So it's on!

First game of PSL tonight between the 2020 and 2021 champions.

Yes as per reports Amir has a side strain while Imad and Jordan Thompson will complete their quarantine by Saturday.

According to reports, Mohammad Amir has suffered a side strain issue, however, he will be available for next game.

Kings will also be missing the services of their former captain Imad Wasim and Jordan Thompson - tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
 
Mohammad Amir has confirmed that he is injured.

who is emerging player from multan they look much more solid than Karachi

This Karachi kings XI resume everything that isn't fine with PSL. All four batting spots from 3 to 6 are taken by foreigners so we can't develop our batsmen in these position.
And it's not like the foreigners are any great, apart from Joe Clarke, none of the others should be playing between 3 and 6.
 
Why Karachi did not select Sahibzada Farhan in the playing 11 despite him being the highest scorer in last NT20? They just keep continuing their incompetent selections. Worst franchise for fringe players. First Umer Khan, then Rizwan and now Farhan.

He's a Pakistani 19yo bowler who plays for KP 2nd XI.
 
For Karachi: Babar, Sharjeel, Clarke, Farhan, Nabi, Lammonby, Gregory, Imran, Taha, Umaid, Ilyas.

This would have been a much better team as Farhan is a much better batter than Yamin and Yamin's bowling is awful as we have seen countless times.
 
Boy, how unprofessional is Sharjeel. Look at his Gutt. Looks like he is about to have a child
 
sharjeel only has 1 shot, backfoot swivel and pull/hack reason why he never made it in internationals , bowlers there are too smart for him.
 
I just follow the online commentary. Looks like Shahnawaz Dahani has started well. Good luck to him for a fabulous tournament.

ive seen rizwan criticized on here for striking a lot higher in international games then what sharjeel is going at right now, just swinging at everything, bowler had to give him a pie there to get going surprised he didnt try eat it :))
 
The wicket is sticky - a very UAE type.

Sharjeel is fat, but he is still striking the ball with better timing than Babar.
 
Sharjeel really does hurt his team with the lack of singles.

Great hitter but misses out on a lot of singles.

Are you watching. Sharjeel is striking double of nearly what Babar is despite Babar trying all his best and luckily survived getting bowled out.

scroll up i said both are striking at odi pace and need to up the ante, difference is babar is still there but this brainless hack is gone
 
Shakeel gets over criticism here despite the fact that in this format, he can be an asset- especially on a flat typical t20 wicket.

Unfortunately, we Pak don't emphasize enough on a good diet plan.
 
The guy is an absolute leg side hack thank goodness he's not anywhere near the Pak side the sellout

Babar was their many times playing these kind of innings for Karachi even chasing and Karachi lost them games lol. If you happy with run a ball innings as batman make a run a ball selfish 50 then good for you. It's t20" not a odi or test game
 
There was a time when I would be excited to watch Pakistan cricket because of Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Razzaq and Imran Nazir up to some extent

Sharjeel Khan is the only one and maybe Umar Akmal are the only two cricketers in recent history that give me that same kind of excitement to watch Pakistan or PSL.

He gone as he playing his shots taing risks. It's t20 cricket can't just play selfish innings of run a ball 50s and loses games.
The best ever limited over batsmen opener striking half of what Sharjeel is what does that make Sharjeel then

Like i said if you read the post again both batsmen, meaning i was unhappy with both. Babar is probably the best batsmen in the world right now so he can have as much leeway as he wants, what has sharjeel done on the international stage to justify and cement his place as the best t20 opener for pak? lets talk stats not hypothesis

Same. They need to find way to fit him in limited overs it will only help the team. But this is Pakistan cricket they think opposite
 
Some People have hate ingrained unfortunately. Sharjeel can be a right horse for the t2 course, but alas, some have their brains blinded by hatred.
 
Sharjeel Khan out performing the golden boy, you love to see it.

This match will be enough to tell everyone that Sharjeel > Babar and Rizwan in T20’s.
 
Karachi would end up scoring close to 130 if not for sharjeel. A 150ish score is likely now which might be a winning score on such a un-Karachi like slow wicket

Timid character, so afraid of getting out. His innings was so poor in the semi final
 
people are acting like sharjeel blasted a quick fire 50 or 100, he made 40 odd of 30 odd balls at a strike rate of 138, which is just 4 runs more than rizwan strike rate. Yet one is labeled test match player and one is labeled t20 best opener ever for pak :))

bonus point for anyone who knows sharjeels international t20 strike rate vs rizwan or anyone who can name a meaningful game where sharjeel has made a contribution on the international stage:))

Where is your babar. 79 strike rate after facing 29 balls and getting out and your fine with it as he will get a run a ball 50 next game. Without Sharjeels innings Karachi would be going less then run a ball and struggle to post 120.

Some people have no sense of cricket. You can't compare average SR of a player to another while a game is being played on a surface where the same SR is not possible. Each surface presents its own challenges
 
Karachi kings have a truly terrible team in this psl. Wouldn't be surprised if they ended bottom this year. Just look at their bowling.

that i can agree with but you can the look at the biggest stage and compare an contrast performance and stats , if you still think one is better than the other even though numbers and performance show otherwise then you can only attribute that to delusion
 
T20 is all about quick 30-50 with best SR possible. If one can achieve more, great for the team. In my opinion, a target should be set every couple of overs.

Respectfully, I do not buy stats. I see how one bats. If you can adjust and time the ball, you have better understanding of a game. The stats are misleading

agreed, its all down to personal perception at the end of the day, i want to see proper cricket shots not 90s type cricket of brainless hacking regardless of the format but if thats what you enjoy then its your personal prefernece, just have to agree to disagree.
 
Nabi.. Joe Clarke.. Pakistani domestic players can play better than these guys... terrible to watch cricket on such a wicket with mediocre players all around...
 
Can’t be bothered to watch this game since Sharjeel got out

Might tune in when Khushdil comes in to bat

I will slightly disagree with you. If you watch even the best of the batsmen, they hack at times.
The game is all about set-ups. If a batsman is able to break the field set up by the opposition with controlled hacking, it is a job well done. The AU was able to win the T20 WC due to pure hacking against Afridi.

There is a difference between brainless hacking and controlled one. In t20, controlled hacking is needed at times.
