This guy is just making his debut in the Pakistan Cup and I'm already mightily impressed. He is easily over 6 feet tall. Well over 6 feet, from what it looks like. Something someone like Junaids would be interested in. He's bowling at pace. Making Junaid Khan look like a trundled at the other end and is not shy of bowling short while also maintaining a good line and length and throwing in a good yorker every now and then and at good pace.

To go with that, I'm hearing he bats really well too and someone mentioned he made Sohail Tanvir look like a club level bowler recently.

Looks like he gives fitness importance too. Not skinny, not fat. Just right. Hopefully Pakistan can play him in the A squads and hopefully he gets a deal in the PSL next year.

Fast bowling all-rounders are like gold dust. It was catastrophic that Pakistan didn't have ten years with both Azhar Mahmood and Abdul Razzaq at numbers 6 and 7 in both the Test and ODI teams.

Agreed. Fast bowling all rounders have been prolific throughout history. Pakistan have had a few in the past few years, guys like Anwar Ali, Bhatti or Yamin who everyone keeps talking about. However, there's one thing this guy offers that they don't, a lot of height and good pace.

Looks incredibly raw at the moment but can be a good cricketer in the future.

Doesn't look awfully quick hovering around the 125-130 km/h region.

However, his structure gives off the feel of a big, strong hitter.

He won't develop in domestic cricket.

I'd fast track him to the national squad so he can net against the best batsmen and bowlers and be mentored by the best senior players and coached by the best coaches.

He definitely looks quicker than that considering Junaid Khan bowls at around 133 KPH at average speed and Nawaz looks a lot quicker than him.

Ellipsism what do you think his height is? Looks at least 6'1 to me.

As the commentators mentioned he's bowling medium-fast and is definitely not bowling faster than Junaid.

Definitely taller than six foot.

He has a lot of resemblance to Stoinis, ranging from their looks to the similar bowling action.

In his first match he's bowled better than fahim ashraf. I'm impressed.

Wasim made Abdual Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood all rounder by sending them on # 3.

As per my Cricket knowledge Wahab/Shadab have same skill set of Abdual Razzaq/Azhar Mahmood in betting , But we need to polish their batting skill by Sending them on # 3 , Use them pinch hitter or slogger in first 15 overs.

Cricket world just remembers Sanath Jasayria a Left Arm slow Bowler , if his captain does not give him the opportunity to open the inning.

Are you serious? As per your cricketing knowledge Wahab has the same batting skill set as Razzaq or Mahmood? If this is as per your cricketing knowledge, I would suggest u watch a lot more cricket. An out of form Razzaq will still be better than what Wahab ever was. Wahab is just a tail ender hack.
And thinking of Shadab as a slogger? If you would have watched PSL that guy can bat well but slogging isnt his forte.

Looked okay but same problem of playing many many dot balls and not rotating strike. Eventually gave away his wicket trying to slog one over cow corner.

Remember, according to this forum, circa 2008-07, umar akmal was an all rounder. And hammad azam was abdul razzaq replacement.

I don't know much about his batting but his bowling is definitely something to work with. He's been bashed all over but has shown hints of pace and bounce. His height should also help him.

Looks very very decent. Isn't a finished article by any means but definitely has enough potential in both departments to be a strong player. Batting at 5 today means he does have good batting skills too which are trusted by the mangement. As Junaids said, get this guy into the national team, he looks the best out of the current crop of All Rounders, playing in domestics and we may lose him in few years. Make him bat 5 and ask him to bowl at least 6 overs each game, thats the only way we are gonna develop him into something

Nasir nawaz? Fast bowler, waziristan???

This guy is a batsmen, hes from rawal pindi plays for my club

he might be born in South Waziristan probably, but hes from pindi

He is also the current U19 captain of Pakistan team aswell.

Doesn't bowl that much in practice nets, he practices with the bat. He is famous all around Pindi for his batting

Very raw at the moment but there is plenty of potential there. Good to see a lot of allrounders popping up. It was only a matter of selecting them. The way kids grow up playing cricket in Pakistan you are naturally trained in both departments.

Playing for Rawalpindi in the National T20 Cup. Hasn't bowled yet but his scores so far are:

20 (12)- batting at 7 in a last ball finish
42 (29)- opened the batting

One to watch.

Is his age genuine?

wooooooooow how can he hit so long , never seen anyone hit big sixes like this in pakistan domestic and that too a kid that just finished playing pakistan U-19 , hopefully atleast he makes into psl as 21th player of any side

He's hits the bowl a mile. What i also like about him is that he got a decent technique too and can play both sides of the wicket. Plus an excellent fielder and can bowl too. He should aim to become a bating all rounder. He's got a bright future ahead of him. Yes i hope somone picks him it will be great for his development.

Picked up length quickly, enjoyed pace on the ball and effortlessly cleared the boundary.

His development depends on how genuine his age is, but definitely plenty to work with.

One to keep an eye out for. Read above that he is captain of U19, I dont think he is that young, from his looks and structure he seems to be somewhere around 24.

Anyways still young and well built. I want Azhar and Mickey to pick this lad for A tours and possible get him in one of the PSL sides, even if he doesn't play in PSL he will improve just by being part of a professional team structure.

Mighty impressive batsman someone we can use for long handle down the order or like old fashioned up the anti player coming at 3/4. His bowling is also impressive and can touch 140 on good days. Like I said he is far from international material but definitely should be among the eligible for A tours ahead.

Does'nt look very young, nice height and muscular for U-19 has a nice follow-through of the bat, the best timer I've seen for a long time. In his 42 off 29 hit huge which remained in the air for sometime before coming back into the stands. Played like a Jayasuriya type of innings carefree and mostly in the air. Well all of his 4s and 6s were hit in the air, no ground shots.

Might get a chance in PSL this year. Teams have the option of a 21st pick and I think most will go for it. Islamabad United managed Rehan Ul Haq already started Islamabad had their eyes on him at the draft. So you never know, he may feature in PSL3.

If they pick him it will be great. I just hope someone picks him and plays him as an opener. Talat and him will be a good combo for IU.

Clip of his performance today?

Looks to have a lot of time. Considering the amount of resources wasted on the likes of Shazad, Akmal etc, why isnt a punt taken on some of these guys in a pointless T20 game.

Thoughts MMHS Chief Destroyer

He plays off side shots better than many in PAK national team!!! :)

I think, kid has a very good bat swing and looks like a shed of Padeya, but opposite strength - poor against spin. Why not QG picks him and continue this opening pair of Pindi team? Only problem is - where Asad will go?

Exactly him and Amin whould be ideal. You think he can play for us in future?

Superb. I was mightily impressed when I saw his batting at lower levels, just wanted to see if he could replicate against better bowlers.

If you think he's superb then he's definitely one to keep an eye on. Hopefully some PSL team picks him. I am actually quite shocked that Tanvir played him and that too opening the innings.

Despite the potential, he's not ready to play for Pakistan or PSL yet. He needs a full domestic season. There's no need to rush him.

Yes, i do agree with you there is no need to rush him. But, don't you think PSL will make him get noticed. The only thing i fear is him falling to our coaches and don't want him to waste few years like Nauman anwar.

He's definitely on the radar if he's selected for a domestic tourney this early in his career. Let's hope he's in good hands. Getting selected for PSL is not a problem if the selection is based on potential and they're willing to invest in him. It is if they expect immediate results and will discard him otherwise. That's why it would be better for him to tighten up his game and get a year of domestic experience under his belt. Despite the low standards, the long season grind does prepare players mentally.

Tall bowler is really needed in your test set-up. Hopefully in a year or so this guy will be pushing for a spot. If he could come in at #7 or #8 and be a Brett Lee or Johnson/Starc style dangerous hitting batsman he'd be a final piece in your test puzzle I reckon.

He's a batting allrounder.

Ahmed Jamal is by no means a trundler and this guy is slapping him around for joke. What a talent.

Oh my word!

The cleanest hitter I've seen so far in the national t20 cup..the bat swing though and the follow through. .awesome!!!

Wanna see this guy come through man..strikes it clean

Decent hitting his technique will be tested the more he plays some of the bowls were pies hit me deliveries but he put them away without any problems.
By playing FC and 4 day cricket a real judgment can be made of his potential as an international player.

A very good talent from the looks of it. Needs to put more games under his belt for now. Toil for a good long season and might be fast-tracked into the national t20 team a yr later. Sky is the limit for the guy.

Is this a Pak player?

Wow!

He looks to me like an English hitter.

That bat swing tho!

Above all, he looks like a hitter, rather than a slogger.

Man these U19 guys are talented. Nasir, Shadab, Hassan Khan all are good.

This guy picks up length well, hits it clean and fantastic balance.

Have never seen a Pakistani Domestic Cricketer be able to hit this big. This is god given talent. Should be picked up as the 21st player by a PSL team.

Ahmed Jamal is by no means a trundler and this guy is slapping him around for joke. What a talent.

He is not a trundler but sohail tanvir smoked him for 16 in 5 balls in the last over of the match to win the match. Just saying.

His stance reminds me of Virat Kohli. Very clean hitter from South Waziristan, PSL teams should look into him.

I might be wrong in this, but I've noticed batsmen from KPK and specifically from the tribal areas play a more fearless game. They are not scared to throw their arms at the ball. However, the downside of over aggression is you can top edge it and give an easy catch to long-on long-off

Wow. Wasn't expecting that!

I wouldn't want this guy to toil in domestic cricket on sub standard wickets. If I had it my way I would fast track him in to the T20 National side and have him in the ODI squad.

If they pick him it will be great. I just hope someone picks him and plays him as an opener. Talat and him will be a good combo for IU.

IU is sorted as an XI and a squad
Maybe Peshawar, Quetta, Multan would be better options

Very impressive hand-eye coordination and bat swing, those sixes at 1:06 and 2:54 must be some of the biggest in the tournament.

He could make it in the team on his powerhitting alone. I like that he's opening for Rawalpindi too and is being given license.

Sent the video to a few of the PSL teams.

Let's see whether they are interested.

Woah looks a great prospect. Great work Saj Bhai. Hopefully he gets a PSL contract
