IS he that dumb? is the coaching staff around him that dumb to point out that he is a pitch it up bowler his style of bowling will never work with back of length bowling its a style more suited for tall blokes like Hazelwood and Morke and not short skiddly blokes like Amirl yet since his return 95% of his bowling has been back of length and the only times he has done well is when he has bowled fuller.

One can understand he is not the same bowler but is he giving himself enough chance to be the same bowler givin the lengths he bowls now a days? Is it really that difficult to bowl full does it require more fitness or different technique which perhaps is missing from his game. Someone needs to enlighten me.

He either doesn't have belief in his ability or in his partner's ability to keep the runs down. Will be interesting to see if someone can confirm if he bowls different when bowling with Junaid.

He bowled only 2 or 3 deliveries full. And got a wicket on one of them.

Today was understandable, Short Boundaries up front so you had to pitch the ball on a back of a length area, NZ bowlers did the same thing with the wicket of Fakhar, Faheem and Sarfaraz

He bowled well today. His length was perfectly in accordance with the pitch and dimensions of the ground.

I am not talking about today in particular its his general bowling since return. The big difference in current Amir and Pre ban Amir is not run up, delivery stride pace or any other thing its his length currently Amir refuses to pitch it up even with the new ball. He is a bowler in the mould of Anderson and Steyn not Hazelwood and Morkel his style of bowling works when he pitches it up yet he continuously does not do it. I just don;t understand is it a technical fault which does not allow him to bowl full or just a dumb mindset.

Today was understandable but he got Munro's wicket off a fuller ball. Plus, regardless of the conditions, he's been consistently bowling short of the length since the last 2 years as the OP mentioned (almost every delivery of his is pitched on the same line and length). I've actually been wondering myself just WHY doesn't anyone tell Amir to pitch it up. Is it the game plan to let him bowl defensively? If so, you're effectively taking the new ball out of the equation by telling your main strike bowler to bowl defensive lines.

I also don't buy this 'he's concerned about the bowler at the other end leaking runs.' Really? He needs to do his job without worrying about others. Our bowling has generally been pretty good even up front. It boggles my mind as to why he persists with bowling the garbage he's been bowling. The only time he's actually looked even half the bowler that he was, was when he has pitched the ball up on rare occasions (and got rewarded for it against India, NZ today).

I dont know why he's trying to be Nitini with wide angled length thing. For today it was fine as the game required such length but other times it feels annoying.
