Misbah-ul-Haq 47* Not Out

Horrible coach and I think he is ruining his legacy but what a hundred that was at Lord’s, and also the best celebration I have seen after that a very close second would be Talk Nah :))

He may not be everyone's cup of tea as a coach, but this man brought Pakistan back to life as the skipper.

After the spot-fixing debacle, Pakistan cricket was on its knees and Misbah has to take credit for turning things around and restoring the good name of Pakistan cricket.

Misbah's hundred at Lords is same as Rahane's hundred in Melbourne. Two captains leading their team from front and uplifting their team's performance by two masterclass.

Can’t wait to see the back of this selfish, greedy and rondu guy.

Too true mate, he’s ruining his legacy now.

Started off his career as a mid carder until world t20 2007. But by the time of the England 2016 series, you even had guys like Savak backing him after the 100 and the push-ups were legendary.

Now he’s just out of his element in all these management type roles, part of the blame goes to these clueless MBA’s PCB hired who started watching cricket in 2013 and think Misbah is the chosen one so gave him all these roles to fulfill.

how?

Was not Shahid's Afridi leading the team to SF in 2011 WC was a small feat??? Again we could be in Finals or who knows might have won if Misbah was little sensible in Semi Final

More than Misbah; PCB itself became darn serious abut indiscipline;;; Any captain would have achieved similar (if not better results)

What really worked in Misbah's favor

We just kept on playing in UAE and sub continent;; that prolonged his captaincy for damn 6 years

Greatest Pakistani Test Captain ... He maintained ~50% win record with 27% win record in SENA over a long period of time while he himself maintained a batting average of 52+ as capyain (These numbers are almost on par with Kohli).

Wish him long and healthy life but more importantly I want him out of Pakistan cricket for the sake of Pakistan cricket.

Have a think about who took over the captaincy from Salman Butt when Pakistan cricket was in the gutter and without very few friends in international cricket.

Misbah was the best Pakistani batter of WC2011, he played a big part in getting us to the semi. In fact the semi was only a thriller because of Misbah's inning, otherwise we would've been all put for under 200.

If you want to give Afridi credit for leading the team then you also have to criticize him for his captaincy in the semi final. He could've taken responsibility and batted up the order or could've sent Razzaq as a pinch hitter when RRR was getting higher. We also had a batting powerplay we didn't make use of. Don't just blindly put all the blame on Misbah, look at the real culprits

Add shameless to that list.

Whatever helps you sleep bud, keep adding. He's not going anywhere. Misbah is widely respected in Pakistan cricket and even if he gives up headcoach, they'll approach him for another role.

It wasn't just Afridi and Misbah's fault, the semi final loss was a collective team failure. A wobbling Tendulkar was dropped 4 times. Emotions got the better of Gul. Hafeez tried to sweep a wide ball way outside the off. Younis killed the momentum by scoring 13 of 30 something deliveries. Umar Akmal got out thinking Harbhajan was a legspinner. Abdul Razzaq missed a 100kph delivery from Munaf.

Of course he won’t go anywhere on his own accord, the hefty pay cheques are a nice reward for doing heehaw.

He may still carry leverage within PCB circles but majority of fans want him out as they can see right through his deceit and mediocrity.

Sensible fans appreciate the work he's doing and can see through the hate agenda

Initially he did well as test captain but it’s been mostly mediocrity since with both the test and ODI teams.

We have and will remain a low ranked team under Misbah once he goes rebuilding will have to be done especially to the test team batting wise and the ODI team mindset and player wise.

Appreciating continuous mediocrity isn’t the way forward as well as the backing of slow timid batsmen mirroring Misbahs style as a batsman or the lack of vision and team building as to when to induct new players and phase out older ones.

Misbah was lucky to have a UAE batting king and another king of chukkers , they gave him lots of success and prolonged his career which proved disastrous for Pakistan in later years.

Misbah was a great captain. Pakistan have become an awful team post Misbah and Younis retirement.

They may love to hype Babar Azam but fact is under the Mis-You pair, Pakistan never had to suffer humiliations like getting whitewashed Vs Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

What work? LOL

There’s no hate agenda, we’ve all given due credits for his past achievements.

No doubt he achieved a lot for Pakistan cricket. Its now time he earns some rest. Should resign after the world twenty20.

They lost to Zimbabwe under Misbah though in a Test Match ! I believe and had a terrible record in LOI’s

That loss can be labelled as a 'fluke' instance because

1. They remained unbeaten in UAE over a series against any team they played against and that includes whitewashing England and Australia in UAE also.

2. Aside of the wins in UAE, they drew vs England in England over a course of 4- match test series and beat Sri Lanka and New Zealand in their own backyards too.

3. They didn't lost that series vs Zimbabwe so they actually managed to avoid the humiliation. Moreover, Misbah remained undefeated vs the Zimbabweans in that test, proving that he and Khan were the ones carrying the team for years.

In contrast, post the Mis-You retirement, Pakistan have lost home series to New Zealand and Sri Lanka and are yet to play vs England and Australia in those conditions, not to forget the losses in England and South Africa too.

Their newly founded girly love for Babar Azam seems to be overrated as he is basically nothing more than just a slightly better version of Manish Pandey ( who like Babar is also good vs pace and bounce but struggles vs spin) and playing in a weak team.

Losing a Test to Zimbabwe is unacceptable, they didn’t draw a series with a team which had the Flower brothers and Heath Streak did they. Misbah was lucky to have Saeed Ajmal who did the bulk of the damage in home conditions, any team with Younis and Saeed shouldn’t be considered weak.

Speaking of Babar, not sure how he has come in to the discussion considering how new he is to captaincy but for the credit he gets he also receives as much hate from insecure pencils. However, he is a good player and if he is considered rubbish then Pakistan really do have very little going for them and are considerably weaker then they were under Misbah.

I have some contacts in US cricket, will try to lure Misbah to come to USA and coach one of the team I hate. That would be one way to save Pakistani cricket from him.

There are aspects of what Misbah did and achieved which are undervalued and not appreciated.

After the Salman Butt tenure ended in controversy, Misbah was exactly the skipper that Pakistan needed to stabilise things and to restore some faith in the nation's cricketers.
