Modelling in Ramadan

A guy friend of mine :babar was wondering whether guys are allowed to model while fasting or in Islam in general. This friend got an offer recently which will pay him. However there might be intimate pictures with women as well (all fully clothed). This friend was inclining more towards accepting it but was wondering what the ruling on this is.
 
You can have a photoshoot in Ramzaan. No one is going to judge you - at least not on PP, so you don't have to use the 'asking for a friend' excuse.

My friend doesn't care about being judged :azhar2. He only wants to know what the Islamic ruling is especially because of the women. He is earning from it so he has a valid reason to do it right?
 
I think it's fine.

I've heard of something called "makruh," it might be that, but it won't break your fast.

Maybe not, but he is still worried about it. Making money out of it doesn't make it any more or less valid. If you think photography is allowed in general (which you probably do), then I don't see any reason why modeling should be a problem for you.

Go ahead and make some money, make life easy for your parents.

Will do. Living and working in Britain for a couple of years is high on my long list of to-dos before I hit the big 5-0. As a family, we've seen so much British TV on Netflix, we've concluded that we really must experience Britain at some point, hopefully somewhere in the South, with rolling hills and charming architecture.

We've started going through at least one box of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives every day to help prepare ourselves.
 
Don't worry about what others have to say. Go for it and I don't think it's a huge issue in Ramadan.

Not a career :)) would be the dream though. Computer science student turned professional model
 
I guess it depends on what kind of modelling it is and what product he is modelling if any. Glamour modelling will certainly be disallowed.
 
I used to be a model. Back in Pakistan, they called me a namoona, which as we all know is Urdu for model.

Ramzan is meant to put a stop on your bad habits, not to merely pause them. Can't believe some people haven't realized its essence :facepalm:

I also read that you're doing your computer science degree, focus on that specifically! see this gig as a hobby rather then a full time career and give it your all as well and if it takes off then great!

To anmounce that a lean muscular 19 years old has been offered Modelling ? Yayyy

Or

Is it to get ethical cerificates (fatwas) of Liberal Muslims to say Yes it is Allowed in Islam and in Ramadan ?


If it's point 1 than Congratulations Shooper Istaar. There are many educated Models, Actors including Doctors, Engineers in Pakistan.


If it's point two than since you can find Khooni Mehdi narrations online so plz find few Ahadees about modelling too. Let me know if intimacy of any sort for pictures or otherwise is allowed in Islam with a girl/women without one having Nikah with her. Meray jesay aewayeen pyaasay bethay huay hein. And plz from Saha e Satta kindly. No Mutah Shuttah :)


And if point 1 wasn't the case than the best person to take into confidence are PARENTS.

About your first point. I tried my best to make it seem like it wasn't me so that is not the reason for this thread.

Secondly, about talking to my parents. They would not disapprove of it however I feel weird about telling anyone I personally know (family or friends) so I haven't told anyone yet.
 
modeling is a job and one should not think twice. If cricketers can play cricket, why can't models do modeling?
