Pakistan ran South Africa close almost the entire first test - at their home.
They lost the game when they lost their heads.
This is how they have lost series after series - home and abroad - lose their heads in one session, which then defines the entire series.
"Fear" is the enemy.
A strong leader takes fear out of themselves and their teams. Sarfaraz has so far not shown that strength.
But it doesn't have to be the captain - who in the team will drag everyone by the scruff of their necks and take them over the line? Abbas? Fakhar? Babar?
If no one stands up, this game is as good as lost already - no matter how deep into the game Pakistan competes.
But if someone stands up, then there is a real chance. SA are not as strong in batting without ABDV and their bowling can have an off day or two.
