back to domestics and work hard. Has potential.

Add Imad Wasim to the list as well.

And Hafeez is their king. He sums up everything which's been wrong with Pak cricket in last decade :hafeez

Probably Imad as well

Lol what the hell? He didn't even play that badly today :))

Yeah he didn't make many runs at the pace which was needed but maybe that's a sign that that's not his position. He was far from failing with the ball. Bowled economically when others weren't.
