Liverpool FC | 2024/25 Season

Congratulations to Liverpool on their 2nd PL title.

Top flight 20 or something right :yk3

They will equal united and are still no.1 overall, we’re in the top 7 and could have gone past Spurs if we didn’t fumble the FA Cup.

Liverpool have been miles better than rest of teams in PL this season, on course for 90+ points and only lost 2 league games so far. So fair play to them.

NUMBER 20 !

What an amazing moment. Robbed of this five years ago due to COVID and social distances, finally a league title win in front of fans after 35 years.

Congrats mate, I found it amusing when you couldn’t celebrate in the streets but you will get to this time, just make sure you don’t litter; then again, at least it will be collected :yk

20 league titles, one of the best !

Players worked so hard all season, they deserve the glory .

At Anfield to bring it home, perfect .

Klopp set this team up, Slot utilised this brilliantly.

Amazing stuff from LFC. Congrats to the fans

However, I am sure they would wanted better performance in cup tournaments like - CL, Carabo & FA cup considering the form their team is in.

Thanks guys.

Not even the most optimistic Liverpool fan predicted us winning the league with a new head coach.

Despite the 15pt gap, it's been hard work with so many quality teams. Most of our games have been decided by narrow margins. In another European league, the likes of Villa or Newcastle would be challenging for the title.

Fair play to Slot for making tweaks on klopps team and they way they played. That's helped them massively in the league this season.

Liverpool could end up with 94 points. Yet if you look at the squad, they could get even stronger next season if they replace TAA, Trent, Nunez, Jota with quality replacements.

Congrats to Liverpool, worthy winners.

Slot has done an unbelievable job, to only make one signing (who barely contributed) and pretty much walk the league is some achievement.

He was helped by Klopp laying solid foundations but to take that, add his own style and win is impressive.

Whilst the Premier League as a collective is really competitive if he gets backed in the summer this provides a real opportunity for Liverpool to win multiple titles rather than it be a one off

Slot thanks Klopp moments after Liverpool win title

Liverpool manager Arne Slot paid tribute to his predecessor Jurgen Klopp moments after his side won the Premier League title.

The Reds defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday to clinch a record-equalling 20th top-flight title, with Slot becoming the first Dutch coach to win the Premier League.

"It feels great. I don't think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp," Slot, who replaced Klopp as Liverpool manager last summer, told LFCTV.

The 46-year-old immediately launched into a rendition of the song Klopp asked Liverpool fans to sing after his final game last May, but replaced the lyrics 'Arne Slot' with 'Jurgen Klopp'.

"I am 99.9% sure that if I pick up my phone there will be a message from Jurgen," he told BBC Match of the Day.

"So many moments in the season the two of us have had contact. I think he showed last season what a wonderful human being he is by introducing me.

"But what mattered most is the team he left behind that was able to win the trophy."

Slot, speaking to Sky Sports, added: "The work Jurgen and Pep [Lijnders] did - the culture, work-rate, quality - was outstanding,"

Slot has shown just like a few managers in past, you can take over a side who has fallen short / needs a fresh face / new set ideas and you can get over line.

Yet at other clubs fans act like the club with cease to exist if the manager was sacked, left or moved on.

Klopp would have a also won the league season imo but it's a fair point, a new manager can change a teams fortunes esp if they are not getting over the line.

Liverpool were struggling to replace no.6 after Fabhino when he was at his best but Slot turned Gravenberch into a brilliant 6, hes been outstanding.

Slot was smart enough to do his home work and saw where Liverpool fell short last season.

Also he's changed the roles of certain players and also players workloads and expectations.

Now because Liverpool aren't pressing as much the energy levels later in season are higher. On top of that he's realised players like Salah, Diaz, gapko need to focus on just attacking and not worrying bout defending, pressing to win ball back. The other 8 players in team will do the defensive work. Also he knows players like jota can't play all time so he's used him smartly.

Liverpool should be looking at 4 signings In summer maybe 5.

New LB - kerkerez from Bournemouth would be ideal
New RB - if trent leaves
Replacement for nunez
Replacement for jota

Maybe another midfielder

Will see how ambitious FSG are in backing the manager or if they are content in asking the manager and Edwards to work magic every season.

No klopp wouldn't have win title this year, if Liverpool played same as last year, same burnout would have happened. Klopp went at right time.

I said it beginning of season. Liverpool were more under control under Slot than under Klopp. Less hectic and more possession based, which gave them protection in

I think klopp would have got 83+points , Slot done it with 4 games to go.

Salah and VVd are good signings for us , these two are all time PL XI players imo.

Squad is very good , but I agree those areas must be improved. Imagine if LFC had a 20 goal a season striker ? However Cody G as 9 instead of left wing can get 15 pl goals.

The party is 4 weeks long, great time to a lfc fan

The usual once per season fluke by Nunez. He did it last season at Newcastle as well.

Liverpool got lucky today, but these late winners are mentally taxing and will take its toll them.

Liverpool are jaded and running out of ideas.
Salah as usual disappearing this time of the year.

Arsenal must be licking its lips right now, but it is important to get the job done today.

Emery and Martinez getting owned is always a pleasure to witness.
Another amazing prediction from the Peshawar Jimmy Hill :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@KingKhanWC I'm ready for a mentally taxing trophy lift on May 25.

Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool at end of season

England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed he will leave Premier League champions Liverpool at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old, who has been at the club since he was six, is out of contract on 30 June and is expected to join Real Madrid.

"After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season," Alexander-Arnold announced on social media.

"This is easily the hardest decision I've ever made in my life."

He was one of three high-profile players whose deals at Anfield ran out this summer, but while Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have signed new contracts in recent weeks, Alexander-Arnold will leave.

The Liverpool-born defender has made 352 appearances scored 23 goals for the club since making his debut in 2016.

He has helped them win this season's top-flight title under Arne Slot and also won the Premier League under the Reds' former manager Jurgen Klopp in 2019-20.

His other trophies with Liverpool also include the Champions League in 2018-19, the 2022 FA Cup and two League Cups.

"This club has been my whole life – my whole world - for 20 years," added Alexander-Arnold.

"From the academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever. I will forever be in debt to you all.

"But, I have never known anything else and this decision is about experiencing a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally."

Liverpool said Alexander-Arnold "will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for his contribution during a sustained period of success".
