Anybody watched it yet? General consensus is it's even better than Ghost Protocol which is saying something, not that easily topped. Say what you want about Cruise (his personal life, Scientology and other antics) but his dedication and the will to challenge himself to cross all boundaries even at this age is quite unparalleled.

Can't wait.

Watching it in an hour. If it’s better than ghost protocol I will be blown away

What's wrong with scientology?

What's wrong with scientology?

Are you a follower? Don't sue me.

Jokes aside, I personally don't have anything against it as it has as many outlandish claims as the other religions/beliefs etc. But to me personally it's their followers that are annoying, kind of like BD fans (another joke).

My point was that Scientology did hurt his rating quite a bit as it seems to be the in thing to do in Hollywood of late.

Nope, not a follower. It's just a belief like so many other beliefs. Have no problem with any.

Awesome movie, superb entertainment. Action, thrill, comedy, it had everything.

Must watch.

All MI films after MI2 seem very similar to me.. this didn’t feel much different either but it was a good movie nonetheless. The plot was a little convoluted but the action sequences more than made up for it..

Just saw it.

Second time ever in theaters.

Decent explosive entertainment.

5/10

Saw the movie it was decent but action packed. Tom Cruise shines again with some mind blowing stunts. The last sequence was a bit too impossible though.

Surprised by some posts in this thread, we have people writing Eulogies for movies like Suicide Squad and Marvel Series such as WonderWoman but there are genuine complaints about the plot here ? maybe it wasn't complex but it didn't need to be and there was enough back story to make you emotionally invested in the characters. But here the action was the focus and that drove the narrative, overall it was fantastic and the best this genre has to offer in 2018 thus far.

In my opinion it was an academy award worthy performance from Tom Cruise, arguably his greatest in this series. Am not a fan of handing out genre specific awards, great great performances should be rewarded regardless. The stuff he pulled off in this movie was insane, even more when you look at how old he is ! showed no signs of slowing down and the series still has a bit of life. In this era many are led to believe that CGI effects = amazing action, you can't be more wrong; this movie was a great example of why we use to love action movies before they began to dumb then down for idiot fan groups.

It had it all, as a fight fan I commend the realism when it came to the martial arts, the high speed chases were very creative / breath taking, incredible high spots and spectacular sequences especially finishing stretch which had you on the edge. They don't make movies like these no more and there are not many Tom Cruises out there so relish this masterpiece while you can.

I've not really paid much attention to his personal life or views, are they really that controversial ? I know that his wife left him over the scientology apparently. But I've always seen him as an all round top guy and every time I have left a cinema having watched his movie, always say to myself; damn he earned every single pound !

Correction.

Wonder woman is not by Marvel.

Corrected that post, but honestly; I don't see a huge disparity between the movies which DC and Marvel have been making. Marvel may have better execution but DC have tried to make movies similar to their universe. Then I find the criticisms a bit OTT when the same people have bigger bhangra's over Marvel Movies then on their own wedding day :yk2 both produce rubbish as far as this genre is concerned. Movies like MI are atleast 15 levels above them

DCs first 2 movies in 00's Batman Begins & Dark Knight are real gems but they are synonymous with Nolan though.

Yeah those were great but kept outside the new DC universe in this era, it shows you the potential they have with the source material though but have not done so well. Maybe the Joker origin story will be good and Batman solo, but don't have high hopes.

More than source materials movies depends mainly on Directors vision and non interference by Studio executives. With Nolan its pretty clear who is in command with lesser directors its studio executives who will make final decision.Suicide Squad was marketed/edited based on fear from executives regarding possible failure.

Joker,i guess there is 2 different movies planned. One with Leto and another with Joaquin Phonex. Pheonix Joker is small budget and completely independent of DC universe, there is even probability that Batman may not even appear there.

Check out Shazam trailer looks fun.

The source material is the reason why those characters exist to begin with and the quality of DC comics are of a high calibre, when they are not being done justice then their lack of influence is going to be a major talking point. Execution and vision are definitely important to, but great story writers build on ideas from many sources; when The Dark Knight was being developed, David S Goyer pointed out how the Long Halloween was very influential in his story and Nolan also used The Killing Joke to help with Ledgers dialogue. Even the directors cut of those movies didn't drastically improve the quality but at the same time the studio interference doesn't help either. But either way no excuse for these terrible movies produced by both universes, am sick of them to be honest. That small budget Joker origin story could be decent, at least we know they will give the characters and plot a huge amount of focus, Scorsese was interested in being involved at one point as well so the initial concept must be promising.

Watched it a couple days ago.

This is one of the best action movies ever made.

I've never been interested in the mission impossible movies till now but watching this one has made me realise what a gem of an actor Tom Cruise is. He is 56 at the moment and did the majority of the stunts by himself. He broke his foot whilst filming a rooftop chase scene and was told that he might not be able to run for 6 months, but he was able to run again in 6 weeks! He's been carryinfg the franchise on his shoulders for the past 22 years but there is no stopping him.

The action sequences are some of the best set-pieces in any movie. The only movie I can think of that rivals it in action is Mad Max:Fury Road. Mad Max was a continuous thrill ride for the entirety of the movie but lacked a big action sequence that would be the defining sequence of the film, whilst MI:Fallout's helicopter scene isn't going to leave the audience's mind any time soon. The story is engaging as well with several plot twists that you might or might not see coming. Henry Cavill is also an excelellent casting choice and looks very formidable in the action sequences.

I will repeat it again. The action in this movie is unbelieveable. From every punch to every car crash, everything feels genuinely authentic and will go a long way to further cement Tom Cruise's legacy.
