The pregame focus was entirely on Warne and Murali. The indifference toward Ajmal was very noticeable.

Lol! Ajmal is without a doubt world class. Which current team won't he walk into, blindfolded? Beent eh best in the world for the last four years.
 
Ajmal bowling some peaches! What a joy to watch!! Having said that, he should have been pitted against Sachin, Dravid, Lara and the likes.. not jokers like Afridi or Tamim Iqbal. At least Sehwag should have stayed longer to face Ajmal.. He would have played him well

Sehwag is a joker with no technique. Would have gotten owned on the first ball.
 
The dream of seeing Sachin and Lara bat together is looking extremely bleak. Hang on... Gul won't be fielding or bowling in this match again and MCC are a bowler short. Some hope for ROW.
 
Gul injured and won't bowl anymore.

Embarrassing that a current international bowler has gone for the rest of the innings before Tait!

Just because he smashed an injured, out of form Saqlain, people think he's one of the best players of spin of all time which he is not. A good player but nothing to suggest that he'd destroy Ajmal.

Yeah they gave one side ATG bowlers and the others ATG batsman without realizing that ajmal is on par with warne and murali in ODI cricket and could run through them. They had way to high hopes on gilly and TBH the way he was smashing the pacers i did too. :P :P

Waisay gilly can still play., Smashed pace with ease.

This should have been a test match! 100 overs is not enough to watch these legends #sachin #lara #dravid
 
You guys won't be able to prove anything with your 'Ajmal would have' and 'Sehwag would have' so better to cut it out!

Exactly. The way he smacked Tait around the ground was special.

The way he played Mendis (when no one knew what to do) on raging turners was shocking.

He was smacking him. Smacked all other spinners too. Took out Narine too.

Sehwag's record against spinners don't show well cos he shows contempt when playing them and tries one too many shots and gets out.

Sehwag vs Ajmal would have been actually fun.
 
Yuvraj should inject some life into this match or we'll not be able to watch all those battles between Sachin, Warne and Lara, Murali

Avg in matches where Warne or Murali played is around 66 in tests with 5 hundreds.
 
Match is boring. Either Yuvi should start hitting or Sachin should bring up Ajmal and finish off the game.

Pretty much.
Stats show that Michael Clarke's rate of getting stumped is far higher than most Australian batsmen in history. But that is because he is a good player of spin and far more comfortable going out of the crease.

Bro i call sehwag many things including a pure FTB but he was one of the best players of spin around. Destroyed spinners and if it was a flat track he would destroy spinners and pacers. His hand eye co ordination and the ability to actually look where he is sending the ball (a skill afridi lacks) made him pure destruction at its finest.

Ofcourse now he is a mere shadow of his former self and ajmal would have eaten him alive.

Brilliant.

I am referring to average against spinners in general.

I read a cricinfo article a long time back and the stats would make it look like he is better against pacers.

IIRC, Mendis was exposed by our own "world-class batsmen", so its no big deal if Sehwag, who is a top quality batsman, did it too. I don't think the "showing contempt" part is a very good excuse, otherwise Afridi only gets out because he shows contempt for all bowlers.

Also, Ajmal is probably the best ODI spinner of all time so I doubt anyone would have destroyed him like some people people are claiming.

Yep stats don't do justice. In fact, it can blatantly mislead people in some cases.
 
What is wrong with Sachin Tendulkar??

People are not here to see Aaron Finch. You rather see Sachin or even Dravid or even Lara bowl then stupid Finch

Ganguly & Siddhu at their prime vs Ajmal would be amazing contest. They tend to go crazy vs Off spinners.

Sorry bud, you have no idea what you are talking about.

The same Indian batsman who ripped apart Murali, Warne, etc in tests were finding Mendis tough to play. This was BEFORE he was decoded. Much before.

In that series, Sehwag took him out.

Sehwag was brillaint againist almost all spiners of his time.

And no Ajmal isnt the best ODI spinner.Saqi and Murali both are comfortably better than Ajmal.

Saqlain >> Ajmal in ODIs.
 
Thanks to gilly there run rate is still on 5.40 Man we should get gilly as our opener. We need a few starts like that especially against pacers.
 
Isn't this match fixing? Taking Ajmal off is fixing the match and not acting in an honest manner.

Its an exhibition match. Giving everyone a chance to shine would be encouraged by everyone.

People have come here to watch Sachin, Warne, Lara, Dravid and Murali. Enough scre should be made in the 1st innings for that.. Not a bad idea
 
This match is dead. Sachin should bowl himself to get the crowd interested again.
 
I hope Sachin doesn't open in this match. I rather see him bat when Murli and Warne are bowling.
 
Well they are slowly going towards rebuilding. Should bring in erratic pacers to help the process.
 
UVI batting slower than Collingwood but he can make it up at the death, if he survives that long.
 
Regarding Ajmal vs Saqlain. I think Saqlain was the best ODI spinner in history. But Ajmal is far better test bowler than Saqlain.

What hatred. Difference of opinion is fine but to slander someone reeks of jealousy and low class attitude.
