Former Pakistan cricket team spinner Danish Kaneria supported Irfan Pathan after he revealed details about a heated exchange with Shahid Afridi:

See Shahid Afridi could have been the bigger man here and finally ended the fued to say he apologises that Irfan thought it was a remark against his family but he comes on TV and says that. Pashtuns regardless of stereotypes are still known to have big hearts, the guy could have shown some class and finally buried the fued with an apology. No Pashtun accepts an insult to family and Afridi should know this better than anyone. I am sure Irfan would have accepted it because he is probably looking for an apology.

Irfan Pathan Father migrated from Swat, if he does not speak Pashto fair enough but it does not diminish his claim of heritage.

Really small hearted person. For them, if an Indian muslim is happy and loves the country, he or she is doing to appease hindus. Only gaddars and people who play victim card are real muslims. Same thing was said when muslim lady army officer was doing Operation Sindoor briefing.

Irfan Pathan Father migrated from Swat, if he does not speak Pashto fair enough but it does not diminish his claim of heritage.

I don't think his father migrated from SWAT. He is part of a so called Pathan community that has lived in India for a long time.

Regardless Afridi didn't insult his father. He called Irfan a Naqli Pathan not his father. We don't know Afridis opinion of Irfans mother and father so shouldn't put words in his mouth.
