ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said on Saturday that the AJK people would think now to which country they should make annexation to.

He said this while addressing a joint press conference with Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman.

The AJK PM said that once again the doctrine of necessity had been created. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would not allow the democratic process to derail.

He said, “Despite serious reservations, the PML-N leadership has implemented the Supreme Court (SC) judgment in the Panama Papers case.”

He said, “The future of Kashmir is linked with Pakistan.”

Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification was a rebellion and it was fixed.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, he said that Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification was an insult to the office of the prime minister.

He questioned the fairness of the trial as Nawaz Sharif was not given the right to appeal.

He said, “The PML-N has put the country on the path of progress.”

He said, “The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an epitome of tremendous endeavours by the PML-N government which translated the dreams of development into reality through practical efforts.” —Agencies

AJK are more Pakistani than most Pakistanis and if they ever came to know what this guy had said and for what purpose he'd said it, I'm pretty sure they'd be inclined to lynch him. I have known Azad Kashmiris to have mentioned independence once or twice when NS and Zardari were at the height of their corruption but the vast majority are Pakistani and show it with pride. This guy has lost his benefactor and like the majority of politicians in Pakistan represents his own corrupt network.

ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Monday once again clarified his statement which allegedly said that he is considering AJK’s accession to another country after former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference, the AJK prime minister took a swipe at Jang Group for publishing a false statement attributed to him that Kashmir was contemplating its accession to another country following the Sharif’s disqualification.

He said that the news story published in the group’s Urdu daily was distortion of his statement. He asked the media not to jeopardize the cause of Kashmir in their battle. The relations between Pakistan, AJK and India held Kashmir were very strong, he said and added that by engaging in such propaganda campaigns, India was being provided an opportunity to speak against Pakistan

Farooq said the fallacious story had deeply hurt his sentiments. The newspaper should have at lest ascertained the facts before sending it into print, he added.

While addressing a presser a day before, he said that he cannot even think of AJK’s separation from Pakistan as “Our hearts beat with Pakistanis and I will still stand behind my words.”

Farooq said his entire presser was about the Supreme Court’s verdict with regard to Nawaz’s disqualification. “I condemn the impression which given was to my statement and the way it was presented,” he added. The video of his press conference is available which shows his statement has been distorted in the report.
