Mohammad Rizwan is the best finisher and most clutch player in Pakistan

I wonder if Rizwan's promotion to no.4 is an indicator that Shoaib Malik wants to help Rizwan's case in the side and ultimately replace the liability that Sarfraz is?

I wouldn't blame if this was the case since the specialist captain has embarrassed Pakistan cricket with his racism, awful batting and captaincy. His demotion to 8 in the batting order shows how worthless he is in the side.
 
I want to see him play longer innings than one ball to judge if he has improved from where he was at the last time he wore national colors.

Glad to see him again as he is a brilliant wicket-keeper, which makes for quite a sight as a viewer.

completely agree, kind of like a subtle jab lol
 
Seeing no improvement from when he last played for Pakistan.

Still has poor balance, struggles to rotate strike, and weak against spin.
 
Maybe a little nervous to begin with. One bad shot and he's out of the team so it;s understandable in a way!

He knows very well if he fails today Karachi press will eat him up...His selection was already criticized as it brought pressure on Sarfraz. He fails today and he is out again.
 
One of the worst innings from a Pakistani batsmen.

Hitting balls straight to fielders, mistiming shots, losing balance, not picking Tahir.

Sarfraz has his issues but I'll take him over this club level batsman any day.

Problem here is he can’t get singles plays spin poorly
Builds so much pressure on himself then slogs one and out
Himself to blame if he had kept on ticking singles would have been fine
 
just looks mediocre, nothing about his batting suggests that's he should be playing for Pakistan
 
One of the most mediocre players Pakistan has ever produced. He would not be able to get a place in gully cricket.

This guy is a dud. sarfaraz can feel safe for next two years. People called Rizwan an accumulator... cant even pick singles i dont know how these players scores heavily in domestic..
 
Very unfortunate situation. What could he have done?! He knew his place was at stake and Sarfraz would anyway come back into the side. Very very unfortunate and I hope posters empathize with him.
 
Take a potato and put it at the crease. It will tackle spinners better than Rizwan.
 
Umair Masood or Rohail Nazir need to be groomed as WK replacements in the A sides.
 
Guys what happened Rizwan was supposed to be our saviour from the evil Sarfaraz.
 
This is the player that continuously pushed Saud Shakeel down the order to put himself in contention for the national team

Nobody listened to me. Everyone gets fooled by substandard domestic/A team stats.

They mean nothing. Your ability and skill matters a lot.

Awful batting

It’s sad that he hasn’t shown any improvement. It’s even more sad that Sarfraz is our best option for WK batsman.

Need to groom someone else and leave Rizwan alone. Sarfraz has been extremely mediocre for last two years, we need to find a replacement for him.

Disheartening to say the least to be in such dire suitation. Until we don’t find a quality WK batsman and all rounder. We will remain a minnow team

Well said, I remember his disgusting politicking as captain of the A team.
 
makes me chuckle how fans flip.... said it when he pilled runs in domestic lol once a failure always a failure... Seen him played before and he is still the same... Too bad he was supposed to save the batting at 4:srt:sarf2
 
The problem with Rizwan has been is inability to rotate strike against spin bowling. Today he went both way where he couldn't rotate strike to the pacers either. I get Malik was also struggling but that period in which Tahir came in to the attack was the most damning part of the innings. I think we went from scoring 5+ an over to 3½ from 20-odd over to 35+ overs.

He hasn't improved one bit in that subject and I can't see him doing it either. He's very poor against spin and it showed again today.

But they are not as useless as Rizwan. You can be selfish but not useless. And certainly not both.
 
Rizwan is definitely not a finisher, really struggled to hit out even in his first stint as a Pakistan player. Always looked more of an accumulator to me, quite a tidy one at that. Maybe should be batting up the order if he's going to play.
 
Was playing bit selfishly today as the player [Captain MAlik] on the other end was also selfishly passing the baton to him to take risk. Both ended up screwing Pakistan's target.

Rizwan looked worse today.
 
i blame Malik since he was there from before and he should have been the one leading instead of telling Rizwan to take the risk...Everyone has weaknesses and i wouldn't discard him just yet.
 
The sad thing here is that other options such as Rohail Nazir and Umair Masood are 10-12 levels below Rizwan in terms of capability. We have a serious scarcity of WK batsmen, off spinners and pace all rounders.
 
Still the same technique as his last international outing. Rubbish. Its tragic that we dont give younger keepers a chance and keep on recycling rubbish.
 
wow, all it takes is one innings where you're thrown at the deep end for the first time for these arm chair experts to black list a players..

Rizwan is the best keeper in the country, play him in the top 5 continuously for a few series and you will see.

He looks the same as last time. Still struggles against any half decent spinner. He is a TTF.
 
Tough ask for him to smash it all around the park in his first innings of the series.

He just couldn't get going today.

I woudn't write him off after just this innings.
 
Wasn't watching but hearing he played an awful innings. It's one thing getting out for a low score on a comeback but if you look like you haven't improved at all on your time away from the national team it's not a good sign. Let's see what he does in the T20 series
 
Only had to knock it around and look for singles and doubles. He came in in the 25th over, posters are making it seem like Rizwan came out to bat in the 45th over chasing 10 rpo. Our run rate was respectable 5.12 when Fakhar got out (Rizwan came in) and Mr. Saviour scored a champion knock of 10(30) falling all over the place.



If you fail to see how bad the innings was then you are obviously biased with an agenda.
 
Not going to judge him after one innings, that will be stupid! Let him play 10-12 matches on trot and then we can speak, but that will not happen so feel a bit pity for him.

Not saying he is better than xyz, just give every player a good go like many others in the team.

He came in with plenty of overs to bat and couldnt even rotate strike. Was one of reasons we lost today, along with maliks ruderless inns.
 
Never had faith in his batting. I have posted it before, PCB have invested in the wrong guy for the next wk batsman.

Very very poor innings. But I want to see him for a few more innings before writing him off.
 
Didn't see him bat today but heard it wasn't good. One game though. Your average PPer doesn't seem to have patience as a strong virtue.

You are biased with an agneda. I am not a supporter of Rizwan but you cant judge a player after one or a few matches.

Exactly!!!! As much as bad Sarfraz is but even out of form Sarfraz is far superior than inform Rizwan. Malik needs to go as well.
We need to include 3 batsmen Haris, Umar Akmal (For slogging overs) and Saud Shakeel.
Bowlingwise Amir needs to go as well.
 
That was some catch reminiscent to Rashid Lateef days. He sure is an upgrade on Sarfaraz when it comes to keeping no doubt.
 
His keeping has been good. But while batting he is very late on the ball. Very quick hands, still comes on to the ball very late.
 
A very good wicketkeeper. Like shan, we can only judge if his batting has improved when he plays a test match.
 
Better keeper than Sarfraz but cannot bat.

Overall, Sarf is still better i would say.
 
Apparently the best ‘clutch player in Pakistan’ is now hitting the brakes...

Not a great showing from the most clutch player going around. Overall, a useless contribution to this series.
 
Is this guy really the best reserve wicket keeper batsman option in Pakistan or has he been ‘planted’ into the squad to keep someone’s place safe ?
 
Watching him bat is more painful than watching Fawad trying to hit a boundry or a kid bite their elbow
 
He is definitely a good finisher...... finisher of Pakistan's chances.
