Guys,

I have relatives over from Italy here in the Netherlands.

My aunt was telling that most Pakistanis in Italy are moving to the UK.

Apart from that Pakistani people in the UK can call over relatives from Pakistan as well.

Is this true as this seems reallt strange. As this is resulting in mass immigration.

First I've heard of it. You would think there would have been some alarmist stories by now if it were true.

Why are they moving anyway? Did they all lose their Italian visas en masse?

A lot of Italians are moving to the UK not just Pakistanis. It’s a reflection of the socio economic conditions there.

Now since they are EU citizens they are now eligible for marriage visas with more lax requirements and get their spouses over

Well they are moving big numbers as they believe moving to the UK is better for them money wise.

Correct but even people from Pakistan coming over as the people living in the UK have the right to let their relatives come over.

Question is what does the UK achieve with importing 40 year plus Pakistani men with hardly any educational background?

The same as they will gain from any uneducated immigrants from any part of Europe. Not much, but this is what free movement has been about I guess. Also one of the reasons we voted for Brexit.

40 year plus pakistani men with no educational background do jobs which your regular joe would be hesitant on doing.

I have seen PK from Spain, Fr, Ger and Den come here. Tbh they are better than the local PK chavs whose obsession with money has led to a whole generation of kids who are addicted to drugs and can barely read or write.

Probably because of this fascist wannabe PM Salvini who is whipping up hysteria against immigrants.

How many jobs are there for the lower class. At the moment its like an open door.

Its a weird rule that allows you to bring ovee your whole family to the UK.

and the people voted for a brexit.

I don’t believe the UK policy allows for these guys to come over from Pakistan straight without a valid work visa. I don’t know much about Italian immigration laws tbh

Not everything is about the far right tbh. You see young white italians leave due to the lack of jobs.

Also before lumping people under racist baskets, you should check the economic situation in Italy and other frontline states. They dont have the resources to deal with the exodus of uneducated migrants just because the rulers sitting in Germany and France thought so.

Why do you consider Italy a frontline state?

Mass Immigration to UK has been going on for long time , sometimes as refugees , sometimes as students , sometimes as spouse.

Because they are the ones receiving migrants from Africa. A few of their port towns and cities simply don’t have the infrastructure to house and receive the flow

So where do young white Italians go to find jobs when they leave Italy?

The reason is very simple. The parents want their kids to study in an English speaking country with a substantial desi community. Pakistani community living in Italy is very conservative and they aren’t Integrated at all in the Italian society.

So they are doing the same as Pakistani Italians and flocking to the UK? Is that also the fault of Germany and France? :91:
??

Do you read before commenting? Italy is facing a net immigration of skilled labour, Pakistani or white Italians, as their economy is mismanaged. Salvini winning was the culmination of several factors not just racism

I read that you were blaming Germany and France. I am still trying to work out why they get the blame for Italy mismanaging their economy?

Read again. Never blamed them. Said Italy doesn’t have the resources to handle the migrant crisis given the way Germany and France exacerbated the situation

There is no doubt that many of the PK and other nationalities want to get to the UK from Europe. We are told that UK is racist by everybody but it isnt- no doubt has problems but in comparison it is calm.

The UK doesn't have room for more migrants we have enough foreign uber drivers as it is. That's not being racist, just realistic.

Then why is the government allowing PAK people in the UK let their relatives come over in big numbers?

How big are the numbers? In Britain the main obstacle for any immigrant is to be granted a passport in the first place, if they qualify then the reasoning is that their immediate families should be allowed as well. I don't see anything wrong with that.

UK migration: Net migration from outside EU hits 'highest level'

Net migration to the UK from countries outside the European Union has risen to its highest level for 45 years, the Office for National Statistics says.

Figures show an estimated 282,000 more non-EU citizens came to the UK than left in 2019, the highest since the information was first gathered in 1975.

The ONS says a rise in students from China and India has driven this.

In contrast, the number of people arriving from EU countries for work has "steadily fallen".

In 2019, an estimated 49,000 more EU citizens came to the UK than left - down from the "peak levels" of more than 200,000 in 2015 and early 2016, the ONS says.

In total, an estimated 270,000 more people moved to the UK with an intention to stay for 12 months or more than left the UK in 2019.

The ONS says more than 677,000 people moved to the UK and about 407,000 people left.

Jay Lindop, director of the Centre for International Migration at the ONS, said: "Overall migration levels have remained broadly stable in recent years, but new patterns have emerged for EU and non-EU migrants since 2016.

"For the year ending December 2019, non-EU migration was at the highest level we have seen, driven by a rise in students from China and India, while the number of people arriving from EU countries for work has steadily fallen.

"We know the coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on travel since December and new analysis today shows how international travel to and from the UK has decreased in recent months."

The ONS says overall migration levels "have remained broadly stable" since the end of 2016, but patterns for EU and non-EU citizens "have followed different trends".

"This in part reflects the different trends in immigration for employment and study, with EU migrants predominantly arriving for work-related reasons and non-EU migrants arriving for study," its report says.

Pandemic impact

Rob McNeil, deputy director of the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford, said it was "too early to quantify how the pandemic will affect migration to the UK".

But he said it was clear that the consequences of coronavirus "already reach right across the immigration system - from workers' inability to travel to take up work and employers' difficulty bringing seasonal workers to British fields, to sharp reductions in the number of people detained and deported".

He said the crisis raised questions on whether employers in the UK will still want to recruit from overseas or if international students will still apply and take up places at British universities.

Eight ways new immigration laws will affect industry
Matthew Fell, chief UK policy director of the Confederation of British Industry, said businesses were "currently prioritising safety and protecting jobs during this period of unprecedented stress", saying: "For now, some businesses are less likely to hire from overseas than before the crisis.

"But many others will need to access the new immigration system to help grow the UK economy and have little capacity to prepare for it.

"Time is running out if government and business are to implement this well."

He called for the publication of more information on how the UK's new points-based immigration system would work to enable a "pragmatic conversation about the time it will take to implement".
