This has to be one of the best innings i have ever seen. Credit to asad shafiq aswell, but keeping in mind that amir is a bowler and played off the new ball makes you admire his batting.

His innings wasnt a slog fest. His innings had proper cricketing shots. Drives and cut over the fielders heads.

What impressed me more was his fitness. He played shots but the slow outfield didnt allow them to go for boundaries, instead he ran 2 and 3s, something which umar akmal cant even do.

He also showed us his fitness. Scoring 10 runs by running between the wickets isnt an easy job, and he did a great job.

His innings surely did annoy Starc the most, who did not let him off without his verbal assaults. He had to face his pacy ball against which he managed well

Amir might have reminded many of us his 80 run innings against new zealand where pakistan took a dead game into a winnable position due to him and saeed ajmal.

I enjoyed this innings like i enjoyed zulqarnains 88 which i still remember. Lets hope amir turns himself into a proper allrounder.

Pakistan played an australian innings, if we are going to lose then we will make you fight for it

I was hoping he got his 50, but sadly he couldnt

Brilliant innings. Definitely an all rounder and this puts to bed those people who want him dropped

Remember only on Day 1 people were ready to write him off for the next 6 months after his knee injury.

Shown a lot of guts and resilience in this Test.

Absolute gem of an innings. I love it when tail enders scored runs.

Fantastic knock... really put the Aussies on the back foot..

It was only possible after re-integration.

Well done boy.

Have been saying it for a while that when Sohail is in the team Amir should be number 9 while when he isn't there Amir should be number 8.

Still after playing a very good knock in an Odi vs England Amir was wasted at number 10 with Wahab & Yasir coming ahead of him needlessly. Both are inferior batsman.

Hope this test will spurr him on.

Let's not get carried away. It was a fighting knock in a losing cause on a pitch that has eased out considerably against a tiring attack. There were some lovely shots but also lots of plays and misses. He ain't no all rounder.

One swallow doesn't a summer make. Yes if he'd made a decent 80 or 100 you could say something.

Amir also played an important hand in the Oval Test win. That partnership with Younis Khan v England helped give us a decisive lead.

There's no reason why he can't be a perfectly competent lower order bat if he puts his mind to it.

Im surprised how Australia haven't taken the wicket of Wahab now.
He doesn't know how to bat, look at Wahab's front foot, its already planted infront well before the ball reaches him.

I don't get why every management rates his batting. He is a perfect number 10.

Hope he fires today :)

Yasir should have come at number 9.

Scoring 400 will give the team much needed lift.

Wonderful innings. Played the ball late and showed better technique than a lot of top order batsmen.

Good innings but plenty of mis-hits and edges. Also, don't know how Starc didn't bowl him with the third delivery that he faced.

Luck was with him today and he played with freedom because the match was over. Still, well done.

Amir always had the talent to become a bowling all rounder. i hope he becomes more consistent and we can have a proper player on our hands

Amir has potential to average around 20 with the bat and we can definitely do with that as a batting unit

He has enough about him to be a quality, 20s average number 8 batsman

He played pretty well in first innings too, confidence of that innings carried over to this. Remember in first innings, he blunted morning spell of 10 overs from Strace and HW as well.

As he gains confidence in bowling ( wickets, pace), his batting will get better.... In 2010, that was the other reason, his loss was regrettable not just because of bowling but he looked like handy batsman in the making. By the champions trophy time, he could be great for us. These runs in England and Australia goes long way in building your confidence.

But he should be permanent no 8, rather than shuffling every match, depending upon who scored in last innings. 🙄🙄🙄

Really proud of the guy, the way he took on Starc ATG... Beautiful!!

If Amir can avg. 25-30 w/the bat and about same with the bowl, he'll immediately become the best all-rounder going around in the game. Should take his batting seriously. Seems to have added to his stroke making repertoire while away from the game.

No he won't, not by a long stretch. Hard to see anyone prying that title from Ashwin any time soon.

Gutsy innings and shielded Shafiq from Starc as mentioned by chacha Cricket.

Great comeback by Aamir in this match. Still can't believe it that people wanted to drop him. He will only get better from here.

A great knock by him, I loved how he didn't give it away in the first innings either.

He should be batting higher than the other bowlers.

I have always have said...He is probably the best all rounder we have in the team

Haters are finding it increasingly hard to post against him. Amir has been a 'messiah' with both bat and ball.

#boywonder

He doesn't deserves the all rounder tag yet but he has guts for sure.

Wahab yas sohail amir always swap position, one 30 and you are promote but amir is a better batsmen, sohail play high risk strokes but can defend a little, wahab is more of a slogger/hitter and yasir has good wrist he is good at flicking, driving but not so good against short balls and he doesn't generally put his body behind.

Proud of Mohammad Amir. He's a FIGHTER. A cut above the rest. Haters will hate but the three Amir, Asif and Butt were our best players. Amir's inclusion has straightened both our bowling and batting.

I have always said to Amir that with more application and better concentration at the crease he can become a very good all-rounder.
