Unpredictable. mercurial. These are just some of the words that may come to mind when one describes the Pakistan cricket team. This unpredictability came into play throughout the tournament as the underdogs defeated number one ranked South Africa, Sri Lanka, favourites England and India against all odds.

This Sunday however, was no different. Pakistan once again showed the world that it was not to be rolled over by this dashing India side like it did on the 4th. The men in green completely shell shocked Indian fans and neutrals alike in a devastating fashion.

What really came to my attention, and to many others, such as Nasser Hussain, were the two deliveries Amir bowled in his second over of the match. The third ball of the over produced a peach of a delivery, a nippy delivery that deserved a wicket, but was put down.

Pakistani fans were already used to dropped catches at this point, having suffered through the buttery fingers of Kamran Akmal, having witnessing five catches going down all off Tendulkar in the 2011 Cricket World Cup semi final. As many fans held their hands over their head, to their surprise, Amir created a leading edge in the very next delivery to the relief of the culprit from the previous ball, Azhar Ali, and the stunned Pakistani fans.

Amir had gotten Kohli, the number one ODI batsman out twice.

This unpredictable nature of dropping a catch and then grabbing one perfectly symbolized Pakistan cricket. Shadab Khan, the 18 year old rookie holding on to the catch represents the new age of Pakistan cricket. Gone are the days of seniors leeching on to their spot. Gone are the days of dull 90s batting. Gone are the days of the meek surrenders. Now comes a new era, fresh, vitalized, here to take Pakistan to great heights it once experienced in the 80s.

Congratulations to team Pakistan and all of the fans for such a memorable tournament which I, and many, will keep close to our hearts forever. Thank you.

totally bamboozled indian top order in three overs with the flat pitch unbelievable stuff from amir

shows that if you are a class bowler, pitch doesnt matter

A book could written on those two balls. Unbelievable drama, rewatched it this morning and gave me chills - Nasser's commentary was superb.

The frenzied celebrations after the dismissal shows the amount of respect and importance of Kohli's wicket.

Rohit = inswing
Kohli = outswing

difference vs wasim in 92 was the angle and the pedigree of one of the batsmen

..apparently boomerang bumrah Is better LOL. Amir is slowly finding his groove again.. Played exceptionally well against a strong batting team, on a motorway. It was a demolition job.

As I said in another thread and to my Ind mates that If Kohli bats today 10 times we 'll get him out 10 times, the spirit we played with, it was really the Green Storm!!!

Can someone put the delivery - azar dropped the catch, I missed that delivery. Cannot find it on YouTube

I would rate sharma better then Ian botham

And Chris Lewis was like getting Azhar Mahmood out.

But Alan lambs wicket was needed and if they didn't get it then we had won the World Cup.
