She is 8 weeks in, scan coming up over the next few weeks.

We have a slight inkling that we will be having a lovely daughter. But a son would be amazing as well.

Feeling very blessed right now! (And would love some advice from any PPers who are more experienced in this area!)

Congrats.

I always assumed you and Robert are very old.

Being a dad is tiresome and takes away a lot of free time that you now have. But it also gives you great joy when you hug your child and take watch them reach their milestones.

Congratulations James and your wife. I am also expecting my first child and is 18weeks pregnant now. In sha Allah, will be able to see my little one on next January or February. He/she has already started kicking my belly.

What i did wrong in the beginning was researching of everything that could possibly go wrong during my pregnancy. Don’t ever do that, it will only stress you out. Keep it simple and eat healthy food.:)

Congrats to you too.

I did that mistake with my first kid. Read too much about what could could in wrong and stressed myself out badly.

Congratulations. First thing to do is figure out who is going to name the baby.

Mate that is excellent news!!
Congratulations to both of you!!!

My advice.

Pre natal.
Whatever she throws at you just take it. With all hormonal changes
She’s going to have some mood swings so be ready for it. Be her punch bag if you have to.
If she gets a craving for fried chicken at nigh night just go and get it!

Post Natal
For the first twelve months all the baby needs is her mum and all the mum needs is the support and help
from the father.

Initially, thr overwhelming feeling I got as a fatherhood was my own sense of mortality.
You suddenly feel vulnerable knowing that you have to look after yourself so that you can protect and provide for that little bundle of joy..

Good luck with everything and enjoy every stage of parenthood.

Thank you. I realised that being a doctor is not a good thing while being pregnant. Because i know the symptoms and the associated complications. It was really depressing for me as I always expect the worse. Tbh, that fear still lurks around but i have strong faith in God that he will keep my baby safe. And that faith is taking me forward.

Congratulations. Take care. Dont miss your 20 week scan.

Thank you. Yeah, anomaly scan is on second week of September.Have booked my dates already. The radiologist gave me the head to toe details of my baby in the 1st trimester scan. I am sure he will give me a class on this scan also.:D

Congratulations James, wish you and your family all the best :)

Congrats! My wife is 24 weeks, we are looking forward to a healthy little princess by the end of the year.

First child nerves starting to rattle!

Hope it's a daughter coz “A son is a son 'til he gets a wife, but a daughter is a daughter all her life. ” Good luck.

Congratulations on the next few years of sleepless nights and dirty diapers :yk

Congratulationsssssss. God bless.

Congrats Bro!! I became a father just couple of years ago and it has been a tough journey. I agree with lots of posters here. Don't read too much online as it will stress both of you out. This advice is after the baby is born as well. Just let your kid grow up in his/her own pace. Congrats again to you and your missus.

Wow exciting news! :mv

Congratulations man. Hope everything goes well.

In short, think of them as real-life tamagotchis.

Congrats btw.

I think life's beautiful and hope all of you have an amazing time with your kids.

Congrats James, lovely newz.

The most important thing is that it is a healthy baby, but if it is a boy he might become the next Leeds United star lol.

Having children is a big blessing. I have 3 myself. It can be stressing at times, but you will never become a victim of boredom, full action all the time.

The first couple of months can be tricky if the newborn is suffering from colic, we were lucky none of our had colic so it was good to avoid sleepless nights.

Good luck both of you:)

Congrats to every expecting parent in this thread (James, kaayal, CC and Halaribol if I counted right haha)

I hope every one of you are blessed with a wonderful child who gives you immense joy lifelong.

Thanks, bud. LOL, there seems to be a thread for everything on Pakpassion. Great place.

James savour every single moment.
From the pregnancy to the first steps just take it all in and enjoy every moment.

This comes from a father who just dropped his baby daughter off to Uni!

Congratulations to you and your wife. :)

It is the most incredible feeling. I have always wanted children.

I am most looking forward to... all of it, but particularly for some reason I am excited to go on primary school open days with child - I will be watching out for their eyes lighting up when they sense the place of education where they will be most comfortable. Learning, education, expanding the mind - very important.

Cartoons brother is becoming a dad too?

Congrats CC and his wife.

Loads of advice on what to do about the baby, but on your wife.

I've seen my sister and cousin go into severe depression post-delivery. Take care of her, it's very possible she does too.

Congrats!!

Your life will change drastically, but if you can arrange your life to have more free time then you can enjoy priceless moments as family. You will also be sleepless for first few months, but it will pass. Pay attention to keep your wife cheerful.
