i think from this they will select squad for Emerging cup .

Very glad to see they have selected express bowler than the trundle we have last time in emerging cup

some exciting fast bowler are musa khan(U19),m husnain(waqar younis hand pick for ISU),

arshad iqbal(U19) ,Nasim shah

one thing also why they did not select a single leg spinner some one like ibtisam sheikh should have been

there.leg spinner Are vital for success in limiter over cricket

Zafar Gohar continues to be ignored. Inzi needs to wake up man

Guys just be happy Inzi didn't put Azhar and Asad in the emerging players list

Umaid Asif, Waqas Maqsood and Bilal Asif should not be on this list.

Why have Zafar Gohar and Mohammad Irfan been ignored?

We need to groom a couple of right arm fast bowlers who can consistently bowl 140+kph a couple of quality spinners.
We lost the recent series in England because we did not have good opening batsmen. We need proper openers who can occupy the crease to see off the new ball.Last year Aqib Javid was saying that he had found several young fast bowlers from different regions who were going to be trained at NCA?.I wonder what happened to them.

What I can understand that the WK kid, Umair Masood isn't known much in PCB ranks. Rest lists are not that bad, but was expecting few more young fast bowlers.

There's alot of players on the list that shouldn't be there and there are players that should be. Overall, its not bad but come on some of the players should be on that list.

Very happy to see potential express bowlers like hasnain, Arshad Musa and Nasim Shah

How about Kashif Bhatti?
Where is Taufiq Umar, Umar Gul? We need more experience players in emerging list.

To be honest this guy deserve a place due to his fantastic domestic record.unforunatley his fitness have let him down to play for pakistan recently

There are about 6 bowler who are young and fast but intersting to see how many will be shortlisted along with these few oldies

It is worrying to see the lack of quality young batsmen in that list. Also no off spinners or leg spinner. Just too any pace bowlers.

Names I would have liked to see

Ammad Alam
Zeeshan Malik
Saim Ayub (I know he's playing at U16 level but if you're gonna call up a 16 year old fast bowler, why not a batsmen)
Zafar Gohar
Ibthisam Sheikh
Abrar Ahmed
Ashiq Ali
Umair Masood
Saif Badar
Hasan Mohsin

Top list but can't understand obsession with Saif badar. He hasn't ever impressed apart from under 19 world cup

A lot of garbage in there that will serve no purpose in the future. Typical selection from Inzi, selecting the obvious talents and then filling the rest with the most well known players instead of actual prospects.

As usual Inzi is picking some TTFs. Either he is a hypocrite or force to select certain players.

Well not exactly blessed with a huge lot of talent coming through and most the prospects are left handed. Would like to see Badar given a proper run in the middle order rather than being thrown in at 7-8 like he usually is. You have to work on your best prospects regardless of one bad run of form.

Disappointing to see Bilal Asif and Iftikhar Ahmed on this list. But other than a few bad selections I think this is a decent enough list of players.

Thanks. Probably they have picked the names with emerging Cup in mind, than than high performance skill training; because some of the picks are beyond that age (batsmen as well).

Can anyone put a small description of the unknown players here from local sources?

Last year 27 players were picked for this camp compared to 26 this year. Maybe they have room for a few more players. Following players were selected last year and the ones at the bottom are selected again this year.

Openers: Sami Aslam, Fakhar Zaman, Imamul Haq, Sahibzada Farhan.

Middle-order batsmen: Umar Amin, Haris Sohail, Usman Salahuddin, Asif Zakir, Umar Akmal.

Fast bowlers: Usman Shinwari, Sameen Gul, Muhammad Irfan, Mir Hamza, Rumman Raees.

Spinners: Muhammad Asghar, Shadab Khan, Bilal Asif, Muhammad Irfan, Usama Mir.

Fast-bowling all-rounders: Amir Yamin, Faheem Ashraf, Ammad Butt, Hussain Talat.

Spin bowling all-rounders: Muhammad Nawaz, Agha Salman.

Wicket-keepers: Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Hassan.

Farhan, asghar, Bilal asif, Muhammad hasan, Tallat, agha Salman and ammad butt were also part of camp last year.
Do ppers think these players benefitted from the camp or it was waste of time?

Waqas Maqsood has poor fitness levels and he is almost 31.

Waqas Ahmed deserved selection more than him.

Shaur Ahmed should have been there aswell.

Waqas is in the UK playing club cricket.

I'm surprised that Mir Hamza isn't in this list.

Thank you Saj for updating. JazaakAllah.

Mir Hamza's omission is slightly surprising But,

He has already been part of like 3 emerging camps. Furthermore if pace and fitness are basic gauge than both Sadaf Hussain & Mir Hamza are similar in terms of fitness, pace & Fc numbers with Sadaf having excellent list A numbers aswell. If you pick Mir over Sadaf than you need to justify it.

mir hamza really? He bowls 125 kph pies. Why does everyone rate him so much??

Judging based on his PSL 3 performances. Was quite expensive and fairly innocuous.

Put Abbas in PSL or any T20 matches and the same will happen. It doesn't mean the bowler is bad, he just has to be used in the correct format. In Mir Hamza case, that is Test matches.

pretty disspointing to know that Mir, Sadaf and Abbas are our 3 best pacemen for Test Matches domestic stat wise.. all 3 can't even touch 135k..
surely Pakistan can do better than this.

Assume this is ongoing.

Some excellent selections along with some poor ones.

There are also some surprising omissions. Off the top of my head, Danish Aziz, Umair Masood, Zeeshan Malik, Nasir Nawaz, Zafar Gohar, Ashiq Ali, Mohammed Irfan (legspinner).

You get the picture. That said based on previous years they seem pretty relaxed at letting other players turn up and take part.

There are some players at the camp who are not selected which is great to see. Ibtisam sheikh is one of them who will benefit from mushtaq ahmed's coaching

Local cricketer hospitalised after a ball hit his neck

Shahbaz-Ahmed.jpg

A domestic cricketer was rushed to a hospital after he got hit by a ball during the Pakistan Cricket Board’s high performance camp.

The cricket board was availing the services of wicket keeper Shahbaz Ahmad during the camp match.

The ball, bowled by a fast bowler, hit the wicket keeper on the neck after a bounce.

He was taken to a hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Camp is supposed to be ongoing but it seems like some of the players are playing in the U19 inter-region tournament.

I assume they are still involved in the camp in some capacity Abdullah719?

Huh?

Pakistan have drawn their last two test series in England (2-2 2016 and 1-1 in 2018) and won a trophy the last time they played ODI cricket.
