I haven't heard that word......

I do know there's a word called "Bashaarat" which means good news, I think...

Guys - please don't ask about 18+ words, whether off Q-TV or elsewhere.

Thanks! :)

:))

CD bhai it is not complicated at all - just beautiful and vast. :)

Khush khabri is good news.

Basharat is anticipation of future good news.

JazakAllah Khair :)

I believe I am one who find it compliacted as I hardly understand PHd level urdu words :)

Kashmakash?

Paimana?

Safaqat?

Attharwien Tarmeem :p

what do they mean?

Kashmakash? dilemma

Paimana? A goblet

Safaqat? i think you meaning saqafat : culture

Attharwien Tarmeem :p - 18th amendment

I thought paimana was also a "scale"...

E.g: Selaab ki tabahkaariya barey paimanay per logo ko mutasir kiya..
(translation - The destruction from the floods have affected a large scale/greater of the population)

Yes good point. Basically, its related to being a measuring device as I wrote above, and scale too - so barey paimanay per - of great magnitude.

Question: What does 'e-poondiyan ' mean?
Lol.

Poondi is slang for when you check out members of the opposite sex for leisure. For example "Woh shopping mall poondi karnay gaya tha."

e-poondi I guess refers to doing this online.

Hi all,
Not really sure if its all punjabi or a mix of Urdu and Punjabi but would really appreciate if someone could correct(if wrong) and give meanings for the following lines from the Reshma Song "ve main tere naal la laiyan akhaan ve"

duniya toh jhakana te main pyar tera rakha

pyar peeche har koi mittiyan vi chhan daa disda na ik pal vaeri meri jaan da

changayan main jhata tenu lakha jind jaan tu rag gayiyan bhanwe biba jag toh jahan toh das "manzoor" kive dil nu main dakaan ve main chori chori tere

Also whats the meaning of

DHOLA
HIJR
Is there a difference between MURAAD and DUA??

Dhola - dholna - in Punjabi, it might even mean lover.. but Dhol is a drum instrument as well.

Hijr - hijarat - migration.

Muraad is a wish/desire. Eg: Merey dil ki/dilli muraad hay ke...... OR Saari muraadein poori ho gai.. (My heart's desire is...... OR All my wishes came true..)

Dua is a prayer. It's when you specially ask God for something. Eg: Mein ne apne abbu ki sehat ke liye dua ki...
(I prayed for my father's health).
