Adeel Meo’s six wickets guided defending champions Sindh U19 to a winning start as they recorded a five-wicket win over Balochistan U19 in the opening-round of the National U19 50-over tournament, while Central Punjab and Northern defeated Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, respectively.

At LCCA ground in Lahore, Balochistan after being put to bat were bundled out for 171 in 45.2 overs.

For Sindh, slow left-arm bowler Adeel grabbed six wickets for 20 runs in 10 overs, while Haider Razzaq was the other notable bowler taking two wickets for 27.

For Balochistan, Mohammad Ibrahim Senior contributed a 56-ball 41, hitting seven fours. He knitted a 74-run partnership for the third wicket with Basit Ali (29 off 57 balls).

In return, Sindh chased down the target in 33.2 overs, thanks to Talha Ahsan’s unbeaten knock of 34 from 54 balls which included three fours and a six.

Mubashir Nawaz was also amongst the runs scoring an unbeaten 71-ball 27.

Both contributed an unbroken 73 runs partnership for the sixth wicket.

For Balochistan, Hikmat Ullah took three wickets for 41 runs.

In the second match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Central Punjab defeated Southern Punjab by four wickets.

Southern Punjab, after opting to bat, scored 210 for six in 50 overs.

Mohammad Shehzad batting at number three top-scored with a 89-ball 70, which was studded with six fours and a six. Mubashar Ali scored an unbeaten 54 off 50 balls laced with six fours.

For Central Punjab, Saeed Ali took two wickets for 48 runs in 10 overs.

In reply, Mohammad Huraira (46) and Umar Eman (40) helped Central Punjab to chase down the target in 38.5 overs for the loss of six wickets.

In the third 50-over match of the day, an all-round performance from Mubasir Khan helped Northern overcome Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 66 runs at the Country Club, Muridke.

Northern, after being put to bat, scored 210 for seven in 50 overs. Hassan Abid Kiyani struck an 80-ball 60 with seven fours and two sixes. Abdul Faseeh contributed 57 from 88 balls, hitting four fours.

The duo contributed 108-run for the second-wicket partnership.

Coming to bat at number four Mubasir Khan chipped in with a 75-ball 46, hitting two fours and as many sixes.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Izhar Ahmed, Maaz Sadaqat and Usman Shah took two wickets each.

Chasing 211, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were dismissed for 144 in 39.5 overs.

Haris Khan who got retired out top-scored with 27 off 48, while Ahmed Khan and Salman Khan scored 25 and 21 runs, respectively.

Mubasir Khan with his off-spin grabbed four wickets for 15 runs in 10 overs. Adil Naz took two wickets for 23 runs.

An unbeaten 102 from Hussain helped Northern clinch a three-wicket win over Central Punjab in the second round match on Wednesday.

At Rana Naved ul Hasan Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, after being put to bat, Central Punjab scored 239 for nine in 50 overs. Afzal Manzoor coming to bat at number nine scored an unbeaten 51 from 42 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. Hasnat Abbas (47) and Bilal Munir (42) were other notable scorers.

For Northern, Mubasir Khan took four wickets for 30, while Sajjad Khan grabbed three wickets for 36 runs.

In reply, Northern lost three wickets for 77 runs on the board, but Abdul Faseeh (55 from 70 balls, 11 fours) contributed a 86-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Hussain.

Hussain’s unbeaten knock of 102 came from 84 balls, smashing nine fours and six sixes.

For Central Punjab, Umar Eman picked two wickets for 21.

At LCCA Ground in Lahore, Southern Punjab after being put to bat were bowled out for 168 in 38.3 overs against Balochistan.

For Balochistan, right-arm fast bowler Aurangzaib grabbed four wickets for 42 runs in 9.3 overs, while Hikmat Ullah and Mohammad Ibrahim Senior took two wickets apiece.

Southern Punjab’s Mubashir Ali top-scored with a 48-ball 37, hitting three fours and a six. Faizan Zafar and Mohammad Shehzad chipped in with 36 and 33 runs, respectively.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Izhar Ahmed took four wickets for 25 runs, while Ahmed Khan and Shahid Khan grabbed two wickets each.

In reply, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out for 166 in 46 overs courtesy Aaliyan’s four wickets. The off-spinner gave away 35 runs in 10 overs. Kashif Ali and Zeeshan Zameer took two wickets each for the winning team.

Lahore, 17 October 2020:

In the third-round of the National U19 One-Day Tournament, a three-wicket haul and 41 runs from Sindh’s captain Saim Ayub guided his side to a five-wicket win over Southern Punjab, while Northern and Central Punjab registered victories over Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, respectively.

At Country Club in Muridke, after being put to bat, Southern Punjab were bowled out for 107 in 37.1 overs. Aun Shehzad (46) and Mehboob Ahmad (23) were the only batsmen to enter into double figures for Southern Punjab.

For Sindh, Adeel who took six for 20 against Balochistan in the first match and scored 54 off 71 balls against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the second match, ended up taking three wickets for 22 runs in today’s game. Saim and Zeeshan Zameer took three wickets apiece for 11 and 23 runs, respectively.

In reply, Sindh chased down the target in 15 overs for the loss of five wickets. Saim’s 30-ball 41 included eight fours and a six. Kashif Ali scored a quickfire unbeaten 28 from 11 balls, laced with three fours and two sixes. Saim, for his all-round performance, was named player of the match.

For Southern Punjab, Faisal Akram and Mehboob Ahmad picked two wickets each.

At Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Northern cruised to a nine-wicket win over Balochistan.

Balochistan, after being asked to bat, were bowled out for 92 in 25 overs.

Faiz Ullah, who batted at nine, was the top-scorer in the innings with 17 from 24 balls.

For Northern, Adil Naz, later named player of the match, and Faizan Saleem picked three wickets apiece, while Mubasir Khan and Zaman Khan grabbed two wickets each.

In reply, Northern chased down the target in 15.5 overs courtesy a 44-run opening stand between Hassan Abid Kiyani (30 from 24 balls, five fours) and Mohammad Raza-ul-Mustafa, who made 23 not out from 34 balls, hitting two fours.

In the third match of the day, Central Punjab held their nerves to clinch a three-run win over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at LCCA Ground, Lahore.

Central Punjab were dismissed for 177 in the 47th over after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa captain Abbas Ali elected to field.

Mohammad Huraira, the Central Punjab captain, top-scored with an 87-ball 72, laced with five fours and two sixes. He knitted a 40-run partnership for the first wicket with Ali Hasan (21).

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, left-arm spinner Haris Khan took four wickets for 23 in 10 overs. Maaz Sadaqat and Usman Shah chipped in with two wickets each.

Chasing 178 to win, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa opening batsmen Mohammad Farooq (31) and Salman Khan (9) provided a solid opening stand of 57. After the departure of both batsmen, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, they were 87 for five.

Ahmed Khan, coming to bat at eight, provided some stability and top-scored with a 58-ball 39, which included two fours. After the departure of Ahmed, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out for 174 in 39 overs.

For Central Punjab, Hunain Shah and Arham Nawab picked three wickets apiece. Hunain was named player of the match.

Maaz Sadaqat’s all-round display spearheaded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19’s 91-run win over Southern Punjab in the National U19 One-Day Tournament. In other games of the day, Sindh beat Northern by seven wickets, while Balochistan beat Central Punjab by 23 runs.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa posted 272 for nine after Southern Punjab captain Mohammad Shehzad elected to field. The highlight of their innings was a 168-run third-wicket partnership between Maaz Sadaqat who made 93 off 137 balls (eight fours, one six) and Abbas Ali, who scored 91 off 110 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes.

For Southern Punjab Awais Abbas and Tahir Hussain took two wickets each for 48 and 53 runs, respectively.

In reply, Southern Punjab were bowled out for 181 in 46.3 overs. Mohammad Ammar scored 70 runs off 112 balls, while Mubashir Ali scored 50 off 57 balls.

Maaz, later named player of the match, followed his brilliant batting performance with three for 17 runs in 3.3 overs. Ahmed Khan took three wickets for 23 runs.


Balochistan U19 v Central Punjab U19, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura:

Batting first, Balochistan posted 223 for seven in 50 overs. Ali Ahmad top-scored with 63 off 98 balls (eight fours) and Haseebullah, later named player of the match, scored 61 also off 98 balls with seven fours. Basit Ali was the third batsman in the innings to score a half-century as he made 50 off 55 balls. Muneeb Wasif, with three for 38, was the pick of the Central Punjab bowlers. Hasnat Abbas took two wickets for 29 runs.

In reply, Central Punjab were bowled out for 200 runs in 46.5 overs, Muneeb, batting at eight, top-scored in the innings with 48 runs. Khalid Khan and Abu Hurraira took two wickets each, while four batsmen were run out.


Northern U19 v Sindh U19, LCCA Ground, Lahore:

Saim Ayub scored 87 not out off 106 balls with eight fours and one six to guide his team to a seven-wicket win over Northern. He was named player of the match.

Sindh completed the chase of 200 runs in 39.5 overs at the loss of three wickets. Kashif Ali, batting at four, scored 52 off 73 balls. Saim and Kashif added 124 runs for the third-wicket to ensure an easy win for Sindh.

Earlier, Northern, after being asked to bat, managed 199 for eight.

Middle-order batsman Sher Abdul Rehman top-scored with an unbeaten 68 off 75 balls (five fours, three sixes). Opener Raza-ul-Mustafa made 32 from his 51-ball stay at the crease.

Sindh’s Aaliyan starred with the ball as he returned four for 32 from 10 overs, while Talha Ahsan took two for 45.

Ismail Khan took six wickets to spearhead Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19’s to 85-run win over Balochistan in the National U19 One-Day Tournament. In the third game of the day, Southern Punjab beat Northern by three wickets.

Central Punjab U19 v Sindh U19, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura:

In a thrilling contest, Sindh overcame Central Punjab by a margin of one wicket.

After being put into bat, Central Punjab scored 262 for seven in 50 overs. Mohammad Huraira scored 109 off 118 balls, which included 12 fours and a six. Malik Abdul Rafay chipped in with an unbeaten 65-ball 60, hitting six fours and a six.

Zeeshan Zamir grabbed four wickets for 50 runs in 10 overs.

Sindh opening batsmen Mubashir Nawaz and Saim provided a solid start to the run-chase. The duo contributed 81 runs for the opening wicket. Mubashir scored a quickfire 34-ball 37, hitting two sixes and three fours. Next batsman Hassan Jafri (43 off 57 balls, five fours) stitched a 119-run partnership for the second wicket with Saim, who struck as many as 15 fours and two sixes in his 121 off 111 balls.
For his match winning knock Saim bagged his third player of the match award of the tournament.

After the departure of both batsmen, Sindh lost its way in the run-chase before Aaliyan Mehmood (6 not out, 23 balls) and Haider Razzaq (2 not out off 2 balls) took the side over the line with an unbeaten seven-run partnership for the 10th wicket.

For Central Punjab, Ali Asfand took five wickets for 50 runs.

In a low scoring game, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after being put into bat were dismissed for 153 in 41.5 overs. Haseeb Khan top-scored with a 79-ball 40, hitting six fours, while Haris Khan contributed 37 from 60 balls.

Sindh registered their sixth win in as many matches in the ongoing National U19 One-Day Tournament on Friday. The other two matches were won by Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Balochistan U19 v Sindh U19, LCCA Ground, Lahore:

Batting first, Sindh U19 made 257 all out from 49.2 overs. Hassan Jafri top-scored with an 86-ball 78, hitting eight fours and a six. He stitched a 124-run partnership for the fifth wicket with player of the match Ghazi Ghouri, who struck five fours in his innings of 69 from 75 balls.

For Balochistan, Faiz Ullah and Hikmat Ullah bagged three wickets apiece.

In reply, Balochistan were bowled out for 140 in 49 overs as leg-spinner Talha Ahsan returned four for 20 and Asim Ali grabbed three wickets for 29 runs.

Mohammad Ayaz top-scored with an unbeaten 53 from 104 balls, hitting six fours.

Central Punjab U19 v Southern Punjab U19, Country Club, Muridke:

In Punjab derby, Central Punjab beat Southern Punjab by 74 runs.

After being put into bat, Central Punjab were dismissed for 252 in 48.4 overs. Malik Abdul Rafay top-scored with 65 from 96 balls, nine of which were dispatched for fours. Mohammad Waqas (38), Ali Hassan (37) and Muneeb Zafar (31) were other notable scorers for Central Punjab.

For Southern Punjab, Awais Abbas picked five wickets for 55 runs in 10 overs. Faisal Akram chipped in with three wickets, while Mohammad Shehzad grabbed two wickets.

In reply, Southern Punjab were bundled out for 178 in 44.5 overs. Mohammad Shehzad top-scored with a 73-ball 55, hitting nine fours. Uzair Mumtaz (38 from 61 balls, six fours) contributed 94-run for the second wicket with Shehzad.

For Central Punjab, Muneeb Wasif, who was also declared the best player of the match, grabbed four wickets for 37 runs in 10 overs. Saeed Ali took three wickets for 51 runs in 10 overs.

Abbas Ali’s unbeaten 104 helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to a convincing 92-run win over Northern and also earned him player of the match award.

Batting first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 290 for seven in 50 overs. Abbas innings included nine fours and two sixes from 92 balls. He and Nasir Faraz knitted a 152-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Nasir scored a 76-ball 66, laced with five fours and two sixes.

For Northern, Zaman Khan and Mehran Mumtaz took two wickets apiece.

In reply, Northern were bowled out for 198 in 42.2 overs. Mubasir Khan (70 from 77 balls, eight fours and one six) and opener Hassan Abid Kiyani (66 from 77 balls, seven fours and one six) contributed a 113-run partnership for the second wicket.

After electing to bat, Balochistan were bowled out for 200 runs in 42 overs as Faisal’s left-arm orthodox accounted for their six batsmen.

Mohammad Ibrahim Snr scored 56 runs off 61 balls with the help of eight fours. Opener Mohammad Salman contributed 41 off 65 balls (four fours and a six).

For Southern Punjab, Jahanzaib Razzaq was the other notable bowler with two wickets for 31.

Southern Punjab overhauled the target in 43.1 overs for the loss of four wickets.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Hasnain Majid scored 80 off 68 balls with eight fours and three sixes to ensure a simple chase for his side. Uzair Mumtaz scored 33 runs with the help of four fours.

Faisal was adjudged player of the match.

No idea. I’m just conveying what’s on PCB’s records - 95% of players in this tournament are 17 or 18 year olds, 5% are 19 year olds (turned 19 recently).

There are only 2-3 kids who are listed as 15-16 year olds. He is one of them. It’s possible he’s exceptional at a young age, but you never know in Pakistan cricket.

Regardless, his performances are good whatever the age. Worth keeping an eye on.

Mehran Mumtaz took four wickets for 36 runs, while Mubasir Khan and Sajjad Khan picked up two wickets each as Balochistan were bowled out for 182 in 46.2 overs after Northern captain Mohammad Raza-ul-Mustafa elected to bowl.

Basit Ali with 35 was the top-scorer in the innings. He hit six fours from 34 balls. Opener Ali Ahmed, with 32 off 54, was the other notable run-getter.

Northern chased down the target in 37 overs for the loss of four wickets as Mubasir followed his two wickets with a solid 69. Batting at four, he smashed 11 fours and a six in 63 balls.

Abdul Faseeh made 60 runs off 88 balls with the help of six fours.

For his all-round performance, Mubasir was named player of the match.

Sindh U19 v Southern Punjab U19, Rana Naved ul Hasan Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura:

Southern Punjab captain Mohammad Shehzad’s all-round performance led his team to a three-wicket win over Sindh.

Batting first, Sindh managed 263 all out in 44.2 overs. Opener Mubashir Nawaz scored 93 off 97 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ghazi Ghouri made 40 runs. Aaliyan Mehmood and Zeeshan Zameer added 23 and 22 runs, respectively, in the lower-order.

Jahanzaib Razzaq and Mohammad Shehzad took three wickets each for 34 and 68. Faisal Akram took two wickets.

Southern Punjab overhauled the target with five balls spare as Aun Shahzad and Mohammad Shehzad laid the foundations for the successful run-chase with a solid 155-run opening stand.

Aun made 87 off 95 balls (11 fours, two sixes) and Shehzad scored 75 off 85 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.

The middle-order stuttered as Southern Punjab lost wickets at regular intervals. They had half of their batsmen back in the hut with 216 runs on the board.

But, Uzair Mumtaz with a 58-ball 42 ensured that Southern Punjab got over the line. Batting at number four, he hit four fours and a six.

National U19 One-Day Tournament: Maaz Sadaqat’s all-round show sets 49-run win for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa


Lahore, 29 October 2020:

Maaz Sadaqat’s all-round performance set a 49-run win for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over Southern Punjab in the ninth round of the National U19 One-Day Tournament on Thursday.

In the other two matches, half-centuries by Abdul Faseeh and Mohammad Waqas led Northern and Central Punjab to victories.

Balochistan U19 v Central Punjab U19, Country Club, Muridke:

Central Punjab defended a 210-run target to bag crucial two points in their ninth round fixture against Balochistan.

Arham Nawab and Hasnat Abbas took three wickets each, while Ali Asfand and Muneeb Wasif the remaining four wickets equally between them as Balochistan were bowled out for 184 in 47.4 overs.

Openers Yasir Khan (21) and Mohammad Salman (55) provided Balochistan a solid 52-run stand but the batsmen who followed them failed to make the most of it. The only other notable contribution came from number 10 batsman Abu Huraira, who made 23 off 25 balls.

That Central Punjab managed to put 209 runs on board before getting rolled out inside 45 overs was because of Mohammad Waqas’ 86-ball 59. Waqas, who had come into bat with his side struggling at 32 for three, hit eight fours and was later named player of the match.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Afzal Manzoor made 45 runs down the order.

Balochistan’s Abdul Ghaffar and Jahangir Khan picked up two wickets each.

Northern U19 v Sindh U19, LCCA Ground, Lahore:

Abdul Faseeh’s unbeaten 78 off 108 steered Northern to a three-wicket win over Sindh.

Batting at number four, Faseeh, later named player of the match, smashed five fours and a six after he came out to bat with his team 49 for two in pursuit of 215. He stitched a 60-run partnership for the third wicket with Mubasir Khan, who made 45 runs and dispatched four of the 76 balls he faced for fours.

Zeeshan Zameer took three wickets for 39 runs as he dismissed Hussain (3), wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Raza-ul-Mustafa (26) and Mehran Mumtaz (15). Adeel Meo and Aaliyan Mehmood picked up two wickets each.

Earlier, Northern bowlers Mubasir, Adil Naz and Sajjad Khan equally shared six wickets between them as Sindh managed 214 for nine.

Defending Champions Sindh to take on Northern in the final of the National U19 One-Day Tournament

· Final to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday

Adeel Meo’s yet another five-wicket haul not only helped Sindh record a comprehensive victory over Central Punjab, but also earned his side a place in the final of the National U19 One-Day tournament.

Both Sindh and Northern ended the group stage with seven wins each from 10 matches. The two teams will play at the final at the Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan's home of cricket, on Monday, 2 November.

Central Punjab U19 v Sindh U19, Country Club, Muridke:

Left-arm spinner Adeel took a five-fer as Sindh recorded a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Central Punjab.

Batting first, Central Punjab were bowled out for 179 runs in 46.1 overs. Hasnat Abbas top-scored with 44, Mohammad Huraira made 30 runs. Adeel who was declared best player of the match, took five wickets for 34 runs. Aaliyan Mehmood and Zeeshan Zameer took two wickets each.

In reply, Sindh overhauled the target for the loss of one wicket in 30.4 overs. The pair of Mubashir Nawaz and Rizwan Mahmood added 173 runs for the unbroken second-wicket partnership to ensure a comfortable victory for their side. Mubashir scored 85 off 88 balls with the help of 14 fours while Rizwan’s 83 included 10 fours and a six that came off 95 balls.

Northern U19 v Southern Punjab U19, LCCA Ground, Lahore:

An all-round performance from Mubasir Khan led Northern to a four wicket win over Southern Punjab. After being put into bat, Southern Punjab were bowled out for 127 runs in 39.2 overs. Aun Shahzad with 50 and Mubashir Ali with 40 runs were the only two batsmen to offer resistance to the Northern bowling attack. Both hit six fours each in their innings, Aun also struck one six.

Off-spinner Mubasir gave away 26 runs for three scalps, while Mehran Mumtaz, Sajjad Khan and Adil Naz took two wickets each.

In reply, Northern reached the target in 29.4 overs for the loss of six wickets, Mubasir followed his bowling brilliance with an unbeaten 58 that was studded with seven fours and a six (49 balls). His innings took his team to the victory as Southern Punjab fought hard with left-arm-spinner Faisal Akram taking three wickets for 37 runs.

Mubasir for his match winning performance was adjudicated best player of the match.

Balochistan U19 v Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U19, Rana Naved ul Hasan Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Maaz Sadaqat 82 not only helped his side to a comprehensive win over Balochistan, but also earned him player of the match award.

After being put to bat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa posted 287 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. Maaz top-scored with 82 off 106 balls, his innings included seven fours and two sixes. Haseeb Khan scored 77 off 97 balls with the help of 10 fours. The two added 142 runs for the second-wicket.

Aurangzeb took three while Muhammad Ibrahim took two wickets.

In reply, Balochistan were rolled over for 104 in 33.5 overs. Basit Ali top-scored with 26 runs which included four boundaries. Left-arm-spinner Zeeshan Ahmad took three wickets for eight runs while pacer Shahid Aziz took three for 23 runs. Haris Khan took two wickets as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bowlers blew away the opponents with their incisive bowling display.

Northern presented the National U19 One-Day Tournament title to Sindh on a silver platter when they lost their last nine wickets for 38 runs to lose the final by 53 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 243 runs in 50 overs for victory, Northern were cruising at 151 for one before they were mesmerised by wrist-spinner Aaliyan Mehmood to be spun out for 189 in 44.3 overs.

Aaliyan Mehmood returned figures of 10-0-45-4 to not only pick up the player of the final award, but also finish the tournament as the third most successful bowler with 24 wickets, including four four-fers. He averaged 15.6, while his economy-rate remained at 3.69.

Left-arm spinner Faisal Akram of Southern was the most successful bowler with 27 wickets, including two five-fers, while Mubasir Khan of Northern ended the tournament with 26 wickets at an average of 12.42, including two four-fers.

Faisal was later declared best bowler of the tournament, while Mubasir for his 26 wickets and 332 runs was named player of the tournament.

After Hassan Abid Kiyani departed early, Mohammad Shoaib Khan and Abdul Faseeh stitched up a 147-run second-wicket partnership to put Northern on course for a comfortable victory.

But the dismissal of Shoaib Khan, who scored a 84-ball 71 with six fours, and Abdul Faseeh within a space of four runs opened all floodgates as Sindh bowlers got on top of Northern batsmen to run through the innings.

Abdul Faseeh, who became one of the two Adeel Meo’s victims, scored 70 with five fours from 99 balls. The 17-year-old, who was adjudged best batsman of the tournament, finished the competition as the most impressive and consistent batsman with 524 runs, including a century and five half-centuries. Sindh’s Mubashir Nawaz was the second most successful batsman with 390 runs, followed up by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Maaz Sadaqat (363 runs).

Besides Aaliyan, Zameer Shah took two for 26, Adeel Meo bagged two for 32 and Talha Ahsan snapped up two for 36.

Earlier, and after being put into bat, Sindh were helped by wicketkeeper-batsman Ghazi Ghouri and Rizwan Mehmood to a respectable 242 for eight after they were in a spot on bother at 93 for four.

Rizwan had held the top-order together with a quality 53 from 87 balls with six fours and a six, and later, Ghazi, in association with Kashif Ali (38 off 39 with five fours and a six), added 70 runs for the seventh wicket. Ghazi contributed 62 from 83 balls with seven fours.

For Northern, Faizan Saleem and Mubasir Khan equally shared four wickets between them conceding 19 and 47 runs, respectively.

The National U19 three-day Tournament will now commence on Thursday. In the first round action, Balochistan will take on Sindh at the LCCA, Lahore, Central Punjab will meet Southern Punjab at Rana Navedul Hasan Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura, and Northern will square off against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Lahore Country Club in Muridke.
