While it is wise to learn from your experience, it is wiser to learn from other’s experiences.

So what are some life hacks which have helped you deal in situations. Anything is welcome.

Let me start with one -

When I know someone is going to ask me for a loan or money, and i donot wish to partake, I divert & simply ask them a different, rather bigger favour. Both sides retreat & everyone is happy.

When I was prefect in hostel, If someone comes with a complain, I'll simply ask them about their personal life, to get a gf, have fun in life and used to bore them to death. At some point of time, they leave by themselves.

Problem solved.

Whenever you start your car or bike, dont rush off at full throttle immediately.

Wait for 15-20 secs, maybe, adjust your mirrors etc.

So by this time, the oil pump will lubricate the engine evenly, and will prevent some amount of wear & tear of the moving parts of the engine.

Keep your phone in priority mode; immediate family calls/msgs will be audible, and the rest of the contacts on silent.

Make it clear that you don’t do phone calls. You prefer to communicate through texting and email.

You will have mental peace.

Here are some of my personal methods:

1) I generally treat people same way they treat me. If someone is not nice with me, I also show no care for the person. If someone is nice with me, I am also nice.

2) If someone asks me for a favor and I don't want to do it or I can't do it, I say I am unable to do it. I don't like to beat around the bush.

3) Always talk less and keep it simple. The less you talk, the less drama you are likely to face.

Don't try and compare yourself with others, you will remain unhappy.

Don't want to talk to someone on the phone? Annoy your kids, take their iPad off them, turn the TV off, just annoy them and most kids instantly cry anyway then tell the caller that you have to sort your kids out. I don't know how else to end a call, people just keep going on and on.

if you lend someone money decide whether u will persue its return before hand, i.e. if lending to a friend accept that you may never get it back and you wont stress about delays, etc, which will ruin your relationship.

if you are lending with the expectation of getting it back state and record the date you expect the money back so there is awkwardness when requesting the money back.

i once had a mate forget he owed me money and repaid me after a long time when he realised since he genuinely forgot, and i had too, on the other hand i had an associate owe me money who i had to persure for nearly 6 months every week to get it all back. it was ugly and definitely not worth the returns for the time i spent running after them.

also when tired hit the gym. its counter intuitive but in modern society most of our tiredness comes from mental stress, and when the bodies not tired u have trouble sleeping and then u go down a bad road.

Don't spend too long on internet forums.

haha, so true, internet in general man, its a twisted reality.

Haha thats a bit long winded man. It must cause you major pain after wards to calm the down.

I sometimes answer the phone but pretend my battery is going to die soon. Good way to hang up the call if needed and then can follow up 15-20 mins later with a text saying sorry my battery was going to die it was great to speak to you though.
