While Sarfraz's behaviour was shameful to say the least, I find it funny how Pakistan fans/media are making way more noise compared to the South African contingent.
Holier than thou attitude.... these same people refer to their short or fat friends as chotay or motay and in Pakistani context the word Sarf said also falls under that category. However, it shouldn't have been said specially when you are representing your country. A slap on the wrists is warranted. Funny that them same "angels" do not have a problem when Kohli curses his mouth off. What Sarf said is nowhere close to what Kohli spews on a daily basis.
To be fair I don’t think even sarfaraz has read his own tweets. He doesn’t manage his account, if you see his timeline, there’s RTs during the time of the match.
And why would he call himself black?
Why would he talk about his own mother?
If he was talking to himself why was he facing towards Phehlukwayo and screaming like a dick across the pitch?
Big K4L4 wrestler
Should have posted a video message, instead of having his social media team come up with some rubbish on his behalf.
A very weak apology, but not surprising. Our captain continues to show how he is clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.
what a doofusMy words were not directed towards anyone in particular

Must appreciate bro - at least you showed up. There could be difference in opinion, but guts to fight a lost battle must be saluted.

The wording seems to be the sort of drivel the PCB come up with actually.
What would you have liked him to have said?
So he is calling everyone kaala? Who came up with these tweets?
Nothing.
The PCB release was enough. They could have just added a very short apology from Sarfaraz.
Fair point.
Im sure he feels really upset by this. You've prob met him and the people I know who have said he's a real nice person and this out of character.
Well, these people will finally get what they have wanted for more than a year now. Let's see how Pakistan become world beaters under a new captain now.Holier than thou attitude.... these same people refer to their short or fat friends as chotay or motay and in Pakistani context the word Sarf said also falls under that category. I wonder how Qasim Umar Pakistan first black cricketer would feel about this matter and also how Sarfraz has responded to this issue

I’m sure these tweets were typed in by someone who is supposed to be educated and knowledgeable.
There should be an inquiry into who wrote this pathetic apology. Clearly if it was some professional PR person then they should be fired. If it was Sarfraz then he needs to clarify what he means by unfortunately caught by the stump mic? This should not happen when Pakistan is trying to improve its image when rest of the cricket world has turned its back on it. Think about how much pressure there will be in Ab De Villers to not visit Pakistan because of this episode. This type of behavior is inexcusible from an individual like Sarfraz who is not liked by many in his own team.
Let's see who this captain is, who will pull his own weight in terms of individual performance.Except that no one has ever claimed that. The sensationalism of the defenders of Sarfraz's captaincy/performance is funny.
Pakistan will not become a world beater if he is replaced, Rizwan is no Gilchrist etc. etc.
Yes everyone knows that. This poor team will not become a top team with a new captain, and Rizwan is not going to perform like Buttler or Bairstow, but just because we are a poor team and not exactly blessed with WK options doesn't mean that Sarfraz should get a free run.
The team is getting thumped frequently and his individual performance has been very poor. He has no business leading the team.
If we are to lose, why not with a captain who is at least pulling his own weight in terms of individual performance?
Unless I'm missing something, what Sarfraz said was overtly racist.
Can someone explain why it wasn't?
Those people are not captaining test sides and visiting a country ravaged by racism. On this very site derogatory words used against Muslims are banned (rightly so). But when your lt captain utters a word which is clearly associated as racist ( he may not have meant it) you are supporting him? Minimum Sarfarz should be doing is to tender a genuine apologyHolier than thou attitude.... these same people refer to their short or fat friends as chotay or motay and in Pakistani context the word Sarf said also falls under that category. One of the most pathetic generic replies one can come up with, seems to be penned by some 12 year old.

With this ’apology’, it’s from the frying pan now straight into the fire
