Marina is out of her depth, as many female commentators are these days.
There is this desperation to have female commentators around the world - most are terrible.

Including all players, I think Sikander Bakht (not the cricketer) has been the best find of this tournament.
Deep resonating voice with a very calm and composed approach. Good in-depth knowledge of the game and very timely commentary to go along with the play on the field. And his English language is quite clean and decent too.
He seems experienced and did a great professional job.
IMO, he can surely be a good option to take English commentary for all future Pak games abroad. He is much better than Ramiz Raja.

People will always complain ruthlessly rather than acknowledge improvement. One sports reporter WK is still miffed about the PCB decision to abolish departmental cricket as if he has some personal thekka involved and when told about the positives the PCB has achieved i.e. bringing international teams like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, PSL and now potentially England, South Africa, Australia, he goes like that the present PCB administration has not achieved such a huge teer and that they are just reeping of the benefits of the work done by Najam Sethi and the fact that the present security situation and environment in Pakistan is much better in comparison to 2009 to 2015 and had this PCB administration had to bring international cricket back to Pakistan during that time period, even they would have struggled.
I can understand why the PCB gets miffed with reporters like this and stay clear of them
Completely agree on Bakht. Alhamdulillah he has a good voice and A decent knowledge but it was other factors that stood out as well. He raised interesting questions during commentary and seemed overall like a likeable 'fun' presence. When you look forward to hearing a guy speak, you know he's quality.
I thought Sana Mir cane across as quite knowledgeable. She'd raise some very interesting tactical points regularly every time she was on, regarding field placing etc. And because she's not a typical 'establishment' person, She had zero qualms in calling out bad passages of play. My only criticism of Sana would be her voice inflection. If she could sound a little bit more lively in commentary, it would go a long way. Currently, despite making relevant points, She sounded a bit jaded. I'm not talking about the PSL cocaine commentary levels of energy, just enough that catches the viewers attention.
Zaynab, whilst mainly a presenter, was a steady hand at commentary. I think she was consistent as a play-by-play commentator, and as a commentator, if u can't add to the proceedings, you shouldn't detract from it. As such, She did a consistent professional job.
Bazid Khan is a lot more looser in commentary these days. I did enjoy his banter with Sikander in the commentary box.
However, he still needs to keep adding astute observations to his commentary to stop going the Rameez Raja way.
Tariq Saeed, who I've heard for the first time, was quality. He has an immense Urdu vocabulary, and his commentary was both informative and analytical. He also, as regards his on-air 'discussion' with Azhar Ali goes, willing to ask important questions.
Rameez Raja and Wasim Akram can be given the same grade. Not only was the broadcast poorer by their inclusion, it made it unwatchable. And please understand, this isn't a case of familiarity breeds contempt. Whenever they were on screen (especially Rameez in the final), there was such negativity towards the play. Now clearly the standard of play was lacking at tines, especially the fielding, but if you keep moaning about it regularly, why should I, the viewer, care about the product? A measured tone would have been more professional, but it was almost as if the product was beneath them.
Marina Iqbal got a lot of hate on here, and clearly she's a work in progress. But I believe that she is one worth sticking with, as she's someone who will improve with more reps.
Shehzar Mohammad, again, was not universally loved. I felt he was enthusiastic, and didn't say anything gaff-worthy. However, it's just that he didn't have the voice for commentary, which made his contribution seem worse than it was.
Which brings us to Azhar Ali. For me, before the Tariq Saeed argument, he was, after Sikander Bakht, the mist enjoyable commentator in the box. A quirky personality, quality one liners, a consistent them of taking the Mick out of planting ten trees etc, was just really good. His interactions with Sikander, Marina and ironically Tariq Saeed before the argument were actually quite fun. But it's essential that commentators remain neutral whilst in the box. You're there to describe the action and add to it, NOT give a strong opinion on a VERY polarizing topic. It's a shame because it was clear from this stint that Azhar would make a fine future commentator and that Tariq Saeed argument has left a really bad impression. Let's see if he can recover from it.
The criticism has to be constructive and that's what Wasim Khan appreciates. He will want open and honest criticism not just whining. But there again I feel some are a bit too sensitive about any sort of criticism, almost as if people aren't allowed to criticise or make suggestions to improve Pakistan cricket.
It's like the National T20 Cup feedback - I will send Wasim Khan suggestions from PP and let him take a look. I did this with Najam Sethi too. They like that and do look at our suggestions.

Saj It's really heartening to hear that there is an avenue for fans to reach the PCB, via this forum. Thus I had some feedback, which I hope is relevant:
I'd stress that the PCB continue with the commentators that stood out, I.e. Bakht, Zaynab, Sana Mir, Tariq Saeed and Azhar Ali (despite his late faux-pas) and continue using them in the PSL as well. Wasim and Rameez are fine, but it's intriguing to see new blood in the overall presentation as well. Perhaps for the one day Pakistan Cup, they can try a new presenter to share the burden with Zaynab?
Lastly, I'd like to commend the PCB media team in making the YouTube channel interesting. It was really interesting to hear the various head coaches discuss strategy and man management, and the piece on Shan interviewing Abdullah Shafique or Azam playing the guitar humanized the players. Very good.
Perhaps for the QEA trophy, they could do a 'star of the round' feature where a lesser known name would be highlighted, along with highlights of his performance from that round of play, plus an intro to who he is, what his role in the team is, his idols, his motivations and his specific goals. At the end of the day, to drive advertiser revenue, you want to make your domestic cricket high profile, and highlighting domestic stars enhances the domestic product.
Just my two cents!
The stream for the Quaid-e-Azam trophy was playing up all day for me. No complaints about the video quality as such, but the stream was intermittently offline throughout.
Yasir Hameed commentated today. The PCB is creating numerous employment opportunities for ex players now
