I doubt most Arab countries even truly care about Israel anymore, these terrorist organisations are far more threatening to their countries. They prefer Israel over these terrorist organisations.

It's not like they have not taken refugees or asylum seekers in before. There are many Kuwaiti Saudis, Palestinian Saudis, Sudanese Saudis and Syrian Saudis.

At best the Middle East nationa will do trade deals and recognize Israel but at same time demand recognition of Palestine.

They have too much to lose if they came out in the open. Israel's image has been badly tarnished globe wide. Hence, the West are running the long game and Israel acts as both the strategic director and the enforcer.

A couple killed in the Bondi Beach shooting tried to stop one of the alleged attackers by grabbing his gun, dramatic dashcam footage shows.

Boris Gurman, 69, and his wife Sofia, 61, courageously stepped in to try and protect others before being shot themselves, their family said in a statement.

Video of the incident shows Mr Gurman, who was retired, wrestling with one of the gunmen and taking the weapon off him, before they both fall onto the road.

Mr Gurman then gets up and appears to hit the attacker with the gun. The attacker is then thought to have got another gun which he used to kill them.

"While nothing can lessen the pain of losing Boris and Sofia, we feel an overwhelming sense of pride in their bravery and selflessness," the family said.

"This encapsulates who Boris and Sofia were - people who instinctively and selflessly tried to help others."

The Gurman couple, who were Jewish, were the first two people killed in Sunday's attack, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

At least 15 people have been confirmed dead in the shooting, which happened during an event to mark the first day of Hanukkah.

In their statement, the family said the couple had been married for 34 years.

"We are heartbroken by the sudden and senseless loss of our beloved Boris and Sofia Gurman.

"Boris was a retired mechanic, known for his generosity, quiet strength and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

"Sofia worked at Australia Post and was deeply loved by her colleagues and community.

"Bondi locals, together they lived honest, hardworking lives and treated everyone they met with kindness, warmth and respect. Boris and Sofia were devoted to their family and to each other. They were the heart of our family, and their absence has left an immeasurable void."

Witnesses have described Mr Gurman as a "hero".

The woman who owns the dashcam footage told Reuters that Mr Gurman "did not run away - instead, he charged straight toward the danger, using all his strength trying to wrestle away the gun and fighting to the death".

"I can see from my camera that the elderly man was ultimately shot and collapsed. That moment broke my heart," she said.

Another person who said they witnessed the incident told 9News: "He was a hero. He tried, he tried. We need to let his family know.

"Everyone needs to know what he tried, because it was right in the beginning. And he put himself in that face of danger. There were bullets flying already, and he put his self in the face of danger."

RIP. Very sad to hear. Innocent bystanders who wanted to do nothing more than celebrate their religious holiday and go to the beach. I hope these evil terrorists are punished to the fullest extent of the law.
 
This attack has nothing to with the person's nationality. This is yet another Islamic Terrorist attack perpetrated as an act of revenge against Palestinian sufferings at the hand of Israel. The very same reason why Manchester Synagogue was attacked couple of months ago.

The usual suspects (including a certain moderator) tried every possible trick since yesterday to downplay it. Even that poor Aussie poster got gang up and mauled just because he was concern about his safety. And today even (otherwise) sensible posters trying to give it an Indian colour.

One of the most impressive things to see has been the response of the Australian leadership led by PM Anthony Albanese, whose public messaging has been focused on how they will not let an incident like this "divide the country"... and not just him but even people like former PM Malcolm Turnbull have been quick to shut to others like that low-life Netanyahu who have tried to exploit this terrible tragedy for their own personal gain.

I've seen pictures of Albanese, and visit the brave hero Ahmed Al Ahmed and members of the Jewish community... that is how your leadership should behave publicly when something terrible like this happens, because emotions are running high among the populace and this is when their worst instincts generally come to the fore.

If this was America we would have had Trump go online and write some kind of long hateful, diatribe focused on Muslims and possibly even Indians.

Not really. It is Pakistanis who are actually struggling. When everyone said the attacker was Pakistani, they immediately went into deflection mode and linked incidents from centuries ago that are irrelevant, claiming that nation and religion have nothing to do with it. Now, the same people are talking about nationality. It doesn’t matter whether he is Pakistani or Indian, what matters is that he is an Islamist extremist.

Don’t fall for that for a second.

Albanese and his mates are weak. If this isn’t addressed, next time it could be a mass stabbing, a bombing, or a vehicle attack. The real issue that needs confronting is radical Islam. Labor refuses to deal with it.

There are Muslim-funded groups that have placed imams in certain mosques and Islamic centres who preach violence and hatred. Labor lacks the political will to act because they fear losing support from moderate Muslim voters.

This should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: the vast majority of Muslims are law-abiding Australians. That said, there is a problem within the religion that requires serious reform.

Well that is the job of Australia's intelligence/law-enforcement agencies the ASIO and AFP. Considering the fact that the attacker was being monitored by them in the past, I would call this a pretty massive intelligence failure on their part. It is not the job of the government to be going after such individuals, and certainly not publicly. These are things that happen behind closed doors, and something the intelligence and law-enforcement agencies generally take the lead on. The only role the government has is in empowering them and giving them the green-light.

You are a good poster but I humbly disagree. What Albanese is doing is staying politically correct and not addressing what the actual issue is. The exact same mistake European leaders have done in the past and result now is for all to see. Trump is a straight shooter and in today's chaotic climate we need more people calling out spade a spade. I mean if someone is hating on me, I have no reason to love him just not to offend others right? Hatred against people that is hating your existence is the way to go.

Yes, Muslims can be influenced, but that is not unique to Muslims. Christians have been mobilized through groups like the KKK, Hindus through Hindutva, and Jews through extremist strands of Zionism. This is not a failure of any one faith, it is a recurring pattern of how power exploits identity.

History consistently shows that mass radicalization does not arise spontaneously from the bottom. It is cultivated, legitimized, and weaponized by those at the top, political leaders, institutions, and elites who benefit from division.

If reform is genuinely the goal, it cannot begin by blaming ordinary people while ignoring the architects who create, fund, and normalize these movements. Real reform starts by holding those in power accountable, not by selectively singling out one community while excusing others.

So which part of Islam do you want to reform?

You are a good poster but I humbly disagree. What Albanese is doing is staying politically correct and not addressing what the actual issue is. The exact same mistake European leaders have done in the past and result now is for all to see. Trump is a straight shooter and in today's chaotic climate we need more people calling out spade a spade. I mean if someone is hating on me, I have no reason to love him just not to offend others right? Hatred against people that is hating your existence is the way to go.

If this guy is an Indian, I will never doubt it for a second. We just saw recent Delhi blasts perpetrated by so called 'Indian' doctors. My point is, being Indian or not is irrelevant here as that was not the motivation behind this attack.

I don't know much about the Islamic religious texts to be able to comment on that.

I believe the onus should be on the guardians of the religion in the Middle East. They should update the texts as necessary before we allow further immigration from their lands.

Agencies act within political, legal and funding constraints set by government. If radical networks are treated as politically sensitive, enforcement inevitably weakens. This isn’t either/or - it’s both intelligence failure and political failure.

Did Trump say anything like that post attack by the Afghani citizen in USA? I perhaps missed it.

By calling spade a spade, I dont mean going on a rant. However, I will also not support leftist BS like will not allow this incident to divide the country. Ah those classic lines which makes my ears bleed. Heard so many times from MMS govt post 26/11 attacks.

He should first acknowledge - there is a problem. The problem is not only unique to Australia but worldwide. Then he should say we will bring culprits to justice, find out what was the motivation behind this attack, who are the people involved and this govt will take every possible step to protect citizens of Australia and ensure these kind of attacks dont happen in future.

Now that is what you call strong message. Not - will not allow this incident to divide the country. Sure.

Akram had lived in Australia for approximately 27 years and had only limited contact with his family in Hyderabad during that period. Senior Telangana police officials stressed that there was no indication of any operational or ideological connection between Akram's alleged radicalisation and India.
