Yeah, but Hafeez is too predictable, always trying to dart it in to middle and leg stump. E.g., how Australia played him out for a few balls first up then when they knew this is the only delivery he knows how to bowl (full on middle and leg), they killed him. He got Warner's wicket with a surprisingly different delivery (since Warner was expecting the same full on leg stump crap).

Hafeez, a failure at international level, shown with bat n ball in domestic level and thus got selected, i guess Jadeja did well in IPL too, but to expect such bits n pieces cricketers to do wonders at Int level is utter foolishness.

So far, both have done very very bad in the current tournament, but I'd say Hafeez is better cause he can actually bowl okay (and that too, occasionally), as he showed vs SAF and NZ.

i think you forgot the MAIN point... Hafeez opens the batting while Jadeja comes way down the order... Take the not outs out of equation for Jadeja and his average will dip way below...

Keeping aside the “c” word for his bowling I would pick Hafeez in LOI’s over Jadeja anyday (as of today). Keep in mind Hafeez is on his last legs and Jadeja has a few more years to go and from the last 12-15 months he has improved his batting too.

Overall though Jadeja statswise might end up as one of the greatest spinners ever to play the game and potentially even allrounders in test cricket and that’s what cements your legacy where as Hafeez was very mediocre in tests.
