I want to know why I have only seen on 3 occasions since his come back why he has not been steaming in more.
1 when England were about to lose the Lords test
2 Asia cup v india
3 after getting Matthews out

He was absolutely flying into the crease on these occasions.
Y have we not seen it more.

What do you mean by steaming in?

Those were specific moments where, the moment he got one break through he was just on a rampage. I hadn't gotten that excited in a while watching cricket when he finally got Mathews' wicket. At that point you just saw this jazba in him and he was on fire.

Momentum.

Happens with all bowlers.

It's that classic fast bowler's mindset where they're taught to pounce after getting a wicket. A quick burst can lead to 2-3 wickets as new batsman look to get their eye in.

Yes I get that but he has got wickets in other games but he has not had this jet pack effect

He is a confidence player as are most players. He even hit 145kph after that Matthews wicket. His confidence was shattered by many things in the last few years. This is why they say players "now have their tails up".

Any sport we play, when confidence is up, we find an extra gear...

sometimes when u doing most things right.. like bowling in right areas , swiniging the ball and stuff and still not getting wickets your confidence do go down. thats what happened with Amir.. see him tonight steaming in right from the start.

Yes. Unless they are defending 150... I do think they need to bowl first..

Just as a wicket will give you momentum like an injection of adrenaline a dropped catch is like a bullet to the gut

Amir is still bowling way behind the line, I noticed it last game as well.

Once he starts getting closer to the line, his pace will increase.

I'm not sure what's the deal. He needs to get over his phobia. He's missing out on a yard by constantly worrying about that line.

I feel he's nervous because of the backlash he will recieve if he bowls a no ball.

It's a part of the game and he needs to move on

While I agree, I feel he's always been like that.

Even before the spot-fixing.

Teenage Amir was developed into a disciplined bowler taught to remain well behind the line, which obviously made his no-ball a downright shocking event in 2010.

As a bowler you should use every advantage you can have, especially in the modern LOI game.

He needs to get closer to the stumps and the line and pitch the ball up a fraction more and he will start being in the wicket column.

Genuine fast bowling has a lot to do with instincts, and the Pakistani ones are taught from a very young age to absolutely pounce on their preys if they find a opening / weakness. It's the alpha mentality that enables them to switch on the minute they see a thread of opportunity and then the adreline kicks in making them extract that additional zip in ther bowling.

Similarly, Amir who's basically an out an out Pakistan pace bowling product has those same characteristics and when things start even slightly to go in his favor he will absolutely become another beast altogether....

I still feel he isn't at his 100% yet, he needs to explode more on release.....

yes thats the issue pre ban Amir would explode at the crease which allowed him to bowl a heavy ball now Amir can't hurry up the batsman even if his hand release sppeds still lookm the same.

Need our bowlers and especially Amir to taste some blood early on for them to click and get ferocious. When that happens watch out inshaAllah

needs to up his fitness to replicate his final spell more often. The moment his average speed hits 140+ he looks a different beast this is the pace he gets his most optimum output.

he's a big game bowler, if he bowled like that every game he'd burn out immediately
