Moeen Ali - Performance Watch

Man Dhoni might end up as the greatest spin captain of all time lol, knows exactly how to use every spinner.

It’s his man management skills to which are phenomenal. Safe to say he is the best skipper Mo has played under, it’s pretty damning he is willing to comeback under a new look team

Reports state that Moeen Ali is poised to turn down lucrative Yorkshire deal and rejoin Warwickshire.

First T20I, England v South Africa.

And our Moeen scores the fastest 50 ever by an England batter in T20Is!

16 balls. Magnificent

Another GOAT performance, more evidence of how badly his career has been handled.

He still frustrates me — blows hot & cold.

Looked like a GOAT last night but may well play like a village cricketer later today in the 2nd game.

Part of that is due to a lack of stability, just look at all the varying positions he has been used. When given confidence and some stability he has done very well more often then not. He did well in the last WC to, has done well due to his ability and grit, little credit is to be given to management. There are players like Bairstow, Roy, Butler et al in the team and it’s Mo with the fastest 50 in an England shirt during the twilight of his career, it’s more proof of what could have been, his career by any stretch has been pretty good on many levels but it should have been more then that.

Concur, just needs a steady place in the batting order and specific role with the ball.

He’s been promoted up to 4 today.

Batting well again so far. Looks in good touch.

Should always be used as a floater.
Can't play express pace and bounce, but will dominate everything else.

He was smashing proper fast bowlers for six today. None of those Indian trundlers but real, Pakistani fast bowlers.

A fantastic T20 player.

Great batting but his one over went over 21 runs which put the game firmly in Pakistan’s control.

Big match coming up and given Pakistan's bowling attack, Moeen may very well have to bat. I think he's going to be one of England's most important players in the final given his ability to keep calm under pressure. The Pakistani bowlers need to watch out.

I think Moeen has cemented his status as a legend and all time great in English cricketing folklore.

His contribution to cricket has been unprecedented and despite some highs/lows, he has largely enjoyed a wonderful career in both Tests and T20’s, the latter format especially he has enjoyed a few golden years.

And now, a World T20 winners medal to add to his World Cup medal. Surely, the icing on the cake to go along with his MBE from her majesty.

Ice cool in the final and capitalised on the situation with Stokes really well in the final game to take the team home unselfishly.

There are players with bigger reputations who have failed to take their country home. The whole of England should celebrate this once in a generation cricketer from our shores.

The Beard that was feared!

Take a bow Mo, Thank You!!

Congratulations to Moeen for finally winning a World Cup where he wasn’t kicked out of the playing XI.

The 2019 World Cup medal needs to confiscated from him. He was on a one man mission to destroy England’s chances.

A shame he missed out then but he has exorcised those demons, inspiring the team he was elevating during the series he captained before making way for Butler unselfishly and all this young talent to world cup glory, the way he took it to Pakistan was quiet a sight to behold, it will be replayed for many years. The BBC have plugged that moment on their site, the moment where Mo and Stokes won the World Cup. Iconic.

In my opinion he because a clutch player and a man post his stint with CSK in IPL.

He and Sam Curran have applauded IPL on numerous occasions for the improvement it brought on them mentally and technically as well. :inti

Dhoni school of handling pressure lol Master of pulling out wins with a bunch of misfits.

On Sunday, the England cricket team lifted the ICC T20 World Cup title, defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. On Thursday, they will be playing the first match of the 3-ODI series against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. The length of the break between two assignments has left many players and support staff infuriated. As Moeen Ali, England's veteran all-rounder, expressed his frustration at the cramped schedule, Australia's former captain Michael Clarke has slammed him and other English players for 'whinging'.

Moeen described the scheduling of the series as 'horrible', suggesting it is quite difficult to maintain the same intensity for every game. Clarke, responding to Moeen's complaint, said that he wouldn't be saying the same if there was an Indian Premier League plane to catch right after the T20 World Cup.

"If it was playing in the T20 World Cup and then the next day get on a plane to depart for the IPL, I don't think you'd hear anybody whinge," Clarke was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

"Players can't complain about the international schedule when they're taking the opportunity to play domestic cricket as well for franchises for money when you can have those six or eight weeks off. Then you'd be as fresh as a daisy. I've obviously found that very hard."

The England team only gets three days of time between the T20 World Cup and the ODI series. But, Moeen made it clear that giving 100% in the ODI series isn't always possible.

"Having a game in three days' time, it's horrible. "But it's better than two days' time. If it had rained on Sunday, it would have been two days [if the reserve day came into play]. As players, we're kind of getting used to it now. But to give 100 percent all the time is difficult when you're playing every two, three days," Moeen had said.

He's an English White Ball Great. 2 time World Cup Champion and a classy guy off the field too.

The Beard to be feared.

Many thought he could never make it as this level .

Those people have egg on their faces now as the lad from Birmingham is a 2x world champion.

Moeen Ali becomes the eighth Englishman to captain England in both international limited overs formats.

England all-rounder Moeen Ali reckons that it is always easy to suggest a team to play fearless cricket but a player needs to get out of his comfort zone to emulate such a style of play, adding that Suryakumar Yadav is a classic example of how T20 cricket needs to be played and India need to back such players and give them more opportunities in order to get a favourable result.

Moeen, who is currently playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 league and has been chosen as the captain of

Morrisville Samp Army spoke exclusively to CricketCountry on the sidelines of their practice session held at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

“It’s easy to say be fearless and be brave, and all this, but you need the players to go and do what they are not used to doing. I’ll give you an example. Surya Kumar Yadav comes in and scores fast. He plays his own game as if he doesn’t care about it for a second, but he does care. This is the kind of player you need in your team,” he said.

“India has a lot of these kinds of players. I’ve played the IPL and so I know the country has many such players, but you have to stick with these players. Don’t give him two or three games, some times give them 6-7 games. As long as you know that they are match winners and can win matches on their own, you keep them in the team,” he further added.

Under Moeen’s leadership, Morrisville Samp Army have struck form in the Abu Dhabi T10 league and so far remains the only team to be unbeaten, winning three out of three games leading into the second week of the tournament.
