Manchester City win the English Premier League (2018/19)

Good day for Liverpool with Man Utd holding Arsenal and Chelsea losing at Wolves. Liverpool roared back at Burnley after being 1-0 down. The commentators seemed to be a bit harsh on Liverpool at half time saying they lacked a cutting edge. That was to be expected with Firmino and Salah on the bench and Mane out injured. Chelsea losing was a big shock where as United struggled as usual.

Liverpool must win the early kick off at Bournemouth to put pressure on City in their evening match at Chelsea. Will be cheering on Leicester against Spurs who I immensely dislike.

Liverpool leading 0-1 vs Bournemouth

Salah doing the business with a hat trick as we easily dismiss Bournemouth without blinking. Would have won even if the first goal had been rightfully ruled as being offside. Slightly concerned over Salah appearing unhappy looking towards someone after each goal. Some good touches from Lallana as well also good to see Mane appear as sub. Now we need to hope Chelsea at least can hold City later on as we prepare for the crucial home match versus Napoli on Tuesday evening.

Manchester United also looking good today! 3-0 against Fulham at the moment

Arsenal not getting a goal yet vs Huddersfield

Chelsea 2-0 Manchester City

Good away win for Spurs. 2 0 at Leicester City. That too with Kane on the bench.

Rumors around Stamford Bridge is that, at half time, Pep wanted to buy Hazard for 256mn, so that he can start him in 2nd half ...... Mansoor himself was brought the hard cash in his private jet. Only that Chelsea's accountant took too long to count it.

Bad defeat for Newcastle. 2-1 to Wolves.

Bad defeat for Newcastle. 2-1 to Wolves.

Matt Doherty headed home in the fifth minute of injury time to give Wolves victory over 10-man Newcastle at St James' Park.

Doherty netted the rebound after Diogo Jota's shot was pushed into his path by Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Jota had given Wolves the lead before the break when he side-footed home.

Ayoze Perez's superb header quickly pulled Newcastle level, but they were reduced to 10 men when DeAndre Yedlin was sent off after 57 minutes.

Newcastle had dominated the first half - Salomon Rondon smashing a free-kick against the crossbar - but came under increasing pressure after Yedlin's dismissal.

Doherty forced a diving save from Dubravka and Raul Jimenez hit the crossbar, before the former struck the decisive blow as the clock ticked down.

Victory is Wolves' second in succession in the Premier League - the first time they have secured back-to-back wins since early October.

Won't be surprised to see United grab an away win against Liverpool today. Purely basing this on a hunch that Liverpool's luck will run out eventually.

Shock defeat for Arsenal as their unbeaten run comes to an end

Southampton 3-2 Arsenal

No problems for Chelsea though,

Brighton 1 -2 Chelsea

Liverpool 3-1 Man U

What a result and what a match for Shaqiri

Wheels are coming of ManU, 19 points behind LFC, after 17 games and they are playing pure garbage soccer - could have lost 6/7-0 today. I know, it's at Anfield, but some of the stats(**?) are scary for MU management - conceding 70% possession, 35-6 out numbered in shots, 14-2 in corner ....

Mou needs to go - he has lost plot, he has lost his dressing room and he has lost confidence on himself. DDG has kept him in job for 2 seasons now and he might leave as early as January next, which will be the end of it for MU; they better take the punch and build a squad from scratch. Instead of a reputed, high profile Manager, I think MU should hire Eddie Howe and give him 2-3 years time, MU still is MU - they just need to settle down and build methodically. My biggest soccer drear was to win EPL, beating MU to the title - nothing can replace ManU - Liverpool in English soccer.

Offensively they have the talent. Another DM to partner Pogba, and RB,LB,and CB with a good manager and they will be back..

Excellent 2 0 win for Liverpool at Wolves.

LFC looking like genuine title contenders.

The last team to lose the title while on top at xmas was Liverpool ! lol

It was an oustanding performance tonight in heavy cold rain. Salah was the MOM but VVD was great in defence as usual and scored a lovely first PL goal.

Long way to go but as long as we keep scoring it will be tough for anyone apart from City to keep up.

Great win again easily taking care of Wolves who we'll be facing again in the FA Cup in a few weeks. Van Dijk has made a massive difference to Liverpool at the back. He even looks a threat up front as we witnessed today with a finish that any forward would be proud off. The crucial match will be when we visit Man City very soon, it will be a six pointer. Providing both keep on winning until then a victory for 'pool would then put clear daylight between us and them. Salah is back on form as well and the bench looks powerful too.

Woah!! United scored 5 and City lost at home to Crystal Palace...
Multiverse is real and I managed to spontaneously travel to a different universe.

Ole making a good start with Man Utd. Keep in mind they defeated a very average side nonetheless a great start for him. It will give his Man Utd side a lot of confidence. I want him to become the permanent manager of Man Utd so he can waste them up again:rp

What a day yesterday was. Shock results, great goals, good performance by United. Was very fun watching this MOTD

What an week for Liverpool. In 10 days time, we are 6 points ahead from 2 down. Need 3 points against Gunners at home & avoid defeat at Etihad, we are half way. And we are at pet with GD now with City. Need at least couple of re-enactments in January - may be a defender and a striker; icing on the cake will be another additional wide player. Pavard, Fekir/Plucis and Warner!!!!!!😜

Sometimes you have to be realistic. Those players aren't going to leave in January.

City 3rd in the table. What !!!!
1 billion plus January window is coming.

I think, Pavard is in his last year of contract at Stuttgart, his current value of ~£35mn might go significantly lower after January window, his wage is much lower as well. Also, from this year European competitions are not cup tied (he can play against Bayern) - if Klopp really wants to bring a versatile defender, Pavard might be available and Stuttgart won’t mind a mega profit.

Nabil has declined to extend his contract, which should expire in 18 months and he is depreciating fast for transfer fee - might come for the right wage (I read his after tax wage at Lyon is less than £50k/week). Plusic will leave Dortmund in January or July - Favre has changed their formation and Pulisic has lost his starting position to Sancho. Pulisic was Klopp’s pick at BVB, might join again. Warner also is running out his contract and he’ll change club in January or July. There is another option in Insagnia or Jovic, but we’ll have to sell Sturridge or Origi for that. For last couple of months, Firmino’s production is almost nil - not bringing a striker is risky after loaning Inggs as well.

The game changer now is the euro cup tie - previously players were not interested to change club mid season, I am sure you’ll lot more movement this January. Rabbiot will also leave PSG for sure. For the sake of saying, even Dembele might leave Barca in January!!!

I think, availability of player isn’t an issue, neither fund; key is - does Klopp really want to bring new players in mid season? It’s really difficult to integrate attacking players into a system middle of the season, but it’s easier for back line, Pavard can happen. Or at least he’ll bring some defensive back up for sure. Throgan Hazard, Ramsey .... you never know. Klopp has the core fixed, I am sure now he’ll get players to fill in the gaps, if he wishes. Last year, he did bring VVD in January. Suarez & Carroll also came in January and Torres, Coutinho left in January.

Was Fekir not linked for a move to LFC?

Man City lose. Arsenal draw as are Chelsea at the time of writing. Man Utd and Spurs both win as did Liverpool extending our lead to six at the top of the league. Now we have two tough matches against Arsenal at home then a visit to Man City. I will be happy if we can get four points from these two matches. I don't want to jinx our season but it's looking good at the time of writing:sarf2 There is plenty on the bench as well should we need to change things so :sendoff at those supporters who say we can't compete with Man City due to our inferior spending budget. Lets also laugh at Coutinho who left us forcefully to improve his career and now can''t even get a game for Barca, serves him right:rp I bet he greatly regrets what he did now. I would still like to see some transfer activity in Jan if the gaffer deems it necessary. I am thinking Rabiot, Fekir or Pulisic.

Haha but yes City need to buy this transfer window. Imo they need another goalscorer, Jesus hasn't been very good and Sergio not at his lethal best. Isco could be a target for their midfield too.

But what a great day of football once again in the PL.

6 points clear for Liverpool is a dream for us fans but a long way to go. It's vital our best players stay fit. Every game is a big game from now on.

What City really need is back up for Fernandinho and Mendy. Lack of goals hasn't really been an issue for them. Mendy was immense for them and gave them natural width on the left.

Teams are also figuring out how to play against a team that will play you off the park. Play high energy defensive mids and fast attackers to counter with. I think Liverpool might actually upset City by playing both Henderson, Fabinho and Gini in midfield. Having only disrupters in midfield and hitting City on the break. The interesting thing is that City could easily let Liverpool have more possession and try and hit them on the break instead. City have quick attackers as well. Liverpool don't have enough creativity and subtlety in central midfield.

This isn't football manager/fifa 19. You'd be lucky if Liverpool sign 1 player. There's no chance of them signing 3.

Fekir is dead in the water.

BVB won't let Pulisic go until the summer. They won't compromise on their own title chase just to help Liverpool's. Rumour has it, he has an agreement with a team already.

Similarly Leipzig won't let Werner leave until the summer either.

Pavard might be the most realistic as he has a buy out clause in his contract kicking in the summer but again I think Bayern are winning that race.

Liverpool should make a signing or two to add depth but I wouldn't necessarily hold my breathe.

Rabiot is realistic, Fekir is doubtful and Pulisic isn't good enough

Bayern have apparently agreed to sign him in the summer. If he is avaliable you won't be the only club interested.

Yes players can leave . I agree with the rule changes anything is possible. But you have to understand , the players have to want to join Liverpool and they have to be made avaliable. Also if they are avaliable there is no gaurntuee that you will get a free swing with that player.

Why would Fekir want to Join Liverpool after being publicly humiliated about his knee injury when he has been fit for most of the season?

I agree with Pulisic he will leave. I think it will be in the summer though.

EPL has its first Bangladeshi origin player - Hamza Choudhury. 21 years young man played brilliantly against MCity for Leicester.

He made his PL debut last season actually but this might be his breakthrough season. Started two games in a row and was impressive against City.

West Ham: Samir Nasri signs for Hammers on day doping ban ends

West Ham have signed former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri - on the day he completes a doping ban.

The 31-year-old Frenchman has been without a club since 31 January, after leaving Turkish club Antalyaspor.

Nasri, who has signed a deal until the end of the season, served an 18-month doping ban for using an intravenous drip treatment but is available to play again from 1 January.

He won two Premier League titles and the League Cup in six years with City.

"Coming back to the most competitive league in the world, with a team full of ambition with a manager that I know.... it's the best job in the world, and I'm really excited about it," said Nasri.

Nasri has made 215 appearances in the Premier League, playing for Arsenal from 2008 to 2011 before moving to City for £25m.

There he played under Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini but fell out of favour following the arrival of Pep Guardiola and spent a loan spell with Sevilla.

Pellegrini told the Hammers' website: "I am happy to be working with him again.

"He has been working very hard in recent weeks to build up his fitness and condition after a long period without playing, and he is now very determined to return to his best."

Nasri was initially banned for six months for taking an intravenous drip that contravened World Anti-Doping Agency rules.

It was alleged that in 2016, while on loan to Sevilla, he received 500 millilitres of hydration in the form of sterile water containing micronutrient components, which exceeds the permissible limit.

In February 2017, a request by Sevilla for a retroactive therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for Nasri was refused by Uefa.

In August 2018, Uefa extended the ban from six to 18 months, backdated to 1 July 2017.

West Ham have the option to extend Nasri's contract by a year.

The transfer window opens tomorrow. I expect Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and perhaps Spurs to be the busiest. Don't expect much to happen at Liverpool or Man City.

Oh my god, Liverpool will win this. Wont be able to stand the scousers, qiyamat is near everyone. I think all non-LFC fans would agree - anyone but them.

Arsenal 1-0 Fulham but Arsneal living on the edge here
