I'd say that Ajmal won that battle but that last ball six closed the gap.

The reason Ajmal didn't get a 6fer is becaue he was intentionally taken off the attack to make the match more interesting.

No one could have known they would score 293 but at that time, if Ajmal was there, ROW could have been rolled out for sub 100 total.
