Asghar, much like Raza in 2012, seems to have that something special that makes him stand out from the rest.

Imad and Nawaz simply do not have that factor in their bowling, and picking two clones was a poor decision; one of them should've made way for Asghar.

Raza was a whole different league altogether. I mean, who has an economy of 5.98 over 70 T20 wickets? However, it remains to be seen if that focus had anything to do with the coke he abused. Just like Ajmal was a different species, Raza had a class of his own. The way he bamboozled the Aussie batsmen was a treat to watch. Asghar is good, no doubt, but is a tad below Raza in my opinion at least in limited overs.

I did not expect Nawaz to have such a poor start to his international career after having success for Pakistan A aswell as PSL.

In Asia Cup he was the worst spinner amongst all the teams barring few from Srilanka.

On Bangladeshi wickets he could not turn a single delivery. (In PSL he did spin the ball)

Figures of 6 overs 64 runs 0 wickets and an economy of almost 11 was quite worst.


Team will prefer economical darter over him against India who was good against sane SL against whom Nawaz gave 0-38 runs in 3 overs with 4-25 in 4 overs with his darts and 1-13 in 2 overs vs Bangladesh.

If Imad goes for less than 32 in 4 overs with 1 wicket against India I will be happy.

Leaving Asghar and selecting Nawaz & Imad both was terrible similarly selecting Anwar Ali pseudo allrounder over Aamer Yamin number 6,7 batsman on the bench was a mistake.

Had my team got Khalid Latif & Aamer Yamin on the bench and our number 6 got injured or got severely out of form than I would have picked Aamer Yamin, while if our number 4 or 5 got injured or got a severe bad patch than I would have picked khalid latif from the bench.

Now Khalid, Nawaz & Anwar will get benched for the rest of the tournament. Rightly so. Hope we don't need them.

Yamin is a proper batsmen bro. Ask people who have seen him play and they will tell you. His bowling is useful on seaming tracks.

It's too soon for Saud, just over 1 innings in a test match. He has batted well but the stand out players for me have been Hasan Ali (because of his batting also, if he was as useless as Wahab then I wouldn't have mentioned him) and Babar Azam [going by tests and just this ODI]. However in this match Ashgar has proved it before and he's doing it again that he has a very good eye for wickets and hands down I'd choose this fresh 17 year old over Nawaz. Nawaz has had a couple chances but not really excelled, and it seems like Ashgar is better than both Nawaz and Imad. But asking a 17 year old to play in the ODI side already may be a tad pre-mature. I do think we should wait one more tour before selecting guys like Abbas, Ashgar, Saud, Hasan Ali just to see how much they've progressed. However if the aforementioned names get selected, I wouldn't mind.
