Mohammad Rizwan under new coaching staff post Misbah-ul-Haq

He was backed a lot by this current management who gave him the longest rope ever in the history of International cricket to find his position in international cricket. He is still a Dud in ODI cricket.

How will he fare under a new management that isn’t influenced by Misbah’s poor tactics?
 
Funnily enough we have seen Rizwan under the management of a quality coach- Andy Flower. He backed him as an opener for the entire season and guess what Multan won.

Don’t think any coach has the same low level IQ as some armchair experts here so they will continue with him. However their is a risk that some Karachi based coach with the same hatred as the posters above will come and remove him to bring Sarfraz back.

Goodness me, what is wrong with you people? After hearing news like today's, you're hoping the new management somehow gets rid of Rizwan?? Do you guys think that'll be good for the team? In what universe, though?

I can't even begin to understand this thread and some of the posters here. Like there's no angle that I can see here other than perhaps a personal grudge against Rizwan. Then again, I'm assuming none of these guys personally know Rizwan, so please someone help me understand where these guys are coming from.

A new coach will probably make him captain. He is our best player across formats.
 
He's a class player and has a calm head.

Perfect all format mainstay and vice captaincy candidate.
 
I want him to take over as captain. This guy is actually captaincy material. Babar is no leader of men.

When the stakes are high and in big games, I would say Rizwan is our best hope from a batting perspective. Babar is our overall best batsman but he is a serial bottler and a timid individual who fails to impose his presence in the game.

He ain't going anywhere he is here to stay for long time.

He should be made captain.He is the best player in the team.
 
I don't agree with OP's opinion but I have a lot of respect for him as he makes a lot of good contributions to the forum.

The major problem we have is the Karachi mafia and media who have been plotting Rizwan's ousting from the side.

He was playing as a specialist captain. He was averaging around 20. But according to his fans he was dropped unfairly. Some of the knocks which Rizwan has played, Sarfraz will struggle to play that against Kenya.

So all the soft runs against B/c string attacks have paved the way for the Autopilot to become the captain of the side?

Rizwan and Babar are the only reliable batters in the team. And you want to drop one of them?

id rather have a autopilot than someone whos got no idea flying the plane. i guess the failure of the likes of sharjeel and the rest of the batsmen against b/c dud teams should be magnified even more than in this case.

You do realise that you've just exposed yourself for someone with zero cricketing knowledge, a deep bias and pretty much a small man.

Pakistan revolves around Babar, Rizwan, SSA and recently Hasan Ali joined the train.

And this thread is created against Rizwan lol..

Scoring against B/C attacks as one of the reasons.

He has shown consistent performance across formats , especially in tests , heard from many commentators that he has become one of the best Wicketkeeper batsman in the world

The personal bias shown here shows how biased are Pakistan fans towards their players.

Pull out the stats here and show why he should fail

Take all the Pakistani batsmen who have represented Pakistan in T20'a over the last two to three years.
Don't worry about the opposition because if player A scores against a poor team then player B should also do likewise, unless player B is so poor that he fails against all opposition, whether good or bad.
So with this in mind what does Rizwan average in T20's? If I'm not mistaken it is at-least somewhere in the 40's. Am I right?

Now what do the others average? Also, can they keep wickets like Rizwan does?

You find the stats and tell me if I'm wrong and then explain why you started a thread about Rizwan's performances under a new management and not some other player?

There's no point stating facts and logic with this guy, he has a serious agenda against Rizwan, it has to be personal otherwise i cant understand the reason for the hate.

Going back to the topic [MENTION=2016]Rana[/MENTION] if we have a more tactically astute coach then i can only apologize to you now because rizwan will get better and better, he has a brain unlike sharjeel and the rest of the dummies you keep advocating.

Rizwan is a rare talent, hopefully not much tweaking will be done with his play.

I like sharjeel’s brand of cricket and I really liked him before he got banned.

But now whenever Sharjeel and Rizwan have played together the latter has outperformed him significantly overall. It’s not even worthy of a comparison.

Say you don’t rate Rizwan’s batting, who would you prefer to take over the gloves?

Rana's hate for Rizwan still baffles me.

Rizwan may have scored a lot of runs against 'B/C teams', but where were the other batsman? Also, he was one of the few who actually stood up to the full-strength NZ Test bowling lineup in NZ.

He averages 48 in Tests and 80 in T20s in the last 12 months. Sure, he averages 17 in ODIs in the same time period, but he is a class player and will come good (has also only played a handful of ODIs in the past year).

He is the least of our concerns right now, the batting pretty much relies on Babar and Rizwan. Not sure about the point of this thread?

Rizwan is probably Pakistan's most valuable player right now. Possibly even more than Babar
 
Rizwan is a classy player. RR is not so dumb to not recognize that. If anything, he will perform better. Actually he will. Mark my words.
 
Rizwan's rise had nothing to do with Misbah. He will get even better under a professional management.

Checkout his performances at domestic and A team level before making his return. He was not getting much chances because Sarfraz was there till WC 19. Even then he scored a hundred vs Australia under Mickey !
 
Misbah gave far too much backing to Rizwan.

A little bit excessive and not above what I would have liked.

Yes, sure Misbah turned him into a top cricketer/batsman, but it's just a small purple patch.

His LOI batting credentials and ability is very questionable.

He backed him too much because he wanted Sarfaraz to be dropped from the squad. It was all dirty politics. I have nothing personal against Rizwan, but he is a symbol of the dirty politics that was being played by Misbah and Waqar, with yes man Babar riding along!

Sarfraz doesn't deserve to be selected even for his domestic team.
 
If foreign coaches are to be brought in(which is expected given Ramiz's preference of foreign coaches), can only expect him to become even more integral part of the team. Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen and Hasan is the core of our team in all formats.

If a local management takes over, then it will depend a lot on what's in the mind of the head coach cause Pakistani coaches don't come with a plan/vision/prep.
 
honestly, after having been a pakistan cricket fan for at least 30 years (since memory serves), our biggest problem are our fans. ridiculous, hair-trigger, knee-jerk reactions. agendas, ethnic biases, parochialism and intellectual dishonesty dominates our analyses rather than any legitimate hypotheses.

Rizwan has performed ridiculously well at a world class level for the last 12 to 18 months and you have people here denigrating his performances. unbelievable. man is a world class wicketkeeper bat and in my humble opinion has a lot more cricketing nous than babar (who is undoubtedly a way way superior bat)

And they even displaced Fakhar from opening slot just to accommodate Rizwan (because he cant score down the order).. His batting looks pretty pathetic, shots he plays always looks like he will get out at some point...and so far has not been tested against any quality opposition barring SA / England C/D teams

So far now; its all HYPE

It’s hilarious that the same posters who hate Misbah and Waqar for their favouritism snd “random biases” are the same posters who are doing the exact same thing- supporting our non performing ex captain and an overweight match fixer (both from the same region) over a top class performer who has done nothing to deserve to be dropped.

tests - avg 48 in 8 games including three fifties in NZ
Odis - avg 18 in nine games
t20s - 23 games avg 80 SR 139 (close to 140)

so he has underperformed in ODIs, which is a fair criticism but you do not think the t20 numbers are world class? he can only play what is put in front of him.

I don’t really have an objection to Rizwan in Tests. In fact I feel him and Fawad are our best partnership and have played some great knocks for us.

I have always been critical only of his white ball cricket. Paul Stirling has also been playing at world class level if that’s the case
 
Why are you so obsessed with Riswan and that too one of your few world class players

if your criticism was limited to ODIs i would absolutely understand, but the numbers he is putting up in t20s are definitely top shelf. how do you move him from the position hes producing so much at ?
