Misbah Misbah Misbah :misbah4.

I was happy when i knew that he will be playing in QEA, i thought that he would be helpful for the young players and would share his knowledge of international cricket instead he is proving to be detrimental for the development of these youngsters. I am saying after looking at the scorecard of SSCG vs SNGPL.

Hussain Talat who is appreciated by all and is thought of as good up-coming prospect is being played at no 8(i.e. at 6 down).

Completely disappointed.

When he gave chances to Shadab and Hussain in PSL2 i thought that he believes in youngsters but no he doesn't. Dean Jones and Wasim Akram would have been the reason for giving chances to youngster where as Misbah would have been cheering for Rifatullah and Saeed Ajmal.

I respect Misbah for carrying the the team through the tough period (2009-2017) but he needs to change his attitude towards youngster.

At least Sarfraz is better in this regard.

Please check the scorecard attached with the post.

When will people realize he's not a visionary and is 43 years old? Let him retire in peace. There's a reason cricketers retire at 35.

Man, you guys can never see it in positive light, maybe Misbah was trying to shield him from the new ball and waiting for the bowlers to get tired so he wouldn't have to face a roaring pace attack?! It is not uncommon for captains to do that!

Just be happy Misbah even let a youngster play... if it were upto him a 30+ year old would have played

Do you want to see the pitch? :usman

Take the wicket out and removing the white lines, it would be same as the rest of ground.

Just be grateful Talat has finally been given a game! :misbah4

Hafeez was captain for the earlier rounds and he also refused to play him (probably because he sees him as direct competition).

Misbah will continue playing as long as he wants to. Whoever is moaning can do so as loudly as they wish to.

:salute

104-7.

Have you seen the pitch?
A 0 is still a 0. If he had spent 1/2 an hour and scored 10-15 runs then we could say that the wicket was bad but the guy showed his character. One can blame the curator but a zero can’t be justified for any proper batsman in any condition.

Yeah, that's definitely the case. Their behinds are still in pain. :ghalib

Or they just want a promising player to garner important advice and better selection under the most successful Test captain from Pakistan? There doesn't have to be a Misbah hater or lover. Everybody has their faults but you have to learn from them otherwise you are devaluing their legacy.

That's obviously fine I don't care but was just referring to the hardcore haters of his who have never let an opportunity go for bashing him.

Woah! Calm down Abdul Bhai. Misbah was just what the doctor ordered for our TEST team from 2010-2017. But he had no business captaining in ODI's. His decision to appoint Azhar along with Waqar's blessings wasted 2 years of our ODI team.

Who is this guy Jamal? 7 wickets out of which 4 are LBWs and one bowled. Wow!

It shows the appalling quality of the teams when someone that bad takes 7 wickets in a season never mind in an innings. A couple of years ago I saw him in a club match and was amazed how bad this guy was for a 1st class cricketer.

Not surprised, Misbah wants to get back at the youngsters who kept him out of the team for so long. Only interested in playing his childhood and college friends from the 60s.

and only SNGPL can make a future Test captain in the whole of Pakistan

Yes misbah is truly the reason for his duck . Has Hussain talat come up at higher no , he would have scored double hundred in 100 balls .He gave talat chance by including him playing eleven, what else u want . If talat had been given chance at higher no , some one other have moaned about the position of some other player.
Sarfraz despite being captain of the team does not come at 4 or 5th no,which is ideal position for him as he is an accumulator. And here OP is complaining about the position of a player in a domestic match . Come on guys give misbah a break .

I like how whichever lineup Misbah is a part of, he automatically gets blamed for everything wrong with it :))

Did anyone notice how Misbah isn't a no.6 batsman too, he is playing out of position to give Asad Shafiq to play in a no.5 role?? It used to be the vice versa between the two

Iftikhar Ahmed has been playing in this position for a while so I don't think Misbah can shakeup an already established order just because everyone thinks he can...

Shafiq at 5, Misbah at 6, Rizwan at 7 - how can Talat come in before?

Shafiq at 5, Misbah at 6, Rizwan at 7 - how can Talat come in before?

True.

Looks like after seeing the pitch (if you can call it that), SNGPL decided to play just three frontline pacers + part-timers in Iftikhar and Talat and stack their team with batsmen. The right strategy though looks like it hasn't made much of a difference.

What is the point of domestic cricket with such pitches, just give every 'pacer' 50 wickets at an average of 10-15 and be done with it.

Where was Talat supposed to bat? Ahead of Shafiq? Ahead of Rizwan, who has a first class average of 40+? Or did you make this thread just to have a whinge without first engaging your brain for two seconds?

Also, the two opening batsmen are 21 and 22 years old. He hates youngsters though...::J

104-7.

Have you seen the pitch?

17 wickets fell in that game today. They won the toss and bowled SSGC out for 129 earlier. The conditions for domestic games are a joke.

Also he has his favourites - like how is a 40 year old uncle in Iftikhar Ahmed batting ahead of Talat

Iftikhar was batting in the same position when Misbah was not there for the first two matches.... and in those game Talat was benched altogether as well...

Yep, Hafeez captained the first game and Rizwan captained the second game. No Talat to be seen...

It's not just in first class it's deeper than that, failed to nuture players for the intl side and left Pakistan test team now and previously ODI side after the 2015 WC a mess because of his mindset of experience over youth.

Also look at his treatment of Babar Azam for Islamabad United...

I was referring to the Iftikhar Ahmed incident specifically.

Agree with the 'failed to nurture players' part in general.

That is just one example. Misbah the saviour dropped Pakistan's best batsman, Babar Azam, after one or two matches in PSL 1. Also dropped Umar Amin after one game.

In international cricket he batted Umar Amin at number 7 when he is clearly is a top order batsman. Then he gave him one, yes ONE, chance as opener where he flourished but was dropped and never picked again.

In his debut series Misbah the savior batted Haris Sohail at , you guessed it, number 7. It's almost as if Misbah the savior thought that no youngster has aukat of batting in the top six.

This past season of the PSL when Sharjeel and Latif were banned he specifically asked for the induction of 41 year old Rafatullah Mohmand and played him over the likes of Hussian Talat who were already in the side. After Mohmand uncle failed two or three times did he play Talat.

There is nothing more Misbah hates than an under 30 player. Don't ask him about the mandatory "emerging player in the eleven" rule. He probably despises that rule with a passion.

All hail Misbah, the saviour of Pakistan cricket.

Babar Azam was the biggest failure of PSL season 1 for Islamabad United so Misbah rightly dropped him for Khalid Latif who played great for Islamabad United and helped them won the PSL 1 season. :misbah:

bolti band hogayi ab? :35:

Spot on! You elaborated and articulated this very well - there are countless examples of how he's messed up the development of younger players.

Yes 2 matches = biggest failure?

Same Babar Azam carried Karachi Kings to semi (or whatever it is called) while Misbah's IU had to fly home.

Bolti bund?

Boss knows who is right for which format :misbah:

Same Babar played a maiden over in PP in T20s :)))

Big Mac When will management stop treating Moeen Ali poorly, he's being held down and his career is stranded beyond his control :mv For a guy who has been batting in the lower order and often no.8 position for a long time he has been absolutely god awful :( not only that I just hate his attitude, always depicts a victim mentality and moans about various positions where he'd be scoring quintuple century's:uakmal:uak

You have saved a lot of time for many by writing this... very poor from MISBAH for the reasons u just said above... Adding to that he kicked Maqsood from 3 to no.7 for hafeez... Never let UA to bat above him... UA would have found difficult to debut if he didnt before MISBAH captaincy....ISLU is MISBAH's friends XI and he will captain the team again in PSL3 at 44 years..

Misbah is exemplifying “either you die a hero or live long enough to become a villain”. It’s very disappointing to see him do this.

the batsman and bowlers he left with when retiring from the ODIs nobody is in the team now except shehzad, Hafeez and Sarfraz... hafeez and shehzad are on the verge of being dropped soon, holding onto the team via connections..

Every year there was a new no.3 batsman when Misbah was the captain. if im not wrong
2011- shafiq
2012-Azhar ali
2013 & 2014 - hafeez, MYK, asad, maqsood etc
2015 - Haris sohail

2014 and 15 are the worst times as every match there will be a new batting order....MISBAH crawled his way to the CWC...

Imran Butt, Taimoor Sultan and Ali Waqas are all youngsters that came in the top order. Or was it your favorite youngster that Misbah wronged?

Why even is a guy who has retired and 43 years old playing first class cricket? Absolutely no need. He should mentor instead if he wants to pass on knowledge. Talat should be batting 6 instead of him.

Syed1 spot on absolutely spot on bro,,,,dont forget he brought maqsood to no 7 from no 3 for the sake of professor.

Will captain ISLU in PSL3.... not sure how long MISBAH, hafeez, afridi, malik, kamran will play cricket and block the place for youngsters..

shame, but sooner or later psl owners will realize that these old grandpas are of nouse, hafiz was utter failure last year and so was msibah, kami click just in two matches.

Yeah it's Misbah's fault the guy scored a duck...

The desperation of Misbah haters is getting hilarious. This thread gave me a good laugh. Thank you. Hopefully you open another Misbah thread when his team bats in the 2nd innings :)

how many misbah scored???he is a passenger in this team like he was in psl last year.

Precisely. But one poster thinks it is unforgivable Talat scored a duck, no matter what the conditions.

Only groomed Azhar in test cricket rest of the batsman were pretty much failed selections the test team and ODI team were left in a mess not all his fault but not a great visionary.

Why hasnt he retired? Hes 43 for god sake What purpose does it serve him carrying on

He loves playing cricket and wants to play for as long as he's able to and there's nothing wrong with that. As the saying goes, "You're a long time retired"

To be fair, Pakistan dont have Hales, roy, root, morgan, bairstow and butler to fit in the top 6 and then play a moin ali at 7. :) Pakistan should grab ANY young batsman with good potential and develop him properly.

Maybe they didn't want to upset an established top 4? Did you check any of the other games where this guy played before blaming it solely on Misbah?

Where have I blamed misbah alone? Its a collective failure of team management which includes the captain as well. Failure to identify talent and give them appropriate roles. When a batsman like Talat is made to bat at 8, something is wrong. I am sure being an intelligent poster, you would at least agree with it leaving the blame games aside.

I don't think one match at a no.8 position at the end of the cricketing season will harm the progress of the player. We are seeing the last matches of Qet take place if I'm not wrong.

The kid can use some experience in a different situation. Midfielders can be played as defenders too in football when the need arises.

He wasnt even picked before this match if i remember correctly. So the point of getting experience is not valid at all. What use is of experience at number 8 to a batsman who has traditionally opened? The problem starts from there. Not picking a player and when picked, you play him at more or less a tail ender's position and saying that this would be a vaulable experience to him. Doesnt make any sense. Football is a different game. In cricket you dont play frontline batsmen at 8. Full stop.

If you recall talat has always been a top order bat. They should have At least played him at number 6 where he had a chance to face the second new ball.

Misbah probably is the most polarizing figure in the history of Pakistan cricket :))) :)))

70 posts in on a 43 year old retiree !!!! :14: :14: - You guys are unbelievable :D
