Looking ahead: India or New Zealand, who will be England's toughest opponents?

Assuming that Aus beat Eng today, they (Eng) need to beat both Ind and Nz who pose different challenges.Which team would be more challenging for Eng?
Discuss.

If we are talking about middle order control obviously that will be India. NZ doesn't have bowlers to control England during middle overs. They can run riot on a good batting strip. But in swinging conditions NZ has the edge as they can wreak havoc upfront.

India all the way .but cannot underestimate nz they are perfoming better than england.England are in deep trouble

Would have to say India, mostly because of India's wrist spinning duo.

They have won the ODI series against us. They are favourites to win against us.

England and SA both won their last ODI series against Pakistan recently. These results doesn't matter much in a WC match.

I think you're spot on with that.

The way they are playing at the moment, both will be tough and they could lose both matches which will mean 4 losses in a row.

If England get Jason Roy back and they bat first I suspect it will be a different team altogether.

They still are in with a chance.

NZ haven’t played their best tbh. They have been lucky here and there when it mattered and need Williamson to do most of the work in the batting department.

India have been more clinical.

India.

Before the tournament I thought the best two teams were England, and then India (just for the record, I had NZ at 3 and PAK at 4). I had England winning all their games and India winning all of theirs, except for England, knowing that asking a team to go through such a long round robin without a loss is tough. It's amazing how England lost their confidence at the exact moment they needed to perform.

The only way I can see England beating India is if fatigue sets into the Indian camp, because they have to play more games than any other team in this last stretch of the tournament since they arrived at the WC late. You could already see it happening with the AFG game, with the Indian batsmen playing like tired, clueless men with the exception of Kohli. If India win another game before the ENG game, they might rotate their players as well since they would have already qualified for semis - and with a desperate England side - ENG might turn their fortunes around. Let's hope they dont :P

If india does lose to England, there are going to be lots of blame and conspiracy theories for sure

From Morgan bhai saying 350-360 is a sub-par score to ENG falling apart for 221, I grew up watching #WC19 :140:

Probably =) But as an Indian cricket fan, how do you rate your chances against a team that has dropped 3 games already (two games to teams at the bottom of the table)?

England is going to take out all the pending frustration by going massive against one of the teams .. so watch out India and Newzealand ..

People are overreacting. England is still a solid team. Starc and company just got key wickets early on. Roy is missing too who is a game changer. India will be the tougher opponent but England will have a very good shot at beating both.

Both.. Ind will trap them with Spin and NZ there is Boult and furgeuson...:moyo2

India but I think England can reach semis with one win as well.

India are beatable with no Dhawan. You get Rohit out and team will be in trouble.

They've managed to win the series only 2-1 despite India playing Deepak Chahars, Umeshs and Sid Kauls! Such is the quality of Eng batting firepower! :91:

India will be the tougher opponents. NZ often do have great starts to the WC until they are met with a major defeat.

Both India and New Zealand can beat England. This is the world Cup. Bat first and set a decent total and 3 quarters of your job is already done.
