I did comment on him in some match threads.


Not exceptional talent but good. He is tall and has high arm action so gets bounce. His action allows him to be fairly accurate. When I saw him last time he was very lean and needed to put on some muscle. Good thing is that he is only 21, is fast medium so he can improve further. Good to see him doing well.


He is from district Vihari for whom Waqar has played aswell.

One alarming sign I see from score card is that Malik has stopped bowling, which NEVER should be allowed. Since he has sealed his spot in PAK team, he is taking it comfortably - but Malik's value can never be justified only as a No. 4 batsman. Next 8 (to 10) ODI is in AUS & UK - unless he is ready to bowl 6/7 overs of Offie, he shouldn't be automatic choice in the playing XI.

Malik must bowl his full quota in Domestics, what MoHa is doing; otherwise it's an open contest between the 2 - none of them deserve to be in playing XI as pure batsman anymore.

Unless Azhar is sacked, I am not sure how it's possible - one way is to drop UKmal & play KAkmal at 6, which is poor choice, because KAkmal's value is in top 3; other option is to drop only lefti in the line up & play him as opener with Azhar. 3rd option is to drop Babar at 4 & play Azhar at 3 dropping Malik. Option 2 & 3 are low probables as Sharjeel & Malik are not pushovers that one can drop them just to accommodate Captain - easiest target is to drop Umar, which Arthur won't like; therefore I do believe the story that Inzi wants him in ODI - "Management" in AUS doesn't.

That's why, I think there has to be some changes in "Management' in AUS before this happens.

The only surprise is that they didn't make it 1st v 2nd and 3rd v 4th.
