With these 2 players to come down the order, everyone would have hope that any target was chasable.

People used to abuse and cuss Afridi a lot but i wonder what do they now have to say given the lack of six hitting ability in our domestic cricket now

Lol yeah right.

When we did have them we couldn't wait to get rid of Afridi.

He supposedly made our batting weaker with his usual 0(1).

The complaints we have now for Umar Akmal is what we usually had for Afridi but 10x worse.

Kamran akmal afridi and razzaq made Pakistan lower order look very strong and they also proved it..

Faheem razzaq and shadab afridi can give the innings a blast for sure

I miss Razzaq, quality all rounder and not as popular as Afridi but was my favorite player on the team that time period. Anyone remember that game Razzaq one the odi single handedly against south Africa in I think 2011?

Razzaq frightened the South African bowlers on that Halloween night.

Because they were incredibly consistent batters and we were chasing 320 for fun?

Let’s be real, even though this current gen of players might make us miss the previous set of players before them at TIMES, we were not some superpower in ODIs even then. After 2006 or so we slumped further in ODIs and 2007 WC was the epic climax.

Only Razzaq.

Afridi has shown to be a failure once T20 came along as a batsman. Many other better hitters than him.

Apart from a once in a blue moon innings they never led the team to dominance in any way the balance overall has been wrong in the last 10 years too many accumulators up top and a few hitters in the lower order who should rescue slow starts and collapses which won't happen 90% of the time.

Even with Afridi down the order, there was always hope that if anyone could do it, it was him.

not single-handedly, afridi also had a solid contribution...

during Razzaq time, ie 2004-2011 Afridi was better than Razzaq in every department...

2 times out of 10 this tactic worked.

This was very flawed. The tactic in 2010-till 2011 world cup was to score 200 by 40, and get 100 off the last 10. During those days there used to be a powerplay aswell. Our lower order was made up of umar, afridi and razzaq. We even at gul aswell

And out of 10 matches, this tactic worked only once or twice.

It was flawed. It barely worked.

Razzaq couldnt give a good performance after that abu dhabi knock. That single knock of his cost us many matches.

After the SA series he was to be dropped, the guy held on to the team due to that performance.

That match was epic, thanks for giving the exact date. That performance turned a casual cricket fan into a cricket deewana.

Razzaq had the funniest wicket celebration as a bowler, everytime he got a wicket it looked like he was trying to convince everyone that money was falling from the sky :razzaq

Afridi was a walking wicket most of the time. Razzaq was nothing special after his 3-4 peak years.

Razzaq is a big blow. He could clear the boundaries with ease against pace. Also was capable of rebuilding the innings at times as well.

Imad can do everything Razzaq could do.

I think bowlers would not think twice if they had to choose between one of the two to bowl to. Razzaq's hitting power was something else.

Pass me some of the stuff you two are smoking.

Imad average of 50 and SR of 105
Razzaq average of 30 and SR of 81

The kind of matches Razzaq has won for Pakistan with bat and Ball, Imad can only dream off. Razzaq also played according to the situation, could defend and consolidate if needed and could go beserk at the end.
