Arshad Iqbal and Ahmed Bashir playing which is good to see.

Another loss on card for CP thanks to the likes of saad, abid and rizwan.

Qadir deserves to be in the squad. Massive improvement

No better front line wrist spinner than him in this tournament

Yes. He is the only spinner in this tournament who has spin the bowl consistently.

Arshad Iqbal and Ahmed Bashir playing which is good to see.

They are wasting Farhan down the order at 6 as he doesn't get to bat as he is an opener but tbf his T20 stats are not impressive so I would not have him in the T20 squad, Mohammad Haris should have or should be playing instead.

Muhammad Haris getting a few matches would complete my wishlist for this tournament.

Maybe KPK can rest Malik/Hafeez and give a chance to Haris to see what he's made of.

Clearly KPK are full of international experience stars...I think they will win the tournament easily or should i hope not though :)

Really impressed with Usman Qadir seems to have improved a lot. His economy has been really good and he has mucht better control now.

Decent bowling effort from Usman Qadir, Ehsan Adil and Ahmed Bashir.

Defo if farhaan is ganna bat dow the order u rather have haris in thier instead as he can hit big

Its better to play Mohammad Haris than playing Sahibzada Farhan at no 9.

Kpk should have got 190 malik playing for himself not the team excellent bowling by qadir Bashir and adil

Malik deserves to be dropped from KPK team but what worries me is that if Malik plays for Pakistan we will definitely lose matches due to low scoring in the death overs. We need the right players at the right places and a player like Khushdil, Sohaib Maqsood or Asif Ali should be given the role.

What a pathetic innings by beghairat malik. Whats the point of playing junk zohaib.

If CP can pull off this chase it would be a decent boost for them before Babar joins for 2nd leg starting in Rawalpindi from Friday.

Tbh this comes off as selfish from Rizwan. Not playing the keeper/batsman and opening over Farhan who scored 60-odd in the first game.

Abid Ali was asked to try and utilize the powerplay which he obviously isnt much capable of.

What in the world is Sahibzada Farhan doing at #9....Abdul Razzaq is such a dud and Rizzu is spineless and insecure as ever..:rizwan

Good bowling from Arshad in this over. Good seam position and completely in control of what he was doing.

Possibly shot of the match from Abdullah Shafique

Rizwan is so selfish and insecure to give opportunity to Mohammad Haris.

If we remove Arshad Iqbal's name.

The average age of KPK's playing xi is almost 33.

Remember this is the official age, not the actual.

Hopefully PCB will ask this question from Abdul Razzaq.

Abdullah showing his backfoot game again with that shot against the pace of Wahab

Can someone please enlight me why streaming is more than a over behind?

Highly unlikely!!! Razzaq got the job by criticizing PCB. PCB doesn't want to many enemies to face.

One of these two will have to finish for CP. Rest of the batsmen arent in great from.

Disappointed with Razzaq!!! Its not like he got opportunity after 35 like Misbah so he can take revenge by fielding oldies.

They cant bring themselves to drop players they played with or now personally. Thats why a player should be at least 10 years retired before he takes over a domestic team or PSL team.

Close call on Abdullah's LBW decision.

Captain Saad Nasim will have to lead from the front here and show his worth as a batsman.

lol that was never ever out ..clearly hit him outside the line...the appealing is just making the umpires put their fingers up

Not even close. Hit him outside off. Some shoicking decisions.

There are many good young batsmen and bowlers if selected by Pak at least for easier series to be developed and gain higher experience.

When Sohail Akhtar was appointed captain of LQ, most were apprehensive but he lead from the front and did a decent job I think. Saad Nasim has been the most useless captain on display in recent times, cant score runs, cant lead and doesnt have the personality to motivate anyone.

Did Faheem A not get selected for any district team, or is he playing second team?

Lol! Saad Nasim yorked by Iftikhar's medium pace bowling.

Minnow level middle order

Shahid Anwar should have asked for Hafeez who is from CP. Wahab Riaz is a better batsman than clown Nasim

Lol! Saad Nasim yorked by Iftikhar's medium pace bowling.

Lmao. That was embarrassing. The guy cant play anything above 100kph. Itfi uncle is a true legend for bowling medium pace to him. After this embarrassment if saad has aby shame left he would retire.

Now babar is back they should drop abid ali and drop saad for irfan khan also naseem back for bilal and Abdullah should open with babar at 3

Instead abdullah will bat at 4 now with junk abid ali at 3.

Fakhar Zaman’s half-century set Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s fourth consecutive win in the ongoing National T20 Cup First XI tournament as they defeated Central Punjab by 29 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

With a blazing 66, which came off 42 balls, Fakhar registered his second half-century on trot and 20th overall in T20 cricket.

The 30-year-old provided Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a solid start as he stitched a 45-run opening stand with his captain Mohammad Rizwan, who made 23 off 14 balls, in 4.5 overs after the latter decided to bat first.

Fakhar, who smashed three fours and five sixes, then partnered with veteran Shoaib Malik, who scored an unbeaten 24-ball 27, for 42 runs before he was dismissed by Zafar Gohar in the 14th over.

Reflecting on his performance, Fakhar said: “My plan was to spend time on the pitch as the bowlers were receiving assistance early on. I wanted to get the ball to get a little old before I play my shots. I am happy that I have been able to score second consecutive half-century in a winning cause because as a player the ultimate goal is to win the match for your team.

“That we have the presence of experienced players in Hafeez and Shoaib also help a great deal as they share their experience and knowledge. They help us in reading the conditions both while batting and fielding. Winning is a habit, which we have developed after losing the first match. We are enjoying our time here and have gelled together as a unit.”

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s scoring rate received a massive boost with Asif Afridi’s 20 off seven balls. The 33-year-old Peshawar-born struck two sixes and a four that lifted his team to 178 for seven.

Right-arm medium fast Ahmed Bashir was the pick of the bowlers for Central Punjab with three for 32 in four overs. Zafar, Ehsan Adil, Qasim Akram and Usman Qadir took one wicket each.

Abid Ali’s lacklustre run in the tournament continued as the right-handed batsman got out on the last ball of the opening over of the run chase after hitting a boundary.

A 92-run stand for the second wicket between Kamran Akmal and Abdullah Shafiq gave Central Punjab’s fans hope of their side securing their second win of the tournament. They were, however, crashed as Central Punjab slipped from one for 99 to six for 128 in a span of 23 balls after Kamran was caught behind, courtesy brilliant glovework by Rizwan, off Shoaib’s off-spin in the 12th over.

Kamran missed what would have been his 42nd T20 half-century by three runs as he scored 47 from 37 balls, while Abdullah made a 37-ball 43. Both struck five boundaries apiece – four fours and a six.

Central Punjab were bowled out for 149 with four balls spare. Arshad Iqbal, playing his first match of the tournament after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rested Shaheen Shah Afridi, returned two for 20. Asif Afridi, Junaid Khan and Wahab Riaz also took two wickets each.

The two teams will meet again on 14 October at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Scores in brief:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 178-7, 20 overs (Fakhar Zaman 66, Shoaib Malik 27 not out, Mohammad Rizwan 23, Asif Afridi 20; Ahmed Bashir 3-32)

Central Punjab 149 all out, 19.2 overs (Kamran Akmal 47, Abdullah Shafiq 43; Arshad Iqbal 2-20, Asif Afridi 2-27, Junaid Khan 2-27, Wahab Riaz 2-34)

Instead abdullah will bat at 4 now with junk abid ali at 3.

Abid ali literally bats slow only gets 20 and 30s at run a ball which isnt good enough he needs to be dropped.abdullah should open to utilise the power play
