Mention your best revenge moments in the history of cricket

Nothing is bigger in cricket than the comeback of Indian team after getting 36 all out in Australia. It will be talked about in decades to come as the greatest revenge in entire history of cricket since the inception of this great sport.

With main players out and back to the wall:

1. They won in MCG Boxing test

2. Drew in Sydney with a partnership between Ashwin and Vihary

3. And finally breached the fortress Gabba and defeated Australia there after 43 years with a bowling attack of T.Natarajan, Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar.

No series can beat this.

Just don't wanna be reminded of everyone leaving the final 2 hours before the games conclusion or their impossible to beat 180 record.

Sohail and Prasad, circa 1996
Every World Cup India terminates some Pakistani legend: 1992 make Miandad a mockery, 1996 ended his career and Sohail would never live down his moment of humble pie, 1999 was just a reminder of how utterly clueless Pakistan is against India in the World Cup, 2003 ended the Waqar and Wasim legend and the Akhtar that survived would become a joke, 2011 left the Pakistanis scrambling for self confidence, 2015 turns the Pakistanis against themselves, 2018 India should really have only batted for 35 overs as the Pakistani team was at a 30% handicap, 2023 wounds won’t heal for a while…

It just feels that if viewed in microcosm of the world cups, India needs to now follow the mercy rule with their neighbors.

The best revenge moment for me…I have two

1. Pakistan loses to USA, exposing everything wrong with Pakistan cricket

2. When Pakistan lost to India in New York especially when one person was making mithai orders midway through the game, tagging people to gloat….claiming he will always have the last laugh

Alhamdolillah, what a humbling that was served that day!
Wondering how are these a revenge a moment:unsure:
I think those were the most shamefull moments for Pakistan cricket.

Covid and the cricket+ the fans it brought was the most shameful time for Pakistan cricket.

Asia Cup 2010 needing 6 in last over, Harbhajan hit Akhtar to win the game for India and over celebrated it

2012 Asia Cup Pakistan chasing a big Total vs India were behind the rate only for Afridi to hit Ashwin in final over for a couple of big blows to celebrate it graciously.

Revenge is best when served cold. :don

Most teams still waiting to extract revenge against Aussies
=====
Most consecutive wins in men's ODIs:

At one point, the Aussies had a 36-match winning streak, which I believe was in World Cup games. I think Pakistan broke the streak, with Kamran Akmal playing a key role in ending it. It’s been so long, I can’t remember the details clearly.

Rizwan’s shot against India in the WT20, my revenge against nakli Pakistan cricket fans, complete.

Revenge isn’t in my vocabulary. Revenge is associated with hatred, envy, contempt. I left all this behind when i walked in the path of Sanatan Dharma. My sanskars call me to do my duties, to compete hard to the best of my ability and to always protect the honour of Dharma. I am driven by love and not hate.

That being said, 2008 WACA test win at Perth immediately after the Sydney Test fiasco where bad umpiring and honourless conduct by Aussie cricketers screwed us, and on top of that the Monkey gate court battle + Aussie media hate campaign against us. It all made the Perth Test win a massive achievement.

You are perhaps the only Indian I have come across who doesn’t believe in revenge.

In Hinduism, the concept of karma plays a central role in discouraging vengeance and promoting a path of forgiveness and detachment. Every negative action creates an energy that eventually comes back to the individual. As is commonly known “What goes around, comes around.” If someone wrongs another, they accumulate negative karma, which will manifest as suffering in their own life, either in this birth or the next.

Taking revenge also creates new negative karma for the avenger, perpetuating a cycle of suffering and rebirth

This is how fundamentally the concept of Vengeance is not celebrated in Hindu belief system. No one is perfect however and ordinary people often act in vengeance not knowing they are digging a deeper hole for themselves and those around them.

Interesting. If Hindus dont believe in vengeance then why do we have so many hindu extremists?
