“I categorically state that I won’t be interviewed by my juniors; both cricketers in the committee started their careers towards the end of mine. Let him be interviewed by Imran Khan, Zaheer Abbas and Qayam Ali Shah. May be that will massage his ego.
Some one should ask him if he is willing to coach a team with players lower than his standards. May be he only wants to coach AB, Amla, Kohli and Root types.

Bro think about it logically. Our players lacking 2 things: Flair and ability
Ability he can't do much about, so I'll let it pass.
But he can 100% for sure bring out their flair. Remember, he used to act in bollywood, so he is a pretty confident guy and knows how to evoke the right emotions out of the audience. He'll motivate the players the same way.
I'm telling you, the sun is about to rise, think there's going to be a turn in the tide coming very soon.
A brand new dawn.
Listen to him PCB, this man will take us to the top of the rankings.
He's a Sir Alex Ferguson - desi-ized. I have had faith in him since England 2012.
Make Pakistan great again.
Thank God he refused, please don't come back.
How is this guy still trying to take credit for Pak's success during England tour?? It was his first tour, where he was brought in as an interim manager. Was not involved in any of the preparation, planning for that series!! He just sat there like a cheerleader and thinks?! Absurd.they won because of him
the test series he brags about , Pak were very lucky to win, it was 3-0 but we could have lost 2-1, our batting was horrendous, it is just that ajmal could bowl with free flex at peak of his powers, and abdurehman ws also unplayable for england. We got bowled out for less than 100 plus about 200 once. we should have lost both those matches, specially when england were chasing 140 to win!
Also after we lost odi 4-0 in a thrashing by very poor england with ajmal, he turned on team and blamed players saying he is coach and its the players fault, yet he is happy to take credit for test win. Wake up guys
he is a hack!!
KARACHI:
Reiterating his age old stance, former coach and chief selector Mohsin Khan lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for ‘ignoring deserving local candidates’ for the post of head coach.
Addressing a hastily arranged press conference at his Karachi residence, the former Test opener who coached Pakistan in eight Tests — winning six, drawing two — in a hugely successful but brief stint during the 2011-12 season claimed that the coach hunt committee that comprises of legendary cricketers Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja is ‘too junior’ to interview Mohsin for the slot left vacant after Waqar Younis’ resignation last week.
“I categorically state that I won’t be interviewed by my juniors; both cricketers in the committee started their careers towards the end of mine. If I apply I will address my application to the chairman only,” he said.
Mohsin has been a severe critic of PCB policies ever since he was unceremoniously dumped as head coach after a long and draining series against England in the UAE four years ago.
While under him, Misbahul Haq’s team whitewashed the then world number one in the longest format, before Mohsin’s charges were handed out a sound beating in both ODI and T20I formats — 4-0, 2-1. Mohsin believes that there was a conspiracy that led to his ouster.
“We did fantastically well against England in the Tests, after that a conspiracy was initiated to remove me. You can see how the move destroyed Pakistan cricket since my replacement Dav Whatmore and Waqar both did nothing for our cricket; in fact we have been left in a state of absolute shambles,” he lamented.
Mohsin minced no words in his criticism of foreign coaches since he feels that the so-called ‘high profile’ or certified coaches are only interested in filling their coffers.
Meanwhile, the 61 year-old confirmed that he has turned down the offer of heading the selection committee that was made to him by senior PCB officials recently since he feels that selectors play a restricted role after teams are handed over to captain and coach.

Mohsin khan's coaching record pisses over waqars. If waqar can bag appointed as coach of Pakistan twice, so can mohsin Khan and this time for a longer tenure.

Well that puts to rest whether he should be coach or not lol. From being just temporary coach to now suddenly is the most important, best record coach in all the land who actually has the right to be appointed by the chairman himself rather than Wasim and Ramiz to whom all the other coaches have to report to if they wish to apply.
Respect...
Mohsin >>>> Ramiz
Ramiz 57 tests ..only 2 hundred one each vs sl and india (as per MoYo, Ramiz ko sharam nehi aati)
Mohsin 48 tests 7 hundreds
Wasim Akram he is tainted...while MHK is incompetent (as coach), he is still 100% patriot.
Good thing we aren't making him the coach. If we did we would have had to buy two plane tickets whenever he traveled, one for him and one for his ego.

Make Pakistan great again.
SAF got the best out an average Man Utd team, especially during the end of his tenure. To say that Mohsin will replicate a smidgen of that is dishonouring SAF himself.
Not only does a well-oiled team need to have a good coach, but in cricket it's imperative that the captain must step up too, as well as the selectors whom must choose the best possible players out there. Cricket may not seem it, but it is a more centralised sport. The guy had a stint in 2012 where the players were already at their zenith, so not much coaching was needed in essence. In ODIs however, the players seemed to lack desire and faith - something which the coach must lift. He isn't just a "coach" but a motivator, confidence booster and someone who'll provide positive criticism. Mohsin guy seems to be the opposite, and a team driven by fear can only go so far.
I don't think we've progressed much in the last 5 years in terms of modernising our cricket, so if anything I'd much rather have a foreign coach to "Make Pakistan great again".
I am sure why Mohsin Khan is trying this route - he has absolutely no chance of convincing Wasim & Rameez on his coaching credentials based on 3-0 against ENG, which he had very little contribution as Coach. In UAE, PAK beat ENG & AUS 4-0 without Ajmal & Rehman, therefore one doesn't need to be Was or Rameez's level to call the bluff. Test cricket is the most fundamental format (I am not saying it's less tactical), while ODI game has evolved several generations since Mohsin went to Bollywood.
There are at least 20 Coaches in Pakistan who can lead this PAK side to World No. 1 Test side, is they constantly play 12 Tests every year in UAE (& no where else). In fact, without any Coach, Misbah is good enough to win all 9 head to head rubbers at UAE. Mohsin has very little to say beyond that 3-0, therefore we haven't ever heard anything from him on tactical aspects - what else he is going to bring in this side that'll pull them to top half of LO ranking. Mohsin's expertise as Coach was exposed in 4-0 drubbing by one of England's worst ever ODI squad - that too in UAE, where Poms are that that strong to be honest. If Mohsin has to go through a proper selection process, both Was & Ram 'll ask him difficult questions & he'll have to answer those in record. No one, not even Mohsin after his evening bo*ze, is that fool to think that, he can get a National Coach's role without proper interview process - this is just an attempt of distraction.
As a player, there is absolutely no comparison between Mohsin & Rameez (& then Mohsin & Wasim as well) - Rambo 'll need born 3 times to match Mohsin's double at Lord's & couple of 150s against Lillee, Lawson & Rackman in Australia. But that's different discussion - Rameez with his media expertise, exposure to global cricket events & his educational back-ground is more than qualified for the hiring process (in fact probably even more than Wasim). Coach hunting is not about facing Denis Lillee with new ball & this guy once was a CEO of PCB.
Let me correct you. Both Ramiz and Wasim were on the PCB's Coach selection panel in 2014 which chose Waqar. Aamir Sohail was appointed to that panel too and he testifies that the Coach Selection panel was absolutely clueless, it had no plan, it did not ask the right questions with regards to what are you going to do for Pakistan Cricket in the short run, long run, did not go through videos of batsmen with technical problems or videos of bowlers, "How are you going to fix this?" so clueless was the coach selection panel that inspite of Pakistan's major problem being their batting, they decided to go with a fast bowler as their head coach.

He was a good coach but he was even better as a chief selector.
This. Pisses over over rated waqars coaching record. Waqar was not only an absolute failure of a captain who led one of our strongest world cup teams to a humiliating first round exit in the 2003 WC but also an absolute failure of a head coach three times. Mohsin Khan deserves to be given a chance to do something for Pakistan cricket. Let waqar fool the entire world with his British accent and Australian residency.TESTs
2-0 against SL. 3-0 against Eng. 1-0 against Bang.
ODIS
4-1 against SL, 3-0 against Bang, 1-0 against Afghanistan, 0-4 against ENG.
Barring the ENG series, he actually did quite well. No wonder he raves on about himself all the time.

Feel sorry for him, really hard done by this time
Deserved to coach Pak, has a lot of passion for the team like Waqar. Better than that softie Mick Arthur.

http://nation.com.pk/sports/09-May-2016/mohsin-disappointed-with-pcb-s-coach-hiring-policy
ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan Cricket Board chief selector and head coach Mohsin Hassan Khan has shown his disappointment over the procedure of hiring new head coach for Pakistan team.
“I don’t know what was cooking in PCB chairman and others’ mind and why they ignored my offer of taking responsibility of coaching green caps once again, I had challenged them to hand over same group of players, who are on a very low and not performing, I would completely transform them and turn them into winning unit.
I had made them very clear that my services are available for the national cricket team, he told The Nation on Sunday.
About declining the post of chief selector he said that he declined the offer as it was his past experience that whatever team he had picked the team management failed to get results but when he took the helm of the coaching, the same players did exceptionally well and gave the results.
Mohsin said that whatever the status and respect he was enjoying was because of his beloved country Pakistan and I had always tried to pay back by giving more than 100 percent.
The former Test opener said he had made it to the PCB very clear that he was ready to accept head coach or mentor role, as his record speaks itself as during his stint with the national team, Pakistan remained unbeaten in eight Tests.
He said it really hurts to watch Pakistan falling to new lows.
“Believe me I had never given importance to money as I always wanted to serve Pakistan cricket in the best possible manner.
Former PCB chairman Ijaz Butt was full of praise of my abilities and even Zaka Ashraf asked me why I am not demanding raise in my meagre salary, I told him very clearly that money does matter but I am not bothered about demanding raise in my salary, rather I wanted to help Pakistan team to scale down new heights.
”
He said he wanted to help Pakistan in highly important England tour but unfortunately people sitting at the helm of affairs don’t want my services.
“I had no complaints, as I was not asking head coach job for personal gains, rather for national interest.
If they feel foreign coach could get the best out of Pakistani players, my best wishes and prayers like past are always with the team.
”
He also thanked to past cricketing greats including living legend little master Hanif Muhammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad and other greats, who always supported him and trusted in his abilities.
What about ODIs? His team got a beating of life in ODIs. Kia kahenge yeh uspar? Unse performance niklwa kiun nahi sake?

Finally the PCB made a good decision by excluding this idiot, but it wont be long before he does earn the easy money and become the coach. In PK, these guys are like a bad smell, they never go away.
His memory is only limited to Test series.
Mohsin Khan is right, why on earth should he agree to be interviewed by his juniors. He did the right thing by going directly to Shehryar Khan.

My friend, you are going to really struggle in the west.
I am 46 and I am the boss of the doctors in my hospital. Many of them are 10, 15 years older than me. But I'm the boss.
Mohsin Khan was a deeply mediocre international cricketer like Rameez Raja, vastly inferior to Wasim Akram.
I don't care if he was born earlier. Wasim Akram is his better because of their cricketing careers, and Rameez Raja is his better too because he is a former PCB Chief Executive Officer.
Mohsin Khan needs to stop hiding behind his age and recognise that people like Wasim Akram and Rameez Raja are his superiors. They have earned more respect than he has.
In fact, he kept knocking Waqar Younis' tenure, but Waqar is his superior too. Mohsin beat England in tests and lost in ODIs just like Waqar, but he didn't beat Australia like Waqar did. And he isn't an ATG legend cricketer like Waqar either.
