Kashmir Premier League's President Arif Malik has said that Pakistan Cricket Board has shown their sheer trust on KPL by permitting the NOC for Kashmir Premier League Season 2 and for this we are immensely grateful to PCB, this is not just an achievement of KPL management but this belongs to each and every Kashmiri who has yearned to have this League organized.

He further said that; we have witnessed in Season 1 alongside Azad Jammu Kashmir the people of Occupied Kashmir have also followed the matches with tremendous joy and enthusiasm, the amount of fame our League has in Azad Jammu Kashmir is same as it has attained in Occupied Kashmir.

He said that KPL will come up with more opportunities for the Kashmiri cricketers as this League purely belongs to Kashmiri cricketers, the preparations for this League are gearing up into it's final stage and this season will bring more exciting matches that will be massively sensational for the cricket fans from Pakistan accompanied with fans from the entire world.

Arif Malik said that Kashmir Premier League Season 2 has included another team that has now taken the total from 6 teams to 7 exclusively, in the coming days every player of world will desire upon being a part of KPL, Arif Malik has further said that we have confronted numerous challenges in organizing Season 2 but with the grace of almighty Allah we have accomplished every challenge and have provided all the necessary material they had demanded from us, KPL Season 2 audit report has also been collated we wholeheartedly express our immense gratitude to Pakistan Cricket Board for their support.

Kashmir Premier League's Vice President Wasim Akram said that there is no competition of Kashmir Premier League with Pakistan Super League (PSL), KPL is the first step for cricketers to emerge, as the first Season of the League had produced two skillful players like Salman Irshad and Zamaan Khan, they have marked their place in PSL with outstanding performances, just like that every other player of KPL can perform well to progress ahead and make it to the Pakistan's National Team.

Waseem Akram has further said that Kashmir Premier League aims to run alongside Pakistan Super League, KPL is serving like a nursery where cricketers for PSL will get prepared, it has been said about Kashmiri cricketers that they don't get chance here so, KPL is a platform for them where they can perform to prove their talent.

Vice President of KPL Wasim Akram said that Kashmir Premier League's first Season was a massive success and the reason behind was the President of KPL Arif Malik and untiring efforts of CEO Shehzad Akhtar. We have decided to provide the people of Kashmir a good experience of cricket with no compromise on the quality this has made the first Season a triumph and now Season 2 will be organized as another pinnacle.

He further said that Kashmir is filled with breathtaking beauty and heaven's sights of the valley also the people of Kashmir are very graceful and loving, as cricket enthusiasts they appreciate watching cricket also besides having a keen desire to play cricket, in Season 2 they will get to witness more quality cricket.

Speaking to media:

Would you like to give any message to BCCI and Indian cricket fans about KPL season 2?

"I just want to tell them, 'KPL 2 is happening'

About his role with the Jammu Janbaz.

"They [KPL management] are not letting me retire"

"I will try my best to play a couple of matches. It's the love of my fans who still want to watch me playing"

Shahid Afridi also said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should allow the national team players to play a few matches in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) if not all.

Well lala BCCI can't do a thing about this tournament other then cry! We are not asking India to recognize it either:abbas2

Wasim Akram:

“People think KPL is in competition with PSL but that is not the case. KPL serves as a nursery that will provide players to the PSL"

“KPL proved a stepping stone for players like Zaman Khan and Salman Irshad, and every Kashmiri player can advance like these two"

I don't think most Indians give a toss about KPL, as much as we would expect Pakistanis to care about a TNPL. Its just another domestic tournament. But if course, with geopolitics taken into consideration, its natural for there to be an opposition to it from the board, but I can also imagine Rameez and Saurav having a laugh about it.
Just curious to know the team names? I see a Jammu, is there a a Ladakh too?

Even our Jammu has a team here.
It's spectacular. Looking forward to follow this edition but it won't be broadcasted here.

There are some big players like Shahid Afridi and Sarfaraz Ahmed are participating in KPL2, we also have senior player Shoaib Malik in our team. Hoping our boys will put up an excellent show, so fans keep supporting Mirpur Royals..

He has played the role of a coach for multiple teams in the Pakistan Super League too, Inshallah under his mentorship our team will perform beyond expectation..

The squads are as good as they can be considering the circumstances. I hope some of the new Kashmiri players stand out and get a chance to play in the PSL.

I'm surprised to see Haseebullah in the diamond category already. He only just started playing proper domestic cricket this year.

Haseebullah being in diamond is more to do with the players he is competing with. KPL is turning out to be a brilliant platform for young Kashmiri players (We say Zaman Khan coming to the reckoning last season and Salman Irshad improving) and other young players also get a lot of opportunities here. Kamran Ghulam's growth as a T20, LOI batsmen was displayed within the KPL's first season itself.

Players proving themselves here can get PSL contracts as well as will be coming in the radar of the domestic main team selections as well.

Wasim Akram:

"All teams are good but our focus is to lift the trophy,"

"We have discussed promotion of cricket. We aim to start a talent hunt program after KPL 2. Through this talent hunt program, we will find real talent and give them opportunity in KPL 3,"

Hopefully captaincy stint will help Faheem grow as a cricketer. Sometimes opportunity to lead really adds new dimensions to an individual.

Young players I am excited to see how they perform at such a platform as this would be the first time or so they will be playing in a T20 league other then domestic or junior level cricket;

1) Mohammad Shahzad (Opening batsman/pace bowler) (18)
2) Saroon Siraj (Batsman) (24)
3) Mohammad Sarwar (Batting-All rounder/Pacer) (27)
4) Mushtaq Ahmed Kalohoro (Pacer) (25)
5) Haseebullah (Opening Wicket keeper batsman) (19)
6) Aaqib Liaqat (Leg spinner) (21)
7) Ihsanullah (Tall pacer - Played a match or two for MS) (20)
8) Mehran Mumtaz (SLA) (19)
9) Ahmed Khan (Pace bowling all rounder) (18)
10) Faisal Akram (Chinamen) (18)

There would be few others as well who will be having their very initial exposure to such a platform and some might create an impression for their domestic as well as PSL teams.

Daryll Cullinan and Nick Compton also part of the commentary and presentation team.

Some impressive new kits surely as shown in the mini interview packages of a player or two of the teams.

Rawlakot has won the toss and elected to bowl first.

There is Zero to nil coverage of KPL.
Cricinfo is covering even regional domestic leagues of every nation.
But they aren't showing any of this.
Any Website to cover Match scores, etc.?
Any Broadcasting, any channel showing this?
They should have provided live stream on YouTube.

Remember the Indian connection.

Rawalkot declared winners after rain did not allow the match to be completed.

Jammu Janbaz batting first scored 178/4 in 20 overs.

Rawalkot Hawks scored 50 runs in 5.1 overs when play was interrupted by rain.

cricwick.net is showing scorecards thankfully.

Can Pakpassion make a seperate window/tab where the scorecards of (KPL atleast) matches are shown like how other sides show scoreboards for matches. Like update it once the inning is over or after the match.

cricinfo is playing into bcci hand's by not covering it. PP can show it I hope.

Dissappointed with the empty stadium. There is hardly any cricket played in Muzaffarabad and still the spectators are not turning up. Have people in Pakistan lost interest in Cricket?

I am from muzaffarabad. People are not coming because during day match weather is very hot and during night matches, it rains. People know that night matches are not gonna happen. Thats why we are not going to the stadium.

Is anyone watching the KPL on geo news in the UK?

One of the worst production qualities I’ve ever seen. Almost every ball is missed because the screen freezes and glitches. Awful background noise. Production team are speaking on live tv giving instructions to commentators etc.

Who is in charge of this?

He is one of the few batsmen Pakistan have that can bash spinners at a 150+ SR.

There aren't going to be many spinners in wt20 as it is in Australia.

If you're talking about Asia Cup solely, then Shoaib Malik is a much more accomplished batter of spin who can both hit and maneuvre the ball around there. Plus he also won't cost 20-25 runs in the field.

It's why he wasn't selected for this WC and why he was selected in previous T20 WC when it was held in UAE even though people completely lost their minds.

Shoaib Malik's Mirpur Royals have suffered their first defeat in the second edition of Kashmir Premier League. Umar Amin's Bagh Stallions won an exciting game by 8 runs. At the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium, Mirpur Royals once again won the toss & opted to bowl first. Spinners bowled well upfront, only twenty four runs scored in first five overs. Then Sohaib Maqsood took over the command, smashing unbeaten 73 runs on 52 balls. Hasan Raza contributed 36 and Mohammad Sarwar 27 runs. Bagh Stallions finished the innings with 189 for 5 in 20 overs. Leg spinner Abrar Ahmed and Yasir Shah took two wickets each.

In pursuit of the stiff target, Mirpur Royals batters gave a strong response. Ali Imran and Hassan Nawaz socred 47 runs each while captain Shoaib Malik went to the pavilion with 42 runs on his credit. Haris Sohail also tried hard but the target was far behind. Mirpur Royals could manage to score 181 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.

Mirpur Royals will play their third game in KPL2 against Overseas Warriors on Thursday.
