Leadership is an acquired art, not something that comes naturally to all people. A good chairman needs to be comfortable with the extra responsibilities that the position brings, including public speaking, talking to the media, running meetings and encouraging other board members to work as a team.

This highly responsible seat requires setting personal opinions aside. And,
The chairman should be so that he must maintain a good working relationship with staff, media representatives and Players.

AS we have seen that all these and other great qualities are in Cool and Calm Misbah ul Haq. Who is very hard working man and only focuses on his goal. Always take responsibility and do his job irrespective of what others think about him or his style. And eventually do his job with great results, thus forcing haters to praise him.

So, in my honest opinion he should be made next Chairman PCB.

Chairman PCB is a political appointment in Pak, someone actually good at cricket and its administration is NOT made the chief of PCB.

Not sure if you're from the country or not, but it's not going to happen.

Pretty much this.If he gets in the good books of the ruling party thats the only way he'll be made Chairman

I agree. He at his worst will still be better than the clowns running the pcb now. But as said before, it will just never happen because of corruption

This decision is not new and adds nothing to the system.

Misbah was

1. The coach & chief selector at the same time with unlimited powers.
2. The mentor of domestic team
3. Part of the system for the longest as director cricket (when he fired Mickey and then became the coach himself)

Pakistan needs competent international coaches or Pakistani ex-players who have worked within the ECB system in our age group cricket. Players like Yasir Arafat, Azhar Mehmood, Hafeez, Misbah, & even Saqlain etc. need to work with the younger lot instead of the international team. We need their skills at this level so they are able to polish raw cricketers and develop domestic talent into proper product. Dravid coached U-19 but it seems that Pak players just want to be involved in international cricket and big titles.

He will take this position and then we will have another power struggle with the coach and when their vision will clash, we will again see the coach being fired and Misbah taking over.

The perpetual clown circle of our cricket.

Worst decision! This will take palistan cricket backwards not forward! Also his Pirchi Son will get selected for International!

Why are you so mad at Pakistan cricket. Pakistan cricket is already trying to recover from the damage Misbah had caused, you really want to kill Pakistan cricket forever ?

A tuk tuk chairman is the last thing we want

The current ultra-defensive mindset in white ball cricket (batting) is very much his legacy

The ECB has some people in charge that didn't really play much international cricket.

Rob Key - Managing Director. You listen to this guy speak about cricket and how it should be played and his passion is infectious.

Luke Wright - Didn't have a glittering international player but was quite devastating when on form. He is in charge of selection.

Mo Bobat - No idea his background in the game. But he's sometimes ( semi jokingly) been referred to as the Pep Guardiola of cricket. He's now in charge of the RCB franchsises and their international members. I think he took over in 2024, helped change their team strategy and they won a year a later. He spent 12 years in player ID roles in the ECB and is credited for discovering a lot of talent.

David Court - Not sure if he ever played but he is charge of player ID and had a similar role in football. Works with national coaches.

You compare what they have achieved, how they have grown the sport in England, captured fans attention, played bold cricket and then compare with Misbah, Aqib, Mohammed Yousuf and the same tired names that keep coming up over and over again and it really makes you despair.

We need a clean break from this ex-player Mafia

Misbah already had management roles and the poor results were there for all to see.

Rinse and repeat.

Well, the guy has 5-6 assignments a year. Doesn’t play any other formats and has some county commitments

Probably has the time to do this job but then he has to issue and approve NOCs…how can he do this fairly considering he has players who need to play under him?

This is really weird.

A director and active cricketer?

I suppose Wahab was sports minister and cricketer.

Mohsin Naqvi seems on a quest to prove that dual jobs are perfectly acceptable in cricket

Even if Shan retires, he can’t be dealing with players who he has shared the dressing room with. It’s just weird.

So he will just approve every NOC of Babar and Rizwan type guys because he’s afraid to get on the wrong side of their fans

Shan Masood's father has links to PCB. He was a former member board of PCB

the benefits of being an educated cricketer.
- under his team management, Pakistan toured Australia with very young Naseem and Musa. Ponting actually accurately said it was the worst Pak bowling attack which toured Australia

- made Mohd Irfan bowl while he a had a hip injury

- Misbah and Waqar ended Junaid Khan's career - JK in my opinion was one the best bowler of his generation.

- Inzimam destroyed Pak cricket's running between the wicket (it used to be our forte) and Misbah destroyed our strike rotation. The team's batting had to work around his style of batting

- gave interviews in the TV shows of PCB Chairman Najam Sethi (another product of nepotism), attacking his critics and defending Sethi - No critic participated in the show - Collusion?

- had been a part of Pak team management mostly, since the retirement. Oversaw the further decline of PAk team.

People have to realize that he is "Corporate Cricketer"

He has been part of the cricketing management circle because he is "yes sir" man

I have comments for his innings in the 2011 WC final but would save them for a later day. Nevertheless, I'll say this...his fortune, both as a player and a managing role in the PCB, improved exponentially after that innings.

I'm OK to give him a job of a school teacher but no cricket related job , he has failed everytime he is given a cricketeting assignment.
Seeing mohsin Naqvi's decision, i will say that Misbah is not that bad....
