Low turnout by Pakistan fans at Edgbaston versus India

KingKhanWC is spot on here, Indians tend to snap all the tickets well in advance and then when they are sold 4x the face value externally then it's just not worth it for them but Indian fans tend to fork out regardless. This Pak v SA game is evidence that there is immense support and would probably outnumber Indians by a margin if Tickets were sold at the gates; the availability for Pak v SA tickets was great throughout until the very last moment and there was no rush for fans to snap them as India were not involved, Pak fans have effectively sold out the entire ground all on their own barely any Saffes but you won't find many in Brum to be fair :))

shaz619 It was the same last CT, there as around 50 Saffer fans and plenty of us. I remember it well even though we were hammered. Indians are well organised, they wake up early, get oline and most being I.T geeks this is normal. Us Pakistani's get hyped up a week or so before but then realise tickets are going for £400 plus and instead book at ticket on PIA for a holiday back home.

Great turnout today. Pak fans in packed stadium are just like fans in footie stadium.:klopp

The atmosphere is brilliant today. Reminds me of the World T20 2009, and if we go further back, the 1999 World Cup.

Also the Natwest Series 2001 with England, Australia and Pakistan. Was a golden time...with amazing players.

Loool yeah dont lose no sleep pal. We love pakistan it is back home.

Good turnout today by the supporters, i wasnt expecting it after the first game debacle

Yeah, it was a brilliant series.

was the series where there was a match conceded to Pakistan due to spectators coming to the ground? If i remember correctly the tournament was kind of dominated by Australia. I think even the final was very one sided

Yes, Waqar was at his best as a bowler and worst as a captain. The 7-fer and 6-fer in consecutive games were legendary.

Yes, there was a lot of trouble with Pakistan fans during that series, every game was interrupted near the end with people running on the pitch. I was present at nearly every game during that series and it was terrible.

Sort of followed on from the 1999 world cup where fans got a little carried away..

The final of 2001 series also had the can thrown at Australian balcony incident.

Is there a better turn out today so far? Anyone at the game? Or is it a home game feel for India

What is the breakup of fans today? 65-35 in favor of India or 60-40 or 70-30 ?

Okay not bad, Pakistan crowd very vocal today.

Credit to all the pak and india fans today, they've been robbed by the ICC who should have done more to limit those who re sold their tickets 10x the face value!

Indians will always outnumber Pakistani's in general - it looks like 70-30, would've been a lot more closer to 50-50 if it wasn't Ramadan. But they're vocal, good to hear.

...or 4x the face value :afridi. Wish I bought some and sold'em on!

It probably has to do with the nasty football hooliganism many "Indian" fans in the UK are adopting. They're not a pleasant bunch to be around. A lot of anti-Pakistani, anti-Muslim comments are hurled from them. It's one thing to be passionate, it's another to be downright rude and classless.

I say "Indian" because my own brother and his fiance were at the 1st match and they had a run in with a couple of rude Indian fans in there section who kept bringing up wars and how great India was. The guy was clearly a British Indian and had never been to India in his life.

My brother turned around and asked him a simple question: If you love India so much, why don't you go live there? The silent look of bewilderment was priceless.

I don't know about others, but that's been my take on it. Also, Indians tend to by a large number of tickets and scalp them.

Another ICC fail. I love how they try and act like FIFA, when they can't even handle a simple tournament ticketing issues.

Probably this is why no neutral support us, every time India is losing everyone from fans online to commentators sound excited and happy. Indian fans can act like monkeys at times.
