My custom as arrived, pics and brief review

Hi,

After a long wait finally i received my custom AS today. First of all i would like to say that AS service is really very poor. Mr Waqas khalid promptly replies to mails until he receives the money. Once he receives money, very rarely he replies to emails.

They agreed to make bat exactly same as per my specs but i think they sent me a ready made V12 bat and all requested specs are missing. I am really disappointed as i already have two V12 bats with me, which i bought for 150$ each. My custom AS V12 has dented my pocket by 200$ and it is more or less same like my other V12 Bats.

Brief Review:

Willow quality: Good
Grains: 10 straight grains
Edges: 40 mm
sweetspot: Middle
Balance: Good
Ping: At the moment ok (After knocking should be better i feel)
Pick up: Not very light but ok
Weight: 2.10

Overall good bat but if you are not getting a bat as per your required specs then no point in ordering a custom bat.

Amongst all Pakistani brands, i would say that my experience with CA Sports is very satisfactory. Their service is excellent, they deliver quality stuff and as per your requirement.

In future i will never deal with AS Sports and would never recommend anyone to order any custom bat directly from their factory.

I wanted 43 to 45 mm edges, very thick toe i mean lot of weight at the bottom, 1/2 inch longer blade and a huge profile.

Yeah for this shape weight is too much, it says 2.10 but actually it is 2.11.

Handle quality not very good.

I also doubt because CA charging 350$ for a custom bat, definitely B3 must be charging good amount.

Qasim Bhai, i have not tried any custom from Malik but have used their Sher Amin and limited edition bats. Ltd edition was very good bat, definitely far better than AS. I haven't tried any MIDS bat so far, so no idea about their quality.

The bats are superb, I have tried one briefly in the nets and had a big sweet spot.

Located in Nottingham, there top of the range bat will set u back £320. The one I tried was around £180 I think, but it was tailored for the person's requirements.

Thanks for the info !! Last 2 months have purchased around 8 bats, so at present plenty of bats to play with, will definitely give these B3 bats a try after one or two months.

hahahaha, i've dealt with AS sports before and the lead post is correct. They respond fast until they receive your money. I bought some stuff from them a year ago, 3 bats (Falcon, King, T20) and matching soft gears. While the soft gears exceeded my expectations for the price (very good for pakistani softs), I was highly disappointed with the bats.

Let me tell you, these 3 bats were the 3 best lower range bats i've ever seen in my life. I was so happy when I received them. The edges were very thick and really good looking grains. Well, it was time to sell bats, I sold the 3. The T20 one have been badly dented in so many different places, I am so ashamed as a seller. The King bat broke in its first practice session and I had to replace the bat free (luckily I had an Ihsan Ace 303 bat to give them as equivalent replacement, and they said that Ihsan bat is strong). THe falcon I didn't receive any complain, that one was pressed well.

They just press the bats soft to get the massive edge and they're not lasting very long. Never me again with AS bats. As for the ping, believe me, those AS bats were the best bats i've bought from a factory for the prices they were sold at in regards to ping (and i've tried many brands). Too bad they can't last long, its no use hitting 3 smashing 4's and then the bat is gone.

Qasim, what is your email?? I can easily put you on to good dealers for quality custom made bat in $225 - $325 price range with good pressing and bat performance. Seems my pm function is saying I can only pm admins lol

i've used some ihsan bats, and have to disagree a bit. I've used Ace 202, Ace 303, Ace 505, Inferno 450 and Inferno 950. They are strong yes but I didn't have a problem with the sweet spot. The inferno 450 I used had a wicked rebound for the range, ball sounded so good out of the sweet spot.

The inferno 950, well, people kept asking me about that bat as they guy who it was lent to, kept smashing humungous sixes. Ihsan bats rebound is powerful on big hits, but what i'm disappointed with them is they are not as effective in stroke play like say CA, SS etc. And i think this is why they are not liked by users. Not everyone goes for big hits. i've seen someone with an Ihsan Lynx X1 and he swears its one of the best sticks he's had. Very strong and was gunning the ball.

I have Inferno 950, really disappointed with this one, was pressed very hard and i gave up opening this bat and my Lynx 1 was also pressed hard but i succeeded in opening this one and it is playing well for me. That's why i said Ihsan bats are pressed hard because i got two and both are pressed hard but these sticks are very strong.

I just like sharing my opinion on the various brands i've experimented with before to allow people to choose better.
