What's new

"My aim is to become a proper all-rounder" : Sohail Khan

He has been thoroughly exposed in NZ and AUS tours. Where are all his fans who were claiming he'll take 5fers ???

You know what?

Why not work on his batting and develop him into an A/R at no. 7?

We already know, he has the bowling skills with the new and old ball, but has fitness issues and that can be ameliorated by playing him as an A/R, so he bowls 5-6 overs with the new ball and some 10-15 overs in between the 25-70 mark.

He'll be bowling around 18-20 overs in a day and that shouldn't be so bad.

He is ideal for OD .

Just 10 overs to bowl , and can be used as a slogger at 9 - 11 or sometimes can be pushed up as pinch hitter.

Such a shame he wasn't given an opportunity earlier. Can be of use in 5 man attack for tests, in LO he deserves a run in the side.

That is pretty obvious.

I'm talking about using him in a 5 man attack, to help with his fitness and utilise his bowling skills.

To be fair, he didn't look good enough when was picked for the Sri Lankan series in 2009. Maybe he deserved more opportunities besides that.

Reminds me of Tanvir Ahmed in so many ways, big heart, confident, decent amount of skill with bat and ball but not fit enough and doesn't have age on his side.

I think it's time he is given a decent run in ODIs. Picking the washed up Gul over him in England was a terrible decision, especially given his performance in the Test series.

For the time being, he can fit in nicely in the ODI squad as an alternative (or upgrade) on Hasan.

Needs to be milked till he is completely dry. Ticks a lot of boxes at the moment.

Don't worry, Gul and Sami have a few more kicks at the can before they lace them up.

I don't mind aging players who produce. He is one of your best options and can actually bat a bit. He does need to keep fit, which is what Arthur keeps harping at.

I do agree regarding his 09, but to me personally you give a player a few series before you throw them into the wilderness. A plethora of players come in looking poor due to the jitters of a new frontier and just need to get some backing, but unfortunately we scare our players into perform right away or disappear into the abyss.
