Mobile Software Updates

Salam and Greetings to all.

I have been currently using Apple for 7 years and had 2 models. To save money I want to switch to Android.

What has been holding me back is the issue of software updates as I read it is less supported on Android compared to Apple. I read on average

I am a low user of apps and was wondering which would stop working if software updates stopped for a model assuming this doesnt effect: phone call, internet browsing and watching stored videos

App updates are still supported for maximum previous os versions possible because not everyone have latest android version phone & app developer's target maximum userbase.
so all the apps you mentioned will still work fine.
