He's not wrong. PCB having been running bowlers into the ground for a long time now anytime there's a decent bowler. They ran Amir into the ground until he had no pace left. They ran Hasan Ali into the ground and now he keeps getting injured. And now the same is happening with Shaheen. At least they had enough sense to rest him for pointless T20 matches vs Zimbabwe though.
All the top teams are consistently providing their bowlers and even batsmen with rest instead of playing them in every single match possible against every single team. It's also how you keep the developmental factory churning as you are also providing other with games and opportunity to show what they can do.
I don't think players should even need to ask for rest, there should be a proper plan in place to make sure you players are well rested and if they are well rested, then they will be fresh and better when you do actually play them for the big games.
