I received it today via a friend who was visiting Karachi. He bought it from UT Sports.

Any comments?

It says "Ready to Play," but I still assume that it needs to be oiled and knocked.

Looks like a very good stick, lovely bat for the price you paid. Do you mind sharing the price?

Its hard to tell whether it needs to be oiled seeing the pictures but if you think its dry then lightly lightly oil it and then knock after 72 hours.

By the way, what weight is it and how thick are edges ?

Paid Rs. 8000. UT had another version of Sher Amin, which was less expensive.

The thickest edge is around 4.2cm and weight about 2.23 lbs.

Based on your experience, what grade willow does it look like?

Ah okay sounds good! How does it feel and picks up? Heavy?

Hmm I'd say Grade 2 just because of that mark in picture on left side.

Ah okay this one is slightly expensive due to being laminated I presume.

Don't worry about grade as long it plays well it doesn't matter which grade it is really.

Much lighter than the one that I had been using to date.

I also think it was a bit more expensive. When I called UT a couple of months ago they said that it is around Rs. 7000. But then they may be talking about the other model that they had.

Yup, maybe that could be the case. When I last called UT (couple of months ago) I was quoted Rs. 6300 by UT for Sher Amin

First question is it 2 pounds and 23 /100 ounces (2 pounds 7.3 ounces) or 2 pounds 23 ounces (3 pounds 7 ounces)

Is the bat laminated? hard to tell with the pics but looks maybe from the side and the back seems to have much fewer grains.

Hope it plays well looks like a monster (42mm edges). Does the bat come with toe guard? Any pictures of the handles?

If its 2 Pounds 7.3 ounces it is unreal with 42 mm egdes! But hey its a laminated so anything is possible.

I would be interested in handle picture as well.

It is very clear that it is Laminated because different back and front side grains and clearly seen joint from side view .
but according to UT prices it is expensive .

^bhai is regular Sher Amin (Non-Laminated) cheaper than Laminated in Pakistan?

How much is Sher Amin currently in Sailkot?

OK - The weight 2.23lb = 2lb + 0.23lb, which means it is 2lb 3.6oz. I can double check at home tonight and report a difference, if there is any.

Yes, it does come with a toe guard.

I will send a picture of the handle tonight from home.

I have a question: Are the laminated bats better than non-laminated?

Purpose of laminated bat is that they ping better than regular bats, hence, they are illegal.

Attached are a few picture of the handle.

good work handle looks interesting, I can see the joins above the rubber but section below its not evident.

Interested to hear what people think about oiling regarding laminated bats. To me unless it was dry I would only use a small amount of oil on the face. leave for 24 hours and extratec the face.

(When I oil a bat I simply use a cotton cloth folded several times over the oil bottle and turn the bottle upside down for 1-2 secs then apply over half the face or half the back or entire side. Then let the bat sit for 24hrs with the oiled side facing up, then do the back)

I use to bat with my cousins sher amin a long while ago is there a misconception that the bat is for hard hitters specifically or can it be used for patient players aswel ie (rotating strike, singles/doubles, letting the pace of the ball come on to the bat), am looking for a bat at the moment so i can start to train indoor asap, my style of play is very aggressive at times, but also very very patient, ive thoroughly searched the threads on pak passion and have been looking on ebay for the past few hours not sure whether to buy a sher amin or another bat, the one thing which puts me of with the sher amin is i think the big shots come of really well but the non-aggresive shots do not or i don't know it could be my poor batting

Laminated bat - means the bat is made of two pieces of wood joint together with glue.
